View Full Details of Consort House Nursing HomeMy wife was admitted to Consort House suffering from Parkinson's related dementia in May of this year. It soon became apparent that recovery was out of the question and she was placed on end of life care. She passed away on 17th September. Throughout the time that she being cared for the attention that she received from all of the staff was exemplary. They were kind and caring not only towards my wife but also myself and members of my family. They were cheerful ,and nothing appeared to be too much trouble. As my wife's condition deteriorated she was not the easiest of patients to look after, but I was able to witness - without their knowledge- their kindness in dealing with her. I have no hesitation in recommending Consort House to anyone whose loved one requires end of life nursing care.
When my father-in-law had to go into a home, we were a little concerned to start with as we didn't have any knowledge of the home but we were really impressed with consort house. All staff members were helpful and treated my father-in-law with patience and kindness. He received great care in the final few weeks of his life and the communication from staff was really good. Nothing was too much trouble and the day he passed away we were allowed to be with him until the end and the staff were so comforting. I would recommend Consort House Nursing Home without hesitation. Thank you all.
Overall poor communication. Last 3 hours of life very poor communication. Numerous reports were made about the cleanliness of the room. The alarm bell not working. Some excellent staff some unhelpful. Not enough assistance was given with eating or drinking. The final Official complaint given after the death of the patient has not been followed up. Less than 3 weeks stay. Very disappointed! Hospitals should not send end-of-life patients here.
My mum is currently a resident at Consort Nursing Home. She's been there for nearly two years. I would highly recommend Consort to anyone who is looking for a really well-run and friendly place. Every time I visit, everyone is so helpful and they treat Mum really well. I know she is safe and getting the best treatment and care possible.
My mother was admitted for end of life care on 2nd December 2016. She eventually died on 26th February after receiving excellent care. We are a big family and mum had a constant stream of visitors but we were never made to feel in the way. In fact, quite the opposite as they could not do enough for us. I was so upset mum had to go in a home but she was too ill to be at home and no more could be done for her. My views have now changed as she was looked after so well. The night she died we were able to stay with her until she passed away and the staff were so comforting. We cannot thank them all enough for how they looked after mum and enabling her to retain her dignity to the end. I would highly recommend Consort House Nursing Home to anyone seeking a home where Care is of the utmost importance. Mum also had a lovely large bright room which was cleaned daily. I cannot comment on the activities as mum was too ill to take part but I know there was a lot going on. Thank you all.
