View Full Details of Ashgrove Care HomeMy first visit today to see my sister in law. I was very impressed by the welcome i received. I was offered some refreshments whilst i waited for her to be bought down, which i thought was very nice of them. It was very clean and the staff seemed very attentive and caring to the residents. The only slight negative was the phones kept ringing and seemed to go unanswered for some time which could be disturbing to the residents. Apart from that, it seems a very nice place
This home and its staff are outstanding, the food is well cooked and always served with a smile, all the carer's are kind and nothing is too much trouble for them, there are nurses on site all day and night who respond quickly to any signs of illness. The rooms aren't huge but very clean and adequate. My mum was happy, well looked after and well fed. I can only say thankyou all for taking such good care of my 95yr old mum and should we need more care in the future we will be heading back your way again.
Mom has vascular dementia and is totally dependent on nursing care. She has only upper body mobility and as such is hoisted into and out of beds, chairs etc. That said she always appears to be happy and content with her life. We have experienced other care homes and are very happy with Mom's care. Thank you to all staff at Ashgrove for the love and care you provide to Mom and to us, her loved ones.
Since our mom moved into Ashgrove in May 2022, we couldn't be happier. From the moment she arrived the care has been exemplary. All staff have been wonderful but I would like to compliment one member of staff who has gone above and beyond what is expected.
Staff are helpful and kind. Caring isn't easy, and I appreciate what is being done for my dear relative.
My mother has been at Ashgrove Care Home since September last year. In that time she is happier due to mixing with everyone and well looked after and more mobile. I cannot thank you enough.
Caring friendly staff, attentive and helpful nursing care and plenty of activities to keep my mom occupied and interactive. Overall, my mom has settled in well and appears to be happy.
Mom has received good care since arriving here. It's unfortunate due to covid and the possible sale of the home Ashgrove seems to have a lot of agency staff. Obviously, with dementia residents, it's important to have members of staff they can relate to.
Always very happy with the care and support provided for my mother. Good communication from the home to keep me informed, especially during the covid pandemic.
My mom has been at Ashgrove since last August. Staff are always friendly and helpful, ringing me when mom is not well. Mom is always clean and dressed well, as her dementia is getting worse we have room visits and her room is always clean and tidy. She seems happy there and always has a smile for her carers.
Ashgrove is an excellent care home.
Striking differences between Ashgrove and the resident's previous home are that she is very clean, relaxed and contented. The staff have taken time to get to know her, her likes/dislikes/hobbies, past life etc. Not once have I seen her anxious or upset. 2 members of staff, in particular, are excellent with her. The manager is brilliant and runs the home so well. I couldn't be happier knowing she is so well cared for. Thank you.
Mom was made very welcome from the day she moved in. The manager at the time was very friendly, nothing too much trouble, any problems and his door was always open. The manager who is there now is the same, had a good meeting with her and aired our problems with certain staff, she sorted it. All staff there now are brilliant, nothing too much trouble for them.
Ashgrove looked after my nan for around 6 months as she was end of life. We as a family have been really happy with the care and attention that my nan and we received up to and after she sadly passed away. My nan was happy there and often told me how nice the staff were.
My aunt moved into Ashgrove dementia unit in January 2020. I live in Australia so I have had to rely heavily on the staff to keep me informed regarding my aunt's health and care. The staff have gone above and beyond to keep communication open from weekly emails, FaceTime with staff and setting up FaceTime every week so I can speak to my aunt. I applaud their dedication to their clients and know that my aunt is happy and well cared for. Thank you.
The staff are friendly and caring at all times the care my mom received I could not fault. It's all clean and tidy and the food is varied. I could not wish for a better care home for my mom.
I can't speak highly enough of this home. I say this 'home' because that is exactly what it has become to my mom. Since she has been in Ashgrove, my mom has settled into not being in a 'care' home, but in a home with a new family - carers and friends, and she is very content and happy with the situation. Having just celebrated her 100th birthday, with the management and carers making it very special for her - as with covid, we, her family couldn't. I couldn't ask for a nicer home for my mom - since she couldn't stay in her own.
After my mother was put on an end of life pathway 2 years ago she moved into Ashgrove where they have prolonged her life with their attention to her care package and their caring nature to her needs. The staff are caring and very knowledgeable and take pride in their roles and you can see they see their job as a vocation. The facilities and atmosphere here are above and beyond and maintained to a high level. My mother was particularly impressed by the food with home-cooked meals available throughout the day, amazing homemade cakes and treats. Some would say better than a 5-star hotel. Residents have the freedom to choose what they want when they want. If you are reading this review as you are looking for somewhere to care for a loved one, you couldn’t ask for more and Ashgrove will eliminate those doubts you may be having.
Happy in general. Would like more fresh air weather permitting. Would like to sit outside all day, ha ha.
Happy in general. Shame residents aren't getting out in the garden more mostly due to COVID-19.
