View Full Details of Barchester Bloomfield Care HomeI visited on two separate occasions, one of my longest and closest friends, during the last stage of her courageous battle against cancer. Sadly, our 54 year friendship which started during our school days, ended yesterday. I would like to highly commend Bloomfield NH, for most importantly, the wonderful care they gave to my dear friend. The 24 hour open door policy speaks for itself, so what you see is what you get at ALL times. This was a very important factor for me. Bloomfield was also exceptionally clean. My friend was in a comfortable, cosy, well decorated bedroom, which could have been her one at home and not the austere bedroom that I had imagined. From the moment I entered the home all the staff I had dealings with were friendly, polite and efficient. I would however like to particularly acknowledge the nurse/head of the unit who spoke to me empathetically whilst maintaining patient and family confidentiality. As I left, I knew that my dear friend WAS in safe hands.Thank you.
Absolutely fantastic care provided at Bloomfield. The staff are friendly and cheerful. They did everything in helping to support my dad for the two years he lived there. It was a great comfort to know he was safe and happy there. Every single member of staff I met over the two years were excellent in the professional quality of care they delivered. They were always welcoming and made a real connection with my dad which made him feel safe and secure. Thank you Bloomfield team, you're amazing.
Bloomfield has been amazing for my grandad, with their lovely, friendly caring staff, nothing was ever to much trouble for them, we met a lot of the staff whilst grandad was there and I can honestly say they was all lovely, his room was lovely, the home is lovely and clean, they made all the family welcome and during grandads last couple of days whilst he was on his final journal in life they was incredible the support they gave us they looked after us as well as grandad with a mattress to sleep on and food and they kept the cups of tea coming, I can not recommend this home enough we will forever be grateful
My mother moved to Bloomfield on Friday 31st January, having resided at another care home previously for 7-and-a-half years. She moved due to the fact that she had dementia and had become too frail for the previous care home to fully meet her needs. I can honestly say that although this was a very anxious time for us as a family in moving Mum at this stage, especially due to her frailty, it was the best decision that we could have made. Bloomfield made it a very easy and smooth transition. Mum is very well cared for by the lovely caring and friendly staff. Mum appears very happy and engaged in her new environment. The staff and activities coordinators take the time to get to know each individual resident and encourage them to join in with the activities, whatever their abilities. Mum has thrived beyond my dreams since moving to Bloomfield. My regret is that she didn't move there years ago!
We were really worried about my father in law joining the home, but we shouldn't have been. They have provided for his every need. The staff are very friendly and always helpful. We have had support every step of the way. It's never easy having to make the choice we had to make, but we are glad we found this care home with its excellent staff and services. Thankyou.
Very welcoming - freedom to express concerns, friendly, relaxed home. Aunt well cared for. Thank you to all.
Every time I go to the home I always get a good vibe from all the staff, so I know my mum is safe there. I am probably there six days a week, 2 to 3 hours a day.
Mum is at Bloomfield Paulton, I have the utmost respect for all the workers there. Mum is always clean, fed well and as she loves her food she always has extra. Her room is always clean with the T.V. on. As she cannot get out of Bed the staff are always popping in to see her & check she is O.K.
We were extremely fortunate to be able to see my mother happily settled at the Bloomfield Care Home. She is treated with the utmost respect and care and there is nothing that the staff won't do for her. She is 103 years old. Her family lives in Canada and the staff here have become her surrogate family. We couldn't be more thankful.
Nan's birthday, 90th, staff were absolutely wonderful. Good time had by all. Lovely tea party and 90th cake provided by the home. We couldn't ask for more. Nan enjoyed herself.
Mum came into Barchester Bloomfield Care Home initially for respite with a view for permanent placement. We are very pleased with the care she is receiving and also the support and advice given to the family. We feel involved and supported.
Mum arrived six weeks ago and from day one, the care, facilities and staff have been wonderful. The bedrooms, common rooms and gardens are inviting and the activities enjoyed by Mum most of the time. Everything has been thought of for the resident and family.
From the time Dad arrived, the staff welcomed him and made him comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are always on hand to help or give advice. The food is wonderful, the rooms comfortable and the activities are on hand daily for all to participate. As a family, we have been very happy with everything, including the staff interaction with us.
The entrance lobby is a welcoming space from the moment you walk into Barchester Bloomfield Care Home with tea and cakes and smiling staff, residents and family passing contentedly by. The senior managers are inspirational leaders who never cease to amaze me with their professionalism, empathy and care - for me and my mother. Everything clearly runs like clockwork. My mother's room is wonderfully maintained and always appears fresh. Mother has nothing but praise for the homecooked food and having eaten with her, I was equally impressed with the restaurant quality. But what is most impressive is the incredibly high standard of nursing care and well-being support my mother receives. Staff are not just responsive to her requests, they anticipate her needs and clearly communicate well between themselves. The staff regularly ask for my opinion as to how they can make my mother feel as comfortable as possible. I am extremely happy that my mother is in Bloomfield and it gives me peace of mind to know she is so well cared for. Throughout my mother's admittance and continuing nursing care, I have nothing but the highest praise.
I experienced a rapid decline in my mother-in-law before she moved into Bloomfield, and the change in herself now has been amazing to watch. Bloomfield is, without a doubt, a proper home where she is not only cared for but loved by everyone. She has become part of a large family where all members of staff work and provide a very high level and standard of care towards everyone. I was taken back by the amount of activities provided to stimulate mind, body and soul - absolutely five stars.
The care home is all we can wish for. My mother feels safe and cared for. The staff are amazing and kind, nothing is too much trouble. Excellent!
I was very apprehensive about committing to living the rest of my life in a care home, having read many varying reviews of them. However, Barchester Bloomfield Care Home is certainly a home-from-home in all respects. There is an excellent, varied menu and the meals are tasty and well-cooked. The staff are all very friendly and always ready to help. Assistance is never far away with the individual call bell. My room is a good size and I have some of my own furniture. The home is well-maintained and is always very clean. There is a weekly programme of activities which is varied to suit all interests. Overall, after only a short while, I feel happy and well cared for in my new home.
Really happy, no worries or concerns. Lovely home.
We visited our nan for her 100th birthday and the staff were very helpful as always. They had prepared a lovely room with banners and large helium 1, 0, 0 balloons, along with food and drink. It made the day so special and enjoyable for all.
I am writing this review as my husband has very poor eyesight, we found the care home very friendly and comfortable, he was only in for a week but it gave us great comfort to know he was well looked after. Thank you.
