View Full Details of Saffron Gardens Care HomeFrom day one, the care staff have been outstanding. The care for the residents by all the staff, from housekeeping, nurses, cooks and carers, is clearly shown in everything that they do on the Birch Unit.
I have always left Saffron with peace of mind that he is in a very warm, happy, caring home and that if anything happens, I am notified immediately. The carers & office staff are always so happy, cheerful and helpful. Everyone speaks to you and nothing it too much trouble.
We have found Saffron to be excellent, the staff are very kind and friendly, they have looked after my husband very well. He is very happy here. All very good.
Very clean and tidy always. Food available all the time and good quality. Staff very caring and helpful. Staffing levels are stretched. Activities are good and the local churches etc are very welcoming.
The care staff are excellent in the way they look after my mother. The only concerns I have is regarding the administration as we were chased for fees due from a dentist who carried out work which we paid to the care home but was not forwarded to dentist who was chasing. The last increase in the fees were not passed on to my brother until after the arrears had built up over 12 months. He never received notice of increase.
My mum has been on Birch Unit for just over 12 months. All of the staff have been fantastic and have always gave mum amazing care. I would highly recommend Birch staff, absolutely brilliant.
Excellent care home, friendly and supportive care provided to both resident and their family. Exceptional care has been provided to my husband, most go above and beyond to ensure his comfort and well being, this homes environment is especially welcoming, clean and bright and inviting. I have peace of mind that my husband is receiving the best possible care.
The only drawback I have with Saffron Gardens is that when I phone to speak to my mum, its very difficult ie the phone is rarely answered. This could be due to being short staffed. In general my overall experience is that management/staff are very helpful and caring towards their residents. I could not wish for a better place for mum.
My mother is a resident on Birch and has been here for 1 year. Very happy with the staff and support she receives. Activities seem to be not as frequent as they used to be.
The staff are very helpful and will respond to any requests. The communication I find is important making sure I am up to date with my mother's health and condition.
Hazel unit, looks after our friend , who is a resident here. They look after him with great care and service to his needs are amazing. He's not the easiest of residents but they handle him brilliantly. The care and facilities are clean and tidy. The staff are fantastic.
My friend moved here in April 2025 and since then we have found the saffron gardens to be amazing! Staff on Hazel unit go above and beyond for their residents all the time, always have time to sit and chat with residents. The food and drinks always look of high quality. Staff always make time for family and friends of the residents. If you have any queries the manager will always make time for you.
Dad has been here for quite a while, he was in hospital for a long time and become aggressive, I was anxious about him settling at first here, I could not have been more wrong. The staff one absolutely fantastic and brought dad out of his shell, he is loved like he is family I can not find any fault, when I ask dad his views he says "brilliant" "adequate".
My Mother was in this care home and now my Aunt (her sister ) is with them . Aster Unit for both of them . They both had and have dementia . The care they give all there residents is outstanding. The love and care they give to them all as individuals is second to none ! Also so many activities to kerp them stimulatated and wonderful food .
I noted a vast improvement with various things during my recent visit. Overall cleanliness/appearance/freshness of communal walkways & bedrooms improved. Senior staff making an effort to introduce themselves to family members & openly showing a genuine interest in resident wellbeing. I was advised they were possibly going to get my relative out of bed which i dont think has happened in past 12 months which is excellent news. Improved attention/care is being shown to individuals needs. Nice to see the younger staff members happily interacting with residents. A definate improvement all round with encouraging signs for the future. whoever is putting changes in place please continue with your good work as this gives me every confidence my relative is being truely cared for. Thank you.
Absolutely fantastic nursing home. The care and compassion my late father was shown was amazing. They went above and beyond to ensure he was happy, safe and comfortable and for that I will be forever grateful. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel extremely welcomed at any time of the day or night. I would highly recommend this nursing home and give it 10/10.
My nan has been here for over 2 years she is on Aster Unit. She receives the best care. She is happy here and it’s always very welcoming when I come to visit her. A special thanks to the unit manager and her team for all of the support and care they give to my nan, I couldn’t ask for a better place for her.
My grandmother resides on Aster Unit and has been here for close to 3 years. She is happy and very content here and I couldn’t be more pleased with the care and support that she receives. I visit weekly and it’s always a pleasure when I visit and I always receive the warmest welcome from all of the staff. There is never a dull moment on Aster as the staff always have a range of activities going on or music playing, movie evenings and lots of laughter. It’s simply a wonderful atmosphere on Aster and the staff make it their priority to make sure all residents join in. I would like to give a very special thanks to the unit manager and her team for all of the support and care they give to my grandmother, I couldn’t be happier with the service they provide.
All the staff are very patient and caring and there’s a lovely atmosphere when you visit. The staff are always arranging activities for the residents to stimulate them and stop them getting bored. When I leave I always feel my loved one is in safe hands and will be well looked after.
My brother-in-law has been cared for in Hazel Court, Saffron Gardens. The staff were experienced and caring, coaxing him to eat and drink and being very attentive to his care and personal needs. They worked closely with the GP and communicated well with me. The head chef there cooks everything from scratch, an amazing effort. He really benefited from spending his last few months with their care and support. He was much happier.
