I can honestly say that Princess Lodge Swindon is absolutely fabulous place where all members of staff from kitchen to management show Residence nothing but respect dignity & care whilst keeping relatives informed on how their loved ones are doing.
My sister lived in Princess lodge for 3 years until she passed away in August 2024 She was treated with respect and kindness.. she was always happy with every aspect of the care home.. All her needs were met with care and kindness.. knowing this enabled us as a family to feel secure in the knowledge she was happy, even in the most difficult times. We would recommend princess lodge for this reason.. The staff were amazing from the maintenance staff right up to the management team .. A special mention to the nursing staff and care assistants who did go above and behind to meet my sisters complicated needs..
I find the home warm and welcoming since my friend arrived. The management team is very helpful and kind. The team on the floor is knowledgeable about my friend. I am happy my friend is settled and I know they are well cared for and safe.
My mum was at Princess Lodge for nearly three years. She had Parkinsons disease and was bed bound. In those 3 years I never had to worry if my mum was being looked after well. There was always a constant stream of staff checking in on her. I was kept fully informed about everything. The care home has a wonderful energy about it and hums with life and vibrancy. Both care staff and office staff all interact with the residents and everyone knows everyone. The are lots of activities both inside and out in their safe and fully accessible garden. The rooms are big and bright with natural light and modern fittings but there is also multiple lounges available for sitting in with your loved one. There is even a Bar (no alcohol though) and a hairdressers. I highly recommend Princess Lodge Care Centre and wholeheartedly thank them for looking after my mum with care and respect when she was at the most venerable stage of her life.
My Uncle spent 7years as a resident in Princess Lodge Care Home after suffering a severe stroke. He was paralysed down his right side and was unable to speak but still retained his mental capacity and was able to communicate his likes and dislikes. The staff always treated him with dignity, kindness and respect and although he obviously wasn't happy with his situation, he was happy and settled there. Whenever I visited the staff were friendly and helpful and I was kept well informed of any medical issues or problems. More importantly, my Uncle was always consulted about any treatments or changes and his wishes were listened to and respected.
Princess Lodge staff are unique in their beautiful care of their residents. They talk, they hold hands, they listen and they respect their residents and family members. I can only thank them from the bottom of my heart for their care and love in my father's final weeks.
Staff has been very cooperative towards my mother, they have been taking her needs into consideration and have make sure that she is doing good Staff make sure that my mother will eat food they always encourage her and make sure that she eats well
I live in the USA and my Mum has been a resident with Princess Lodge for a few years now as she has dementia. The Staff are always so friendly and helpful and my Mum has a lovely room. She is very well cared for. The Staff at Princess Lodge recognize how important it is to me to maintain contact with my Mum and they make it very easy for me to stay in contact. The Manager sets up a TEAMs call for during the week for when I request it, and then arranges for my Mum to be in the office so that I we can video chat together. It is really wonderful. With the difference in time zones, I call in the early morning from the USA and it is end of day in the UK. My other siblings live closer by in the UK and visit regularly and take Mum out for coffee or lunch when they can. I highly recommend Princess Lodge.
Since mum has been in Princess Lodge, we've been able to go away, something we've not been able to do for 25 years. It's nice to know mums cared for, it's peace of mind. I've got a new lease of life. Mum is cared for, and good care is everything to us.
I feel the staff are doing their very best to keep my uncle motivated and engaged. He's not one to mix with others but they are still trying. The hospitality service manager has said he is going to organise for my uncle to eat in the communal area once a week. My uncle has agreed ti this. I'm happy with the calls I get, as I am my uncles next of kin, asking for my consent for various things. I really like when I'm called to let me know my uncle is resident of the week. We struggled taking my uncle out for lunch recently and have been offered the option of using the residents lounge for a family gathering. What a fantastic idea. So pleased we can get to see him, with other family members, without the worry of him needing to use the 'facilities'. This option will make the event stress free and alot better for my uncle. Thanks to the hospitality service manager for facilitating this. Thanks to all the staff team for their consistent, caring, friendly and respectful approach.
I am an ex-nurse and have worked in many Nursing Homes over the years, I have found this Care Home to be one of the best I have ever encountered, the staff bend over backwards to help the resident and their family. They have a number of activities during the year, which are very well organised and attended. The rooms are always clean and tidy, and the food is very good. I would highly recommend this Care Home.
As a family we were quite apprehensive of our relative going into Princess Lodge. From day one we were greeted by a friendly team and now after 9months we still get that warm greeting at reception. My sister has dementia and I observe her nearly every day being treated with such kindness and professionalism. Whether it be the care staff, nurses, cleaners or the management team they all talk to her and always use her name. Her room is always spotless, her clothes are well looked after by the laundry services and the kitchen provide her with a varied menu. Entertainment is provided for her if she wishes and as a family we are invited along to many of the events. It's lovely to see how the staff, despite many challenges treat EVERYONE with such kindness and dignity. It's lovely to see staff who really do care about their work, and nothing is too much trouble. As a family we are really pleased and grateful to all that work together to make this home the safe and welcoming place it is.
My father went to Princess Lodge Care Centre, Swindon following a lengthy illness in hospital. He went there very weak, not very mobile with a loss of appetite. After nearly a month he increased his mobility, regained his appetite and to go home and live independently. The staff were professional, caring and thorough. The Centre was clean, comfortable with numerous facilities. My father really enjoyed his stay there. Thank you
This care home is such a lovely place. The staff are all very friendly and caring. The rooms are very nice. They offer lots of activities for the residents. They all go out of their way to ensure residents are happy. The food is of very high standard. This is a great care facility for anyone who needs nursing care. Highly recommended. I'm completely happy that my person is extremely well looked after, safe, secure and stimulated.
The two receptionists are absolutely amazing. One of them helped to settle Mum in when she arrived and put her at ease. My mum is a very difficult person, the staff are completely unfazed by this and have always treated her with kindness despite her bad behaviour. Very impressed with the home and the staff.
My mother arrived at Princess Lodge in January. She has been treated with great kindness and looked after well. Whilst all the staff are very good, some are outstanding - I always know when one particular nurse is on duty as my mum’s hair is always freshly washed by her. The staff have been kind and supportive to me at this particularly difficult time. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Everyone greets me with a friendly smile. The rooms are clean and well-equipped. In terms of activities, there is always something going on but my mother is, sadly, not in a fit state to participate.
We cannot rate the care that Mum receives at Princess Lodge highly enough. The atmosphere is always so calm and welcoming and the staff are all so incredibly warm and friendly and seem to really care, and that means so, so much. Whenever we visit we're always greeted by cheery smiles - even remembering where we travel from to see Mum each time. It's the personal touches that make all the difference. It feels like we're being cared for as much as Mum is whenever we're there, and that really matters because the visits aren't always easy. Mum has severe dementia and although seems to recognise us as people she knows (we're her children) she can't understand what we're saying when we try to talk to her and we can't understand her when she's talking away in her own world. It's emotionally draining but bearable because she seems so happy and content, and clearly has an amazing relationship with the staff. It makes leaving her there bearable and that's worth everything to us.
I'm pleased to provide this review of my engagement and visits from Australia to Princess Lodge, Swindon between November 2022 and my mother's death on July 27th, 2023. The back story best illustrates the professionalism and care provided to my mother given England and Australia time zone differences and tyranny of distance, The management, staff, nurses and carers at Princess Lodge are a very rare breed who, despite the challenges, went above and beyond to keep me informed of the health and well-being of my mother during her care at Princess Lodge This was evident during my visits in November 2022, May 2023, and July 2023 upon my mother's death. Maintaining an empathetic understanding to a situation not usual, the Princess Lodge team maintained regular calls and e-mails to put us at ease. In particular, I want to acknowledge the incredible professionalism and patience shown by the Princess Lodge Manager. Incredible people and experience.
When visiting, always greeted by cheerful staff asking how we are. Mum is always well dressed, hair brushed, happy and singing praises of the staff. Room is always clean and tidy. Nothing seems too much trouble if we request anything for Mum. Activities are many and varied to keep Mum interested and alert.
