View Full Details of Swallows Meadow CourtFollowing the incredibly difficult decision that we could no longer care for our Mum at home, we settled upon Swallows Meadow. Initially, Mum found the transition traumatic, however after a few weeks she settled and accepted the care that she was given. The staff, too many to mention were unstinting in their support and did everything to ensure her comfort. Unfortunately, Mum's condition meant that her time at Swallows Meadow was limited but in the time that she was there we took comfort knowing that was in the best possible hands. The nursing and care support team showed such compassion and all involved with the calm and efficient running of the nightingale floor are to be commended. Sadly but inevitability Mum passed away, her journey peaceful and dignified. We will be eternally grateful to the staff for all they did. Thanks are not enough, they will be forever in our hearts. Swallows Meadow is a very special place and comes with our highest recommendation.
I was more than grateful for all the staff who helped me during my stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them also they made me feel happy to talk to me. I cannot thank you all enough. Bless you.
I am extremely satisfied with Swallows Meadow Court, the caring environment, friendly staff and excellent accommodation.
My mother is on Heron unit and has been a Swallows Meadow Court for 12 months. I just wanted to share that she is receiving excellent care and is very happy. The staff are fantastic on Heron unit, nothing is too much trouble. It is a safe and happy environment. I am very happy with her care.
This was my mother's third stay at Swallows Meadow Court and the care & respect has not wavered. Mother has complex needs and brittle bones means many breaks. The care received was exceptional. Would definitely recommend clean, great food, lovely carers, well trained nurses.
My elderly father lived at Swallows Meadow for 2.5 years, following the loss of my Mum and struggling with cognitive issues. Dad arrived there after an awful time in hospital, where he had been treated for pneumonia after bad experience at another care home. This was a stressful time for my family, getting Dad settled and cared for properly was our priority. Dad was very frail when he moved to Swallows and thanks to the quality of care he received here, he defied all odds and lived for a further 2.5 years to the age of 97. All staff are friendly and demonstrate commitment to looking after the residents. The food is nutritious. All departments are efficient. There is a good activity programme run here 5 days a week, the staff work hard to provide interesting, interactive sessions and entertainment for all abilities. Lovely garden regularly used. Dad's end of life care was comfortable, dignified and respectful. I thoroughly recommend this as the best nursing home in the area by far
My wife was in Swallows Meadow Court Robin wing for 6 weeks rehabilitation after leaving hospital. All the staff were caring, considerate, friendly and professional to both my wife and myself.
Lovely room a very caring staff. Acted promptly when there were medical moves appropriately escalated. Tried anything and everything to encourage mum to eat. Open dialogue with family and effective communication. Didn't see any therapists, so can't comment but Mcand H guidance was easily accessible for all staff.
I was pleasantly surprised when my husband went to Robin House, a small staff of dedicated physios and occupational therapists. They worked hard with my husband, and he has made remarkable progress, I cannot praise the nursing staff enough nothing was too much trouble for them and the atmosphere of the whole floor was excellent.
Lovely, friendly, helpful rehab. Very enjoyable experince. Helpful physics and very helpful night staff.
I attended for rehabilitation following hip surgery. Everyone was very respectful and I was treated with dignity at all times, whenever I needed help, they were always there to help.
I was really happy and grateful for the care provided and received by/ for my mam. She had 6 weeks with great care while we got her home maintenance all up to date, having to have a new boiler system and radiators in every room. Thank you for all your care.
I was at Swallows Meadow for a few weeks while I received care and physio. Every member of the team was wonderful and really looked after me. They remained professional at all times and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you doesn't seem enough for the amount of care they all give.
Mum sent from hospital to Swallows Meadow following a fall. The home was a strange place, no residents engaged with each other, all sat / lay in their rooms all day. The dining room was uninspiring & barely used, most residents stay in their room so no social interaction even at mealtimes. My mum didn't enjoy any of the food, we even joked that we had no idea how an earth anyone can make toast so soggy and limp. The staff of course were low on numbers & therefore all very busy especially the nurses / more medically trained staff, although I often witnessed staff sat on chairs staring at their mobile phones but perhaps on a break. Mum was waiting a long time when pressing for assistance. Mum had unwitnessed fall while in there, staff did everything by the book & took good care of her. Frustratingly mums dentures went missing the day before she was due home, 2 weeks later and still trying to find a dentist to sort this out so still not eating properly, lost weight since going in.
My mum was in Robin House for three weeks and then moved to Nightingale House as a permanent resident. All of the staff were absolutely amazing, super friendly, and clearly cared a great deal about their patients. They were also very welcoming to me as well and constantly asked if I would like a cup of tea when they made my mum one. I can now go back to America knowing my mum will be well looked after and in a great place.
I haven't had a lot of contact with many care homes but my husband was transferred from hospital to Swallows Meadow, Nightingale Ward in October 24 and I'm overwhelmed with the care given to my husband and myself. All staff from reception, cleaners, carers, and nurses went above and beyond to know were ok. The food is very good and the atmosphere welcoming and caring. Cannot praise enough.
I cannot speak highly enough of the care my Father received in the last few weeks of his life. From the team leader of Robin Ward to all the nurses and care staff, everyone was 100% in caring towards my Dad, treating him with dignity and respect. The friendliness and attention to detail, caring also for my sister and myself, was faultless. Such a lovely team, each and every one, and is comforting to know that my Dad had this experience at the end of his life. It was a restful end to his life, made possible by such a professional team. Thank you!
Our father entered the Robin Ward initially attending therapy. It soon became apparent that he was near end of life. Every aspect of his care from entering was outstanding. He including my brother and myself were treated with kindness and dignity from beginning to end. Thank you to all the staff, you were amazing and the NHS are very lucky to have you all working for them.
Each and every member of the team could not have been any more kind, considerate and attentive. Not just to the service user but also visiting family.
As a nurse myself I was very nervous to see my dad go to a care home. I need not have worried when he came to Swallows Meadow. What can I say, this is the best home I have ever seen. From the minute you walk in spotless clean and fresh, credit to the housekeeping staff. The nurses and care staff are so kind and pleasant. Dad looks so comfortable and content. The physio/OT team are amazing and carefully plan Dad's rehab. The whole place is an example of how a person-centred home should be. Other care providers need to take note. The care here is effective and this is reflected in the safe care to the residents and good communication to relatives. I really thank all the team at Swallows Meadow. Robin unit special mention, keep up the good work.
