View Full Details of Kirkley Manor Nursing HomeI work at a local Teaching GP practice. I contacted Kirkley Manor to see whether I would be able to bring some students to visit and meet with the staff and residents there as part of their GP training. From first contact all the staff there were friendly, helpful and eager to support us. We were made to feel extremely welcome and the students had a wonderful time. We all commented on the beautiful building, the rooms, the gardens, and the freedom and choices the residents have in Kirkley Manor. Its clear they focus on patient centred care, and the needs of the individual is priority. The students were given ample time to talk to lots of residents, and they too loved meeting the students and hearing how their training was going. One of the comments from the students at the end of the day was the wish that they could visit every week! Overall and very lovely, bright, welcoming home with clearly caring and dedicated staff.
During today's visit staff were extremely helpful. There were kind and caring at all times towards the resident. All areas were clean and tidy and good decor and comfort were a really positive feature. On all my visits interesting activities are provided often linked to specific events.
I found the staff very kind, helpful and courteous at all times even in the middle of the night. Nurses were extremely understanding and gentle and totally efficient when changing dressings and wound. My only complaint would be the "toilet in the cupboard" which I found extremely difficult to negotiate and it would have been so much nicer had it been larger or if an ensuite was provided for each room. Apart from the above, the chefs always tried to supply me with any food requested but not on the menu. The bacon sandwiches with lashings of brown sauce were delicious at breakfast time. I will miss them. I made some good friends with members of staff and have only fond memories and my thanks for all they did for me.
My wife has been in Kirkley Manor for nearly a year and a half in that time we have had good and bad times. Due to the nursing staff and the carers , caring attude and manor and the support they give to my wife and my self and the welcome that is given every time I visit , I can not thank the staff enought for all they have done. Thank you all at Kirkley Manor.
I have been in Kirkley Manor for rehab and it is the best time I have had since I fell and broke my ankle. Everyone here is so nice and helpful they can't do enough for you and all the staff from top to bottom can't wait to help you. I will miss everyone here, staff and patients, all the people here. Thank you all for helping me get ready to go back home.
I visited my father on a number of occasions during his time in Kirkley Manor. I was always welcomed as a visitor and staff were very caring to my father. It was a long illness and a difficult time for the family, staff were very supportive and my father was looked after very well. When he died I was impressed at how well this was handled. I would like to express my thanks to all the staff in Kirkley Manor.
My brother has been in Kirkley Manor for a few months now. have found managment + staff excellent. The food is great with plenty of variety. Having several health issues my brother needs 24 hours care + I've found that they treat him with care and dignity. Overall, I have no complaints the care home is run very efficiently and professionally.
I think she is getting used to the home. It's a lovely home for her. The facility is clean, and the staff are very good to her.
The staff are very helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. There are activities for residents to get involved in. I know my mother is in safe hands when I'm not there. The carers always have time to speak to you, even when they're busy. They sit with my mum and chat with her when she's worried and confused. The nurses always keep me informed on my mum's condition and will explain to my mum why she needs her medication.
I am extremely happy with every aspect of my father's care at Kirkley Manor. Every member of staff who I come into contact with, whether it's the receptionist, nurses, maintenance men or the management team acts with complete professionalism at all times, deals with any issues as quickly as possible and most importantly treats my father with the utmost respect.
This is our first time experience in a nursing/care home and found it very friendly and understanding, always something for residents to do even if it's just watching a film or playing games always a good cup of tea at hand if needed. Hygiene is very good, clean and smelling fresh, very good caring staff, a helpful receptionist and a smartly dressed dining room.
Every time we have visited my mother-in-law she has been engaged in activities, from crafts to singing. The staff have always been so accommodating from the care assistants to the manager and not to forget the receptionist who seems to know everything. My mother-in-law reports the food is lovely and I must say it smells nice. The home is clean and tidy without being clinical and it smells sweet. The grounds are very well maintained, full of colour even in November.
This is our family's first experience of a care home for our mum and I can personally say that it is run very professionally, it is very clean and all the staff are very patient and caring. Food and hygiene is excellent and the care home staff always make you feel welcome when visiting. My mother has always been very anxious but since she has been in the home this has improved, that for our family means so much as it takes any anxiety away from us knowing she is very happy.
My mum became a resident in Kirkley Manor in May 2024, just for rehabilitation care after struggling with mobility issues. This is the first time Mum has been away from her home by herself after losing my dad last November. We knew she would struggle but the care she has received has been amazing. The staff have been friendly and helpful, she has loved her meals in the home. The home manager Gener has always gone out of his way to make sure Mum was getting everything she needed. Mum is now able to come home (July). Highly recommend to anyone looking for a home for their loved ones.
Upon arriving I was made to feel very welcome, a lovely room with a TV and ensuite. Staff there to help morning and night. Was treated with dignity and respect but also had a laugh and joke with staff and enjoyed the food, plenty of tea and coffee. Would recommend Kirjley Manor to anyone, almost home from home.
I would like to say that my mother's stay with you helped her back to being mobile and walking again with her frame. Your staff and helpers went out of their way to make the whole experience of her being away from home more manageable. Nothing was too much trouble, you were all so supportive and helpful. I would like to say thank you.
Staff are so friendly and helpful. They cannot do enough for you, day or night. If you are sat on your own, someone will always come over for a chat. It does not matter what problem you have, they will go out of their way to solve it. Food is fantastic, plenty of choice. Kirkley Manor is very welcoming to all family visiting, whatever the time. Keep up the good work.
Having to choose a home for my dad to go into was the hardest thing I've ever had to do and never thought it would happen to us. From the moment we walked through the door we were made very welcome and reassured. Being told I could visit my dad 24/7 was so comforting. All the staff at the home are amazing and go above and beyond to make sure he is cared for so well.
This place is really nice. They are so caring and helpful, always put a smile on the faces of people and visitors. They will have a chat with the visitors as well as the people that live there. They come in and check to see if earthing is OK, which is really nice to see, as well as offering visitors a tea or coffee. They are friendly, cheerful and reliable. They are quick to answer if Nan pushes her button. This place is very professional and they make you feel at home and treat you as family, so caring, friendly and lovely. All staff deserve a medal and a pay rise, they never stop helping, all go above and beyond. This place is clean and always getting cleaned and nothing is left unattended. If Nan doesn't want anything on the menu, they make something else. They always have activities on for the people to do.
Mum joined you in March 2024, I can not recommend Kirkley Manor high enough. Staff are wonderful keep you updated. Kirkley Manor is best place for Mum in a long time. I can finally relax between my visits. Thank you for all you do.
