View Full Details of Fountain Lodge Care Home LtdMy mum spent 8 weeks in Fountain Lodge before she passed away and I can't recommend the care home highly enough. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff went above and beyond to ensure mum's needs were met and she was comfortable at all times. Every member of the team there made us welcome and greeted us with a friendly hello whenever we visited. And there was always plenty of staff around to assist the residents. A choice of home cooked meals. Her room was clean, homely and filled with her own knick knacks. All the residents, are content and happy. And mum, in her short time there, was settled and had formed bonds with her carers. Fountain Lodge isn't clinical or sparkling. Its a home from home, filled with laughter and love.
Excellent staff and very caring. Such homely environment. All their residents including my father in law looks very happy. My wife was anxious about her father being in a home but it soon disappeared, after we realised how happy he is there. She feels lucky and much relieved to have found this home.
The level of care was dreadful. My husband was left in bed, unwashed, in the same clothes as the previous day. The room was not clean or welcoming. On three occasions I had to find a member of staff as the resident in the adjacent room was shouting for help. On the third occasion, a member of staff said 'Oh she's always shouting'. Even though I had stated that I would take my husband's laundry home to wash, items still went missing. There was no stimulation or activities provided and when my husband was transferred to the resident lounge, he was placed in a corner with the television blaring. Whilst there were a couple of staff members, including the cook, who were helpful, the rest and the management were not. It was an awful situation and I was so relieved when I was able to get him transferred.
Staff are very welcoming always smiling. Lots of activities for people to do. Very clean and tidy nice atmosphere. Rooms are decorated to a high standard. Would highly recommend.
I think that this is a fantastic home. All the carers are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. We always feel most welcome here and enjoy our lunches. The décor is lovely and my sister's room is great.
