Pat is kept clean, tidy & fed and looked after. He is completely bedridden therefore his quality of life is restricted but he seems happy watching TV and reading. I know he is a bit isolated but the carers try to spend time with him, however they are extremely busy and do not have the time. He
has a nice view of the car park and grounds from his room and can see what is going on around him
I visit once a fortnight again I am restricted on time as I am still working. When I arrive all the staff greet me and make me welcome. For his other sisters to visit it is a 70 mile round trip and again they are busy with their own commitments
The home has a lot of activities going on but Pat cannot partake of them however the staff involve him when they can i.e. animal visits
For his birthday they arranged a horse the winner of the Scottish Grand National to visit him which was so kind and considerate and he was over the moon about it
All in all it is an extremely caring good place to spend the rest of his life. We could not ask for more

Without exception everyone at The Cedars works very hard to make this such a lovely home. All the staff always greet us with a smile and make everyone feel part of The Cedars family. We appreciate the regular relatives/carers meetings.

The Cedars Care Home is in a beautiful grade 2 listed building with modern annex, set in attractive countryside. It has a calm atmosphere and actively welcomes and encourages groups and individuals from the local community to participate in events and activities. Staff always have time for a chat
and all seem to know my mother well. Management have an open door policy and the manager is always ready to listen to any problems that arise and address the promptly. We visit the home twice a week and find it a welcoming place where my Mother is safe, well cared for and stimulated.

Very disappointed with respite care experience. Not all that was promised. Would not use again or recommend. Food on 1st day - appalling. Care not bad but understaffed. Effort to aid my mothers mobility did not happen. and do something about the bell system constant beeping night and day not
restfull.

I arrived at Barchester The Cedars Nursing Home seven weeks ago. I came here suffering with depression and within ten days, it was gone. Your home is so clean, food is really good and the staff are wonderful. My husband came one year ago, the staff are so kind to him, you have only got to ask for
something, it's done straight away. Yes, it was hard to leave our home but it was right to move. Best of all, the family know we are sage and being looked after.

My Dad moved in last December as his Alzheimer's was becoming more harder to cope at home. Dad settled in fairly quickly and the care that he receives is second to none. They even arranged for a couple of Austin A30 to visit which was my Dad's 1st car, it made my his day.
Recently Mum went into
respite care due to not coping at home without Dad and has now moved in permanently and has settled in quickly. The food is all home cooked and very tasty. There are lots of varied activities everyday and families are welcome to join in .
Mum is the the residential part so can see Dad whenever she likes.

My late Mother moved to The Cedars in December 2023. My sister and I were unhappy when my Mother was moved to the dementia unit after two months as the care, cleanliness, furnishings and general atmosphere were markedly inferior compared to the rest of the home. The Cedars were made aware at the
time of how my sister and I felt by way of email exchanges and telephone calls and refunded the deposit when Mum moved to another home, despite not having had the required notice period.
