View Full Details of The AldburyFantastic residence, caring, knowledgeable staff. Very, very impressed and would highly recommend.
The Aldbury is always welcoming - everyone is friendly and it's a happy place for residents and staff. The entertainment is delivered with energy and enthusiasm. The food is presented and tasty, and residents can have 'what they fancy'. I would certainly recommend this home.
My husband stayed at The Aldbury Care Home for two weeks respite care in December 2024. He was very happy and safe, and found the staff and standard of care very much to his satisfaction. The layout of the building is very user-friendly, in that residents walk in a circle around a large common room, where daily activities are held and music recitals take place. The home has a very welcoming aspect, with plenty of natural light coming in, especially into the common room. The staff are conscientious and dedicated. I am so pleased to have found The Aldbury and wish all its staff and residents well for the future. I would not hesitate to send my husband there again.
We have been very happy with all the care our relative has received (2 years). He was happy and settled well. All the care and activities were excellent and consistent with all staff. For his last days, he was given kindness and compassion and had expert care. We were supported well. This has all meant a lot to us whilst we were not living locally. We felt that all the homes' staff, including management, reception and domestic worked hard as a team with good communication all around. This made it a home that was happy and inviting. The staff worked enthusiastically for the residents. The garden was amazing.
We couldn't have chosen a better care home for my husband, the staff are so kind and caring, nothing is too much trouble for them, knowing they are safe and happy. Our family are always made welcome when we visit so we couldn't wish for a better place to be in than this, much appreciated and best wishes.
Very well-kept home. All staff extremely helpful, kind and understanding to all residents and visitors. All residents well looked after and cared for. Would highly recommend to anybody.
The Aldbury is the best care home I've ever gone to and the one my mum liked the best on viewing, this made it very easy to choose this home as the best place for mum to move to. Mum has mild/moderate dementia and the staff have gone above and beyond to make her feel welcome. I cannot fault a single thing about the home. Every single member of staff is exceptional no matter who they are from managers to carers, reception staff, activity staff, nurses, cleaners etc, every single one is always kind, helpful, caring and cheerful. I absolutely love visiting mum and she is really well settled. The food is excellent, there's regular tea and cake as well as the meals, a little café and really lovely gardens. I would not hesitate to recommend the home to anyone who has the need for a care home, it is exceptional!
I arrived at the care home my first impression was amazing. Lovely, very clean and tidy, lovely staff. I would recommend your care home to anybody. Keep up the great work, may it continue for a long time.
I am writing this review following the recent passing of my father who spent time at The Aldbury Care Home for in excess of two years, firstly as a daily visitor and more recently as a full time resident. From the first day my father spent at the home, the staff were incredibly attentive and respectful. They worked with him on a personal level, always ensuring his needs were met. The home is well-maintained and provides a comfortable living environment. The rooms were clean, and the common areas were welcoming. The overall atmosphere felt like a place where my father could feel safe and cared for. My father's medical needs were met with thorough attention, and any concerns we had were addressed promptly. The staff also took care to ensure he was emotionally supported, with activities and companionship that helped him stay engaged. He particularly enjoyed his day trip to the Beaulieu Motor Museum.
Excellent care, very grateful.
My sister and I spent many months looking for a home for our father who has dementia. In total, we looked at 10 homes. The Aldbury was the second home we visited and we were always drawn back there. Our father has been there for almost four months and we are beyond satisfied with his care. It feels like our second home as everyone from the fantastic team to the manager welcomes us so warmly and Dad is superbly looked after.
Although the stay was just 3 months, the care and attention provided to my wife was excellent. The staff were always attentive both to my wife and all visitors. All visitors have made comments to me to the effect that The Aldbury was a lovely welcoming home. Contact with me was good at all times and the manager and head nurse deal spent a good deal of time with me in discussions over several issues. Thoroughly recommend The Aldbury.
My Father moved from another local Care Home in May. As a family, we were anxious that it be a positive move for him as it would undoubtedly distress him. The support that we had from The Aldbury in assisting this move was fantastic. They visited him in his previous setting and carried out a detailed pre-assessment. Everything regarding the move was carefully planned through. To visit him the next day, sitting calmly in the lounge, chuckling away having his hair cut by the hairdresser was a priceless moment. I hadn't seen him that calm for some time. He has had his ups and downs at The Aldbury, but that's his condition, and the staff have ensured that he is living as well as he can with his dementia. The staff are helpful, approachable, 'eyes on', professional and treat my Father with dignity. The home is clean, the food good. Both the Manager and Clinical Lead always have time for us. Their professionalism and care are exemplary and an absolute credit to the home.
I have found all the staff and management to be very informative. Professional, caring and friendly. Always happy to listen and chat about your concerns. I am very happy with the care being given, always with a smile and happy to go that extra mile. I would not hesitate to recommend The Aldbury for the wonderful care and service they provide.
Respite stay for medication review and care. Despite some initial concerns we were almost immediately relieved at the welcome received and the ability of the staff to act with ability in dealing with the symptoms of Alzheimer's, the various staff have a manner hard to explain but it shows that they are well trained in this field. Should you require respite care you would be hard-pressed to find better care.
The home is always warm and welcoming. My wife has chosen to stay here due to the great care she receives. Staff are very kind and jovial. Activities are very good - involve my wife and just recently took her to a pantomime. They are now planning her 50th Birthday party.
My husband always enjoys spending the day at The Aldbury. He takes part in all the activities they provide, like chatting with the others, staff and residents alike. It is good that he has other company rather than just being with me at home. It gives me some respite too.
Our relative moved to the Aldbury in June 2023. This care home is absolutely amazing. The care is second to none, nothing is too much trouble. The carers, therapists and nurses are always there to answer any questions we may have. the communal areas are kept very clean and beautifully decorated. Our relative is very contented here.
Great home with staff to match who are caring and thoughtful.
Overall, the experience we have had so far at The Aldbury has been excellent. I find all the staff friendly, enthusiastic, kind and caring, from housekeeping, entertainment and nursing through to management. The activities laid on for all the residents really help engage my husband, and I appreciate also being included in many of these, so I can see how everything works. The only area of concern is the rise in costs and as my husband can no longer go out on any trips and struggles with a lot of the activities, the value for money is a concern.
