View Full Details of Avocet Court Care HomeMy mother in law is a resident of Avocet Court Care Home and is very happy with her carers and the care she receives. During my weekly visits I have seen a big improvement in my mother in laws general happiness. She has been takin part in the entertainment activities which she has really enjoyed the social side of this interaction with staff and fellow residents. The management are very good at making sure everyone is aware of the activities being organised and making sure that family members are welcome at all times. Overall both my wife and I are very happy with everything that the home provides and the support given to us as family members of our loved ones in the care home
This home is amazing very caring staff, my father passed away 2 years ago, the staff were amazing who looked after him for 6 yrs till he passed, my mother is now in avocet and so happy, she was so withdrawn after Covid, but now she is smiling and joining all the activities that avocet arrange for all the residents, office staff and everyone are so friendly and caring
I can't thank the lovely staff enough for the consistent care they gave my mum. She had an awful fall in London and was in a London hospital for 3 weeks. Then transfered to Advocet court for rehabilitation. From the time she arrived. The staff were wonderful. It really is a home from home. The place has such a happy atmosphere with people that treated my mum with the upmost respect and dignity. It was such a relief knowing she was being looked after by such caring upbeat people. The food always looked delicious and there was always some kind of entertainment going on. It was a weight lifted from my shoulders knowing I didn't have to worry about her. She came on leaps and bounds with physio and has now returned home with carers going in twice a day. I was quite sad she had to leave as it was such a joyous place to be. I could not have asked for better care for mum.
My dad has stayed at two other care homes in Suffolk that were more show homes than care homes. I found at Avocet Kayleigh and all the staff were so helpful, most caring and friendly. It cannot be an easy job at times, but nothing was too much trouble. I would say the care was outstanding. All the residents looked happy, well cared for and relaxed. There was no smell, and everything was very clean although some walls could of done with a paint! But it all made most homely. A pity was full and I couldn't get a permanent place for my dad but highly recommend if you can.
Slightly dated room but excellent care, which was the most important aspect of my mother's stay after a spell in hospital before going home. The carers were very attentive, the food appetising and it was generally much better than the private care home we had used previously. Thank you for all you did for my mother while she was with you.
Very pleased so far, Mum seems to like it here and the staff have been very nice and friendly.
Mum has settled in really well; she enjoys the company of other residents and care staff. We are kept informed as to her health updates and any problems as they arise. We receive regular emails with info as to what is happening in Harlech House and invites to events. She is happy, and that's what matters.
Mum settled in well, all staff were helpful, professional and caring. She was well looked after and happy. The place was clean, the food was good, and nothing was too much trouble. We felt welcome and included in Mum's care.
It was a great comfort to know my Dad was being cared for so well as he recovered.
It has been a big change for my Aunt, but shes always happy when we visit and the staff made such a lovely effort on her birthday! The staff are caring and always there if we have any questions that need answering
The staff are the real stars here. They were so kind and caring and always happy and upbeat. I couldn't fault the care. The kitchen were always happy to work around the menu to cater for mums likes and dislikes.
Staff work hard and very kind.
My mother in law went to Avocet Court for assessment following a spell in hospital. The staff were friendly, helpful and caring. She was well cared for and treated with dignity. The facilities were very good and helped her transition from hospital to her current care home.
When my husband was referred for rehabilitation did not know what to expect but can happily say need not have worried. He received excellent care and was kept informed. All staff were lovely and it really put my mind at rest that he was getting the best care and treated with dignity. The setting is lovely and the overall experience was positive. Thank you from us both.
Both receptionists are very friendly and informative. Refreshments available, drink in or takeaway cups for hot drinks. A nice place to sit. Mum in for rehabilitation following a hospital discharge. All staff very welcoming in the house. Good care taken with mum, her every need catered for willingly. Mum settled very quickly and is enjoying watching the wildlife out of her window. No negative comments.
The care for my father is very good. They are very caring & supportive to my family.
Generally I am impressed with my husband's care. Maybe, the building itself is rather old and tired in places.
I visit my husband 5 days every week. Who is contented to be here, for rehabilitation and physio. He enjoys the food which is variety and well presented. cups of drink, tea, coffee and of course cold drinks are served during the day. Entertainment is organised daily by a staff member. Staff are helpful and very caring. Enabling my husband to progress in his walking and balance with frame.
Mum has received excellent care and support from the staff. We have had regular contact from the staff with updates on mum's care. Nothing seems to be too much. I would recommend this unit for other carers. Cannot comment on activities or cost as discharged from hospital to some. Mum unable to participate in the many activities arranged by the staff.
The reception we got as a family was very welcoming from day one. The colleagues are very friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. We feel we can ask any question and they answer straight away and if not come back with whats happening. Alot of care is taken to settle mum in. Cannot comment on activities as Mum has not tried them yet. But when passing, sounds good and clients laughing and clapping, music playing. The day room is bright and always cheery.
