The nurses The carer's all fantastic
We have had to place my dad in full time care which has been difficult for us all. From first contact with the home and my dad being placed every member of staff has been helpful & supportive, especially 3 of them. Thank you from the family.
Excellent service - everyone is very friendly & could not help you more. Facilities - the facilities were very clean, they had lots of excellent equipment and were very competent using it. I would highly recommend.
An amazing home from home. Staff are caring, professional and engaging whilst all have a cheerful disposition that benefits residents and visitors well being. I was a day visitor and had a lovley day with staff and residents. The interaction staff have with residents is family oriented making it a very special place. The meal and service delivery excellent. I enjoyed the music afternoon where all participated in singing and some had a few dances! I would recommend.
The hospital organised my wife being sent to the Wingfield Care Home for palliative care. My wife was a resident at the Lodge for about 35 days until she died. The staff could not have been more helpful, considerate or compassionate to both my wife and myself in connection with my wife's deteriorating health. I cannot thank them enough 10/10.
We recently lost our mother at the care home. Nursing and care staff we found dignified and respectable at this time. The lack of respectfulness came from admin and management staff, we lost our mum on the Monday and was asked to clear her room the same day and when we cleared her room a few days later we had a member of admin close the door in my brothers face as we was bringing her stuff out to our cars, she never offered to hold the door open. Management never showed any respect whilst we was doing this and the day mum passed we parked our car in her space and she blocked us in. We moved our car and she walked past us without saying a word, and received a phone call a few days later asking us to remove chairs that did not belong to us but to another equipment provider. We also placed complaints to the home and never even received an email back to say they would look into the matters, so we put safeguarding to them instead. We found them uncaring and disrespectful at the end of Mum's life.
Barchester Wingfield Care Home is an excellent care home with dedicated and hardworking staff. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and one feels confident that the residents are in a safe and secure environment. Doctors and nurses are always at hand if needed. Food and drink are first-class and activities are great. Highly recommended.
My grandmother was a resident in the nursing section since 2022. The care she received from a handful of carers and nurses was okay. There was a lack of basic care needs as well. She was bed bound and ended up with severe bedsores and moisture lesions that had not been brought to the attention of the nurses until the family noticed and raised the concern. When medication was needed, they waited until the family would collect, leaving her without medication, and this happened numerous times. We had no support from management. Anytime we raised a concern, nothing was done. Complaints were put in and heard nothing back. When our grandmother did sadly passed away, the manager expected us to sort out the equipment that the home organised and refused to do this themselves and tried charging us for the room. There were no condolences from management when they saw us stood outside in tears, more worried about her parking space. Overall I would not recommend this home for your loved ones.
The care my mum received in her last weeks and days was dignified, caring and professional. She was able to pass away in peace and comfort. The staff were also very caring to myself and my sister. I couldn't have wished for better. It touched my heart that one of the care staff wash her, dressed her and sprayed her favourite perfume when preparing for the funeral directors to take her. Thank you.
Overall very happy.
Happy with the care my mum is receiving.
My 98-year-old father has been cared for since December 2023. I have never had any cause to worry about any aspect of his care. He can be quite difficult and all the staff know how best to handle him at these challenging moments. This gives me great peace of mind.
Despite being 'grumpy' at times, my father-in-law always appears to be well looked after and all of his needs are met by the staff. Consequently, my wife and I are bale to get peace of mind knowing that my father-in-law is in such good hands. I have no doubt about the challenge that the staff face on a daily basis and they should be commended for their attention to his every need.
Friendly staff, clean and tidy home. Communication is spot on.
From what I have seen from staff is absolutely fabulous. Would recommend Wingfield Care Home 100%.
Grandma is so happy and well looked after.
My dad was admitted at the beginning of May following a period of poor health. So far, his care has been very good and as a family, we are relieved that he is now safe and being kept in a secure environment.
Fantastic care, very professional. Great communication with family. Would highly recommend.
My wife has been very well looked after and I'm very pleased.
