View Full Details of Gotton Manor Care HomeBoth of my parents are now living at Gotton Manor Coach House and I am so happy with their care. Yes, the building is tired and in need of a lot of work, but the care and respect that the staff have for the residents outweighs all that, they really do seem to be like one big happy family and I often hear them all chattering and having fun together and with the residents. Dad can be quite a tricky chap but everyone is so very patient with him and he (despite his best efforts) has slowly settled in. It's helped that Mum joined him in December as they could be together again. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with the staff and the other residents, which was lovely. Also, when my daughter got married last month, the home management arranged for a carer to accompany Mum to the wedding for the day, which made all the difference to us as we could enjoy having her there with us without worrying about her well being. She had a lovely day! Thank you Gotton Manor
Mum came to Gotton Manor from another care home , it was a better move for us all , no more long commutes , Mum arrived in August 2024 , in a very hot month , was made welcomed and soon adjusted to the different routine and timings . Mum was well looked after and although didn't join in much socially , there was always something to do in the afternoon . Well mums favourite , the food , was excellent very high quality and very well prepared by staff , no names but we all know the chef lol .... Mums room was airy and light and laid out to her needs , she had patio doors which she could have open on sunny days . Sadly Mum lost mobility and found everything hard , but she had her tv which she loved . Breakfast , morning coffee , lunch , afternoon coffee and usually cake lol , evening meal , always served hot and she never faulted it . The staff, mum becomes very attached to her carers, i cant name them but a few had a special place in her heart and ours xx Thank you
Always a warm welcome, staff are excellent and friendly. A lovely place to reside. My experience over the last 8 and a half years with my husbands relative there has always been a pleasant, professional, caring and happy one. Now my Aunt is also a resident so there was no question of where i wanted her to be looked after.
Dad has been in Gotton for nearly 2 years, and it's a great place. I can't recommend it enough. You always get a warm welcome, nothing is ever to much trouble, you are always updated on his wellbeing. All the staff are lovely. The activities are great he joins in with everything, and the lady who runs the activities always makes sure no-one misses out. When it's nice weather they can sit outside and soak up the sun with lovely views of the countryside. When I visit I feel like we are all one big family. You couldn't ask for a better place.
As always, the staff are brilliant and caring. Every time I visit, they are very welcoming. The food is very good and a good choice. It is always clean when I visit. Thank you all for everything you do for her.
My mum moved into Gotton Manor in August of 2024, mum settled quickly and is very happy here. I was anxious about mum moving from her home of many years but I needn't of been , every member of staff and I mean everyone that works here in one form or another is amazing ! Nothing is ever too much trouble and the care mum receives is outstanding, the food is fantastic and I'm always made very welcome when I visit. Thank you to all at Gotton Manor for looking after my mum so well.
Beautiful home and settings. The staff are very professional and caring. As soon as I came to visit for a tour before my nan moved in as a resident I had no worries or concerns and knew this was the perfect place for my nan. Everyone is so welcoming and always has the time to chat or give updates when needed. My nan is very happy here and is very well looked after. I would recommend this home to anyone.
This is a beautiful heritage building with outstanding views. The staff are just so friendly and welcoming and they always have time to update you on your loved one staying there or for any questions you need answered. The building smells fresh and no odours like other homes I've visited. The building is warm, homely and bright. My daughter and I are so pleased that our family member is staying here. We've noticed a big difference in her, she's happy and most importantly she's made friends who apparently sit together most of the time especially meal times. There's activities on a monthly plan. The food is very good and my mum can't get enough. Her room is quaint with open beams and the outlook is overlooking the patio with seating and pot plants and up over the hills. My daughter and I feel so happy and we're treated like part of the family. We would highly recommend this beautiful care home.
Dad moved into Gotton Manor just recently, and after two weeks he is settling well. He enjoys the well-cooked food and the care the staff give to him is excellent. All the family is very pleased with how things are going, we have found everybody to be professional and helpful in what is obviously a difficult time for any family and would happily recommend Gotton Manor.
I am the resident at Gotton Manor Coach House, I am living here for nearly 3 months. The staff are very friendly and kind. Lovely care home with beautiful views of the surrounding area and great atmosphere. Good food. When I order bacon sandwiches I get a lot. Home is very clean. Staff make a nice cup of tea every time and my brother likes it. I enjoy activities and wonderful time with staff.
My first impression of Gotton Manor Care Home, apart from its beautiful location was how clean it is and how friendly and welcoming the staff are. We spent a few hours with my brother and I was impressed with the dignity he was afforded in his personal care and the quality of the care he received during our visit. The afternoon entertainment was very good the day we visited - a good old sing-along! I would have liked to stay longer but we had an impending two-and-a-half-hour journey to return home by 4.30.
Mum stayed at the care home for a respite break and enjoyed her stay, the staff were amazing and really took care of her. Mum has stayed at several homes previously and this is the first one that she seemed sad to leave, it's now my first choice for respite care. Thanks to everyone for looking after Mum so well.
My first experience of the place is today, as my brother was admitted as a resident. First impression, a clean, spacious place, with a relaxed ambience. Superb staff who came every time he accidentally set off his personal alarm! and were very approachable and willing. Also got to meet the resident cat, who seemed well looked after and in fine shape, a quiet reflection of the home?! I think so.
My mother has been a resident at Gotton Manor for nearly 3 years. The home is well managed and the care and welfare of the residents are always the top priority of staff. All members of staff are very caring and compassionate. This covers everyone including nursing and caring staff, management, domestic, catering and maintenance team; I could not wish my mother to be anywhere else except at Gotton Manor and would have no hesitation in recommending this facility to anyone looking for an institution to look after their loved ones.
I have been a resident of Gotton Manor for the last six years. There have been significant improvements since Harbour Health Care became the care provider. I am currently very satisfied with the service provided and with the accessibility to a meaningful process for resolving any problems.
My mother went to Gotton Care Home after having several falls at home. We found all the staff very caring and knowledgeable. They kept us well informed of any issues and consulted with us over decisions to be made. We were told when outside medical staff e.g. GP, paramedics were called in - they were impressed with the standard of care in the home. The facilities always appeared clean and tidy.
My sister with dementia was transferred from hospital to the Coach House unit at Gotton Manor, as a temporary measure. At first, the appearance of the Coach House unit made my heart sink however I was met with a clear sense of warmth and caring. This part of Gotton Manor is tired but as it is smaller than the main house it is more like a large home which thoroughly suited my sister. Her temporary stay increased to 3 months. The staff are absolutely amazing. So cheerful and caring. This was a wonderful opportunity for my sister to get used to care home living. We have had to move her to a care home nearer us but will always be grateful for the wonderful confidence my sister achieved and was made to feel loved. The directions to Gotton Manor need to be signposted! The sat nav takes you everywhere and we ended up finding it almost by mistake!!
Dad lived at Gotton Manor Care Home from September 2022 to November 2023. I visited Dad there in September, October and November 2022 and in March, August and September 2023. I was always satisfied that Dad, who had dementia was being well looked after, even though my visiting times varied and were unannounced I never once heard staff raise voices nor saw any unpleasant attitudes, nor found unpleasant smells. I phoned often from France and the management and nursing staff always took the time to answer my questions. The food was plentiful and tasty too. Although many of the care staff were not born in the UK, we'd talk about how the elderly were cared for by family in their home countries and it was obvious that they were offering that level of care to Dad. After Dad died I realised my loss was their loss too and we cried together as if they were family. For me, care is much more important than buildings but when the lift broke down, the staff found solutions to get the residents to the dining room and communal areas.
My husband has received the best care since arriving at Gotton Manor. He is happy and the staff are attentive to all his needs. As a relative, the staff are very friendly and supportive to my needs.
First impression was my room was like a prison cell, no pictures, no TV or radio and no WiFi connection, so I was totally cut off from the outside world. I requested to be moved after two weeks and my new room was much better, with a TV and WiFi. The nursing staff were all very kind and looked after me well. The physio team got me back on my feet and mobile enough to go home again. The meals and other staff were great, although meal times were hit and miss.
