I cannot thank Julie and her amazing team of staff enough. This has been a special month for us, with Johns 90th birthday. A lovely cake was brought to his room with staff all singing 'happy birthday'. Also he was able to request a 'special breakfast' where he got the idea for clotted cream to go
with croissants, I'll never know, but what he wanted was what he got! Julie was then super helpful in facilitating a party for all the family, even coming in on her day off. Amazing memories for all of us. Thank you SO much.

My husband is being cared for extremely well. On two occasions the manager of his sector has giving up her own off duty time to make sure his needs a met. I cannot speak too highly of he and all the caring staff at his helm!
30 January 2026
I was particularly impressed when my husband developed a very high temperature. His temperature and blood pressure (very low) were carefully monitored, and when condition became worse, he was quickly rushed to hospital. After his condition was stabilised after 3 days, he returned to Elm Grove to a
very warm and caring welcome - I cannot rate the staff too highly! They are brilliant!

Elm Grove is well maintained, immaculate and well managed. The carers are superb, they are very attentive and cannot do enough for the residents. When my father became very unwell, the staff were quick to recognise the problem and swift to call on emergency medical assistance.
The kindness shown
and the concern for my father were amazing, with a member of staff asking if it was ok to pop and say 'hello' to my father in hospital. The support extended to the whole family, recognising how we were struggling with my father's situation.

My wife has been a resident at Elm Grove for 2 years, suffering from an advanced stage of Alzheimer's disease, and I have been a regular visitor during that period. The standard of care she receives is consistently very high and geared towards her specific needs at all times. In particular her
personal dietary needs are accommodated easily. The staff are without exception expert, cheerful and welcoming at all times and I take great comfort from the fact that whoever I consult about her condition is knowledgeable about her case.
The home is clean and very well maintained and there is a number of activities sensitively arranged for the residents, both communal and individual. The safety of residents is assured through thoroughly designed routines.
The management is enthusiastic and devoted to the care, stimulation and entertainment of residents. Participation by relatives is actively encouraged.
I am relieved and delighted that my wife is safe, warm and expertly cared for.

Withe dads dementia was a big concern to me. The home was great for all of us. The help and support we all got was wonderful. Each member a staff, was so good to dad, our visits each time we were offered drinks and a little cake. Dad loved his food especially the puddings. He was allowed to put up
photos and pictures on the walls. Great home, very dignified at the end for dad.

As always, everything at Chestnut Lodge / Elm Grove continues to be 10/10. Friendly, incredibly patient & loving staff; amazing, stimulating activities; care & health monitoring is totally on the ball - every & any slight concern is immediately communicated to family &/or health services with the
urgency that the situation requires; nutrition requirements & concerns are constantly monitored and evolve according to mum's needs.
My sister & I live in France & the USA respectively, so we cannot visit as often as we would like. I usually manage to visit 4 or 5 times per year, but my sister keeps touch via our weekly "Zoom" video chats, which we all love. We have nothing but the highest praise for everyone at Chestnut Lodge, and we know that our mummy is living her best possible life, and having enormous amounts of fun (as we regularly see via your social media page - a real lifeline for us)! We are so incredibly grateful and cannot recommend your wonderful home enough. Thank you!

Since mum moved to this home in Cirencester around 2 years ago, mum has been so much happier! Compared to the last care home in the area! I have a left a 5 star review before about the amazing staff at Elm Grove, but this time I would like to express huge praise and thanks to all of the "kitchen
staff!" the chef and his team are amazing! Nothing is too much trouble talking about my mum's dietary requirements! The amount of time they have personally spent with mum, myself and my partner talking at how they can help mum with her diet, as mum is on a puree diet at present. Their kindness and time is above and beyond! The way in which the chef and team present, as well as the creativity of the pureed meals is like food you would expect to see visually in a Michelin Restaurant, the beautifully presented meals. Nothing is too much trouble, even when they are busy, if you want a cheeky cuppa, just knock on the door and they will makes us one. We love the kitchen team! Thank you!

Elm Grove, Cirencester. Mum came to Elm Grove from the hospital after a very serious fall, which needed surgery. She's settled in very quickly and regained her mobility in a short time with the help of staff. Mum had oedema on both legs, now 6 months later, they are all clear. There's always nursing
staff available for an update. The home is very clean and all the staff are very supportive and calm around her dementia symptoms. She is in the last stages of dementia now, and she is being monitored daily. I always receive an update when I visit.
The grounds are large and they hold a summer fair every year. Mum really enjoyed that. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

My dad has lived at Elm Grove for the past 20 months. Initially he moved in with my mum who sadly passed away 16 months ago. His dementia means he has gradually declined but he obviously feels safe with the care team who are friendly and support him with all his needs. He smiles often and is
settled, generally, he appears happy. He tucks into all his meals, an easy chew diet, there is choice and it always looks appetising and smells good. Thank you to everyone who looks after him.

When mum moved to Elm Grove she found a new home and family in the staff and other residents. We all felt so welcome then and at all times since. Mum was treated at all times with great compassion and dignity from staff who really cared and were so kind. The staff had great tolerance and
understanding of dementia, always having time for residents and their families. The staff were great communicators and listeners, be it face-to-face or by phone.
Mum passed away at Elm Grove and the palliative care she received was exemplary. We were reassured that her last days would be pain-free, both mentally and physically and they were. The care throughout this time for Mum and us as a family was second to none. Mum's stay at Elm Grove was only for 9 months but she couldn't have been in a better place or with better staff. Please keep up the good work, you are an amazing team led by a wonderful home manager.
