View Full Details of Oakwood House Care HomeMum has had a stroke and since going to the home, we always get a friendly welcome from reception or front house. When we ask staff for anything it's done straight away, nothing is to much trouble. Our visits are so much nicer as we know mum is being really cared for. Everything is catered for.
After my mum had a very long stay in hospital which was not the best experience we were offered a place for mum at Oakwood House. So far we have been very impressed with the care mum is receiving, all the staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. We are frequent visitors, so much that the reception/front of house staff know us by name and are always happy to help. Oakwood house has taken the stress out of the relentless hospital visits where visiting is a lot more relaxed and comfortable. Although mums not able to participate in activities they have daily activities to keep the residents entertained and the staff try and encourage everyone to join in. Overall we are finding Oakwood to be the best place for my mum and are very happy.
Staff were all so welcoming, caring and approachable. The best care was given to our father in the final weeks of his life. Thank you
Excellent care from the staff looking after my father. Especially one carer & night nurse.
Always very clean. The staff are always happy, polite and helpful and there are a lot of activities and entertainment put on.
This was my first experience of staying in a care home. The service was good and I have never met so many caring helpers before. I would be comfortable staying in Oakwood House again.
My mother received excellent care as she recuperated from an operation. The staff could not have been more caring and empathetic towards her, without exception, regardless of the team member. There must be a very good manager at this home.
I have really enjoyed by stay in Oakwood House, the staff are all very kind and caring. No complaints at all. A real pleasure being here. I will miss all the company. I arrived on 21st November and returned home on 17th December. A lovely 4 week stay. Thank you.
Our son has settled in well after a month.
My grandad has been a resident at Oakwood House for a while now and I cannot praise the staff enough for the level of care he has received. It's so uplifting to see him so happy and healthy, it reminds me of how he used to be. We went to Oakwood House for the open day and everyone there was so helpful, friendly and up for fun! Well done Oakwood House keep up the great work.
From the day my partner moved to Oakwood House from the hospital. He improved so well in a matter of weeks. I found all the staff to be pleasant, and helpful regardless of their role within the home and interacted with my partner on a daily basis. In my opinion, they went over and above. I cannot fault them. The activities, the food, the care and how they made you feel important and part of the family.
I'm very happy and content living here with everything and everybody. The food is excellent and the staff are superb.
Overall pleased with care and support my grandad has received since being with Oakwood. Incredibly polite and friendly staff (specific mention to the young receptionist - always smiling). Nothing appears too much trouble for staff, demonstrating an excellent approach to their care. Great selection of activities on a weekly basis which keeps him smiling too!
Oakwood House Care Home is a beautiful home and I am very happy with the care my aunt is receiving. I am sure the home is well-managed and have given 'excellent' to many ratings. My aunt eats very little and I do wonder if her diet could be more varied if more thought were given. I know she refuses most food other than yoghurt. It would have been good to meet the manager/deputy manager when my aunt was admitted, although the receptionist is excellent and other staff members are very good. Many thanks.
I recommend this care home, it's the next best thing to being at home. Nice atmosphere, very kind staff, very clean, well maintained, very modern, high-quality establishment in a really nice setting - beautiful!
My dad's condition certainly improved after he entered Oakwood House. I know that he receives very good care and your staff are always at hand for a short chat about my dad, very reassuring. My dad has one visitor who often upsets him and I don't trust that person at all. No names mentioned. I'm usually welcomed by your regular receptionist who always has a friendly smile and kind words, she's a credit to your business. Keep up the good work and hopefully my dad's time with you will continue to be pleasant.
Oakwood House has provided my mum with good quality care and made a difficult time easier. All of the staff are caring and compassionate. At times communication has been a little lacking unless pushed by us but when issues have been raised they have been dealt with.
Mum's room has a garden view and she can feed the birds which she enjoys. The room is very comfortable and has everything she needs. The staff are polite and caring. Mum struggles to eat the food sometimes as her teeth aren't great! She has settled in well. Her stay is temporary so it's lovely to see her happy.
Excellent all-round. Very friendly, helpful staff. Well-run organisation.
My mum only arrived at the end of September but is already receiving end-of-life. I cannot fault the kindness of the staff - to both my mum and me - as we go through this most difficult time.
