View Full Details of Allenbrook Nursing HomeIt has taken a while but Mom has settled into life here and with encouragement is participating in activities, which is good to see. Care staff are excellent and we are very happy with the overall care Mom is receiving. This is Mom's first experience of living in this type of environment and ti was always going to creat challenges but the care staff have really helped Mom adjust to her new life.
Very pleased with my dad's care. He is well looked after and has improved since being in your care.
From day one all the staff have been very friendly and approachable. They take very good care of my husband. There's a wake and shake in the morning so its exercising all the body and there's activities all day keeping the brain active. They make a big effort for celebrations eg Christmas which I enjoy also.
Nan has been in Allenbrook since January and the difference in her is fantastic. She was bedbound at home for 2 years. She's now out in the chair everyday socialising and playing games. She is so much more alert and the level of care she gets is great. I find all the staff friendly and welcoming. We are very happy.
Staff work hard to care for residents, and residents are always treated compassionately. Staff also work hard to make family members feel welcome. I feel that my father is settled at Allenbrook and feels secure there.
My experience has been very positive, the nurses and carers have been friendly, helpful and supportive. My father came here from hospital and has settled in and appears happy. I'm happy my dad is cared for in lovely friendly atmosphere. The home is welcoming and friendly with wonderful staff.
The staff are caring and compassionate, my father is always well presented. My father requires all care and the staff are responsive to his needs. The staff always make myself and my family welcome. We are provided with refreshments during our visits. My father responds to staff with a smile. As a family we feel my father has settled well and has a good rapport with all of the staff.
Really happy with how Allenbrook are caring for Dad. It gives us peace of mind knowing he is in good hands. Dad said "You want for nothing here." Knowing he is happy and settled is all we ask. So thankful for the care Allenbrook provide.
Our family have been through a really difficult couple of years. Our Mum died and Dad was diagnosed with dementia. Dad's condition deteriorated really quickly and soon needed nursing care because he was unable to perform even basic personal care. The staff at Allenbrook are so brilliant with Dad. He is looked after really well. There are activities to keep him happy and he tells us all of the time how well they look after him. He loves the food which is prepared fresh by chefs. As a family, we can enjoy our time with Dad knowing he's looked after well.
My aunt is very happy and settled in the friendly environment of Allenbrook. She feels secure and comfortable. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, making it feel homely.
From the first day I arrived I felt like I fitted in well with all of the staff and residents. The staff have all been kind and helpful. I have enjoyed the variety of food which has always been well prepared, cooked and served. I would recommend the service that I have had to everyone.
My sister wants to share her express wishes to the housekeeping, nursing and management team.
My friend/neighbour has been in respite care at Allenbrook for 6 weeks so far. She is being very well cared for and there is a caring, friendly, helpful atmosphere in the home. All the staff seem to have good relationships with the residents and amongst themselves.
I had to make the difficult decision to put my mom into respite care. From my first point of contact with Allenbrook Home, they reassured me that my mom would be safe and well cared for and they were not wrong. Mom stayed for a month in her own private room. The meals were amazing. Everyone who works there is kind, compassionate and understanding of the resident's needs. Mom enjoyed her stay and I wouldn't hesitate to use Allenbrook again in the future.
I feel that under the circumstances of my wife's health that she is getting the best care possible.
As a family, we could not ask for more of the Allenbrook family. From all staff involved with our sister, the care is given with dignity and care. Most importantly emotional care is included so the person is not lost in the nursing environment. Knowing that your loved one is safe and nurtured provides peace of mind. The necessities of life, taken care of with compassion in an open-house environment. We are delighted with the whole team.
Mum has been a resident here for over a year. She is well cared for and I have no worries. The care home is welcoming, visiting times are very flexible and Mum seems happy and content. The food always looks appetising and Mum eats well, has gained weight and has maintained this. I always sit with her in the resident's lounge so I can observe what happens. Carers show respect, empathy and patience to all residents even when behaviour is challenging. Management offers plenty of opportunities for feedback, providing regular times to meet.
My father is having his second period of time at Allenbrook Home. The staff are all excellent and very helpful and caring. It's good to know he is in safe hands. All other aspects such as communication and admin etc are also first class. I would highly recommend Allenbrook should you or a family member require their service and expertise.
My brother lives in Allenbrooke. He appears stable and care staff appear to know him well. He has a lovely room which is well kept. He would benefit from more individual daily activity as he cannot manage group activity. The home is clean but would benefit from an update in furnishings and more dementia signage. Care staff work hard and are responsive.
Appear understaffed. Call times (service users waiting on staff to attend) are simply appalling. Every visit buzzers going off. I've witnessed response times of over 1 hour frequently. Too many agency staff - which isn't good as some appear uncaring and like 'it's just a job' - they can't wait for their shift to finish. The manager is approachable and appears receptive to feedback. My aunt since being in their care has developed bed sores which are now infected. Told they turn her hourly - but know from my visits - that simply isn't happening. Shocking!
