View Full Details of Downs View Care CentreMom was moved to a different room and does not know how to work the push taps in the bathroom. I have asked carers twice now to please just stay in with her in the morning when she dresses long turn on the tap and brush her teeth and rinse her month and I can see it's not been done.
My wife is a resident at Downs View and I am comforted by the care she receives. Every one dealing wirh her knows her problems and treats her with care and compassion. As she becomes more dependant on the staff they accomodate her needs. This was brought home to me abruptly at a recent hospital stay, where paliative care was the initail responce from the consultants, the staff on general ward did their best but were under constant pressure and unable to give the care that she enjoys at Downs View. Once back she recovered. God bless the people at Downs View.
Been coming to the home for a number of years, seeing many changes but the positive energy, commitment and management has always been top notch. Caring, kind, considerate and professional. The staff should be commended. A shining example of care in the community.
I feel that the staff offer emotional support as well as personal support as my mother in law is blind and often suffers with her mental health. The home is kept clean and always smells amazing not like other residential homes. Great home cooked meals cater for all needs.
The care home management and staff are amazing and so patient. My mum is blind and struggles to move around freely. She can be difficult and does not want to be in a care home. The staff always treat my mum with dignity and loving care. If any adjustments are required, management are always supportive and quick to implement. Downs View is a very special place.
The staff and carers are all fantastic. Cannot fault the home and staff. Clean bright and friendly.
I struggled with my father going into care home, for many reasons. The Manager and staff have been absolutely amazing, not only with the support they have given my father but myself and my family. They are so friendly and approachable, always answering my questions and if they can't they come back to me asap. They always give me a update on my father, I'm well informed with his health and medication. My father's room is always clean and tidy. I love the personal touches from activities to celebrations, going the extra mile to provide my father with his favourite drinks, or making sure he's watching his favourite programme. The garden and outside area are well kept and a lovely area to spend quality time with my father. The most important thing for me is that I'm happy knowing my father is well looked after, and I can visit when ever we please. Friends have also commented how well my father is cared for and how welcoming all the staff are. Thank you Downs View.
We visit the resident weekly. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The care home is clean and tidy. When we have attended the various social activities and functions we have always found they are well organised, and the food and drink is good. The security is good.
Staff really friendly. Residents seem happy.
Residents seem well cared for an happy. The meals are very good. Very friendly staff.
Very pleased with the running of the care home. Food is excellent if not too much for mum. Staff running activities are amazing and fun for most residents. Very happy with everything they do here.
Downs View is a lovely home where residents and visitors are treated so well and warmly. As a family we are so happy that my husband is here it is like home from home.
The care that my friend receives is remarkable at Downs View. The staff are attentive and you can see the care they have for the residents. The overall calm and peaceful environment really helps create a warm place to live. I would highly recommend Downs View to potential residents.
My sister has been in Downs View since February 2024. She settled quickly, has a lovely room overlooking the gardens, and has all her personal items around her. The staff are caring and do their very best to support her. After a spell in hospital equipment and support from other agencies were put in place to aid her recovery. Nothing is too much trouble. Downs View is in a lovely spot overlooking the downs. We are all very happy with the move and the fact that my sister is happy.
My mother went into Downs View in April. The management and carers welcomed Mum showing kindness, patience and treating Mum with dignity. There is always someone to talk to if you have any concerns. Nothing is ever too much trouble. I am so pleased we chose Downs View for Mum, as other family and friends who have relatives in other care homes have not had such a positive experience. I can not thank the management and carers enough for everything they're doing for Mum.
My mother-in-law has been in Downs View since April 2024 and we have found her care to be exemplary. From her general care to controlling her paid relief via medication nothing appears to be too much trouble. She enjoys her meals and I cannot fault anything.
it is always a joy to visit the home. All staff so welcoming and cheery. Today we all joined in with the activity which I hope encouraged some more of the clients. Such a relaxing feel to this home even though some of the clients can be noisy and difficult. It is always dealt with sympathetic ways.
Downs View Care Home is clean, caring and friendly. Residents are well looked after and have their needs met in a timely and empathetic manner. They organise a range of events for residents and families such as a cheese and wine night, singers and summer parties which are enjoyed by all!
Down View's staff consistently provide high-quality and personalised support to the residents. There is a real patient-centred approach, always giving them the best possible care and attention. The team have a real understanding of the individuals in their care on a personal level, as well as getting to know their family and close ones who visit. The Activities Coordinator is fantastic at arranging a range of engaging and exciting activities for the residents, including exercise, beauty, crafts, gardening and baking. The home is always clean and tidy, and the resident's appearance and hygiene are valued heavily also. The food is varied and fresh, with residents offered a choice. There isn't anywhere else we would consider for our Grandma!
Mum has been in the care home since November 2023. We did try and trial mum back at home again with carers visiting 4 times daily. Unfortunately, it was assessed that mum needed 24-hour round-the-clock care. The Manager was very supportive and had mum back to her placement. The care home is much better for her as she has social activities and friends. They let you visit when you like and it's a very warm and welcoming place. I feel so reassured that my mum is in a better place. They look after her well and she is eating well. They get hair done, nails done, feed well and have a whole array of happy cheerful staff who look after the residents so well. My mum is by no means an easy character she can be at times very awkward but they manage that well and get her to do all the things that she can't do without help.
