View Full Details of Ardenlea Grove Care HomeI am extremely grateful for the persistent pressure that Sarah (clinical lead) has put on the local mental health team to get my mum re-assessed and medication prescribed for her Alzheimer's. Mum has been in considerable distress for several months.
Overall, we are satisfied with the care and support given at Ardenlea Grove, the staff are all very helpful and friendly and caring. We are always notified of any signs of illness, etc. And the residents are treated with dignity. Food is of a good standard, and the rooms are a good size with everything that is needed. There are activities for those who wish or are able to join in. We do think that the cleanliness of the room itself could be improved. Thank you, Ardenlea Grove Care Home.
Very happy with mum's care. Nurses, carers, in fact, all staff are lovely, approachable, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful to me and other visitors. Mum seems to be happy/settled most of the time, even when she is tired and upset (part of her illness) It is unfortunately out of our hands where she now finds herself - but I am happy that she is well cared for and safe.
The care home and all the staff are excellent and made sure my mom is looked after and cared for really well. This includes the staff at reception who makes you feel welcome when visiting.
I chose to come to Ardenlea Grove Care Home for some respite care. The ethos is immediately striking as friendly, happy and welcoming. In particular, the staff are especially helpful and respectful. The food is home made which suited the fact that I needed to put on weight. The room is adequate but needs a make over. I would have liked some opportunity to do some basic physio as I spent a lot of time immobile, walks to the garden are ok but needs some attention to encourage residents to go there. Overall, I was happy with my stay, especially the lovely staff.
Dad came to stay in November 2024 and is now a permanent resident. He feels safe and settled. He has made friends with his carers and is happy. As a family we feel he is in the best place and we have peace of mind he is very looked after.
The staff are friendly and courteous at all times. Measures were put in place so my husband did not choke on his food. A pad was put on his bed so they could be alerted if he got up as he is prone to falling. The rooms are a good size and comfortable - as are the lounge and dining room. 3 activities per day.
Day staff excellent and care & relationship with Mom is really good. Night staff is ad-hoc, some brilliant but on occasions (not often) had Mom feeling less secure/reassured. On a general basis when we have raised concerns on the floor, action has been immediately taken which is appreciated. Room isn't clean resulting in us cleaning sometimes (mainly floor). Pleased with Mom's support, we did expect a meeting with the care home manager to feedback on our observations & ask questions.
Staff on Sapphire are excellent and even though my husband is unable to talk they are able to understand his needs. They work extremely hard and remain cheerful. Very important that the same staff remain on his floor which gives continuity of care. I would be happy to recommend this care home to others especially Sapphire floor.
Staff know my Nan well. Always give an update on how Nan has been, what she has eaten etc. Staff nurse can nearly always get a smile out of her. Care is reassuring Nan is looked after well.
The home itself is very warm, welcoming with polite staff on entrance. Both me and Mom meet with a smile. I personally have had not one problem whilst mo has been here, with the care staff providing exceptional care towards my Mom and her needs. Even when they seem understaffed the care does not change. Any questions I've asked have been answered in a timely manner and if staff can't provide the answer they go out of their way to make sure someone will know. Overall exceptional care staff.
My dad has thrived since he has been in the care home. He has been well looked after by the staff working in the home and has settled well into his new environment. It's a very friendly and welcoming care home.
My grandad has been in Ardenlea Grove Care Home for 4 weeks and loves being around people, always getting involved in the range of activities daily and as a family, seen glimpses of the man who was cheeky and always dancing! The staff and facilities are amazing and so friendly.
My mother has resided in Ardenlea Grove Care Home for nearly two years. Mother has always been very happy and has been looked after exceptionally well. The staff and medical staff are always carrying out their job 100% and I'm happy with their care. I would like to mention especially one of the nurses who really cares for the residents and one of the carers who is also a caring and sympathetic person I would wish to look after my mother.
I have been visiting my neighbour for nearly three years in the care home. The care home is spotlessly clean, lovely en-suite room. When my neighbour first came to the care home she was very poorly but after a while, she has improved. The staff are friendly and professional, it does not feel like a care home at times.
The home is in need of a refurbishment, the furniture is fine and the rooms need to be made a little bit more homely. The staff are lovely, very caring and patient but feel there should be more to deal with the amount of residents. I also believe that the doctor should inform any visiting relatives of what health info they may need. There also need more car parking.
As a family, we are very pleased with Ardenlea Grove. The staff without exception have been excellent. They have always answered any queries or issues efficiently and listened to our concerns. The staff are always polite and cheerful and Mom receives excellent care here. She is treated with compassion, kindness, and respect, from the nursing staff down to the cleaners! Mom does have some issues with the food which she says is often only lukewarm. Also, the meal times are too condensed together with too long a gap from tea to breakfast the next morning.
Dad was only at Ardenlea Grove for 3 weeks before he passed away but throughout that time he received excellent care from all the staff. He was on end-of-life care and the staff made sure he had everything he needed. They were very supportive to us as a family, answering all our questions and supporting us through a difficult time.
The care Mom receives from the carers is excellent. They know exactly what Mom wants i.e. how she likes her pillows and not to cover her feet. The carers are genuinely happy and do care about the well-being and happiness of the residents. The only thing I could say anything negative about is sometimes the food is cold, although it is usually nice tasting and cooked well. Also Mom has mentioned when she is washed she is stripped naked. I think 1 half of the body should be covered when the other is being washed.
Father-in-law has been well cared for at Ardenlea for about six years now. Some very happy times have been had with the help of wonderful care staff. Parking can be a problem at times. Not always easy to get into building at weekends. Staff on Sapphire great!
