I was very impressed with the initial visit to Moms home. On my visit they showed me two rooms which were both acceptable but the first one was lovely, big with large windows so nice and bright, everything looked clean. This for me was so important as many places I had viewed I had come out of very
upset at the thought of her being in such a small place. Day one was so welcoming lots of people coming in to introduce themselves, both Mom and myself have been really impressed with the food and I visit a lot, good variety, smells and tastes delicious and good choice. Although there seems to be a lot of different staff I have always found them courtesy and willing to help and the nurses are also brilliant and helpful. As with anything there have been a few issues but the Care Manager has always sorted them really quickly and is very helpful. Only one negative the constant buzzer you would think in this high tech age something could be found, that alerts staff but residents can't hear.

My Dad has been a resident at Buckingham house since March 2025. As a family we must say that we have been really impressed with the love and care that's been shown to Dad. We're informed if he has injured himself or fallen or if he's just not quite right in himself and also when ambulances have
been called we've been informed of why and where he's going. He LOVES the food. Plenty of choice. Nothing is too much trouble. The nurses and day staff are his favourite. They talk to him and have a laugh whilst doing their job. They take the time to get to know him and us as a family. If we had a wish it would be that they could take him out of his room more. Dad does need to get out. He usually says no because he doesn't want to be a pain because of assistance needed. Maybe when the weather gets better this will change. The manager is wonderful too. Any issues Dad has had we've spoken to her and she has sorted it out for him. It's lovely knowing Dad is safe and looked after. Thank you all x

I was very pleased with the quality of service given to my mother during the few months she spent at Buckingham House before her death. The worries I'd experienced about her frailty almost disappeared when she became a resident because I felt that she was in good hands with kind, caring staff and
I received immediate reports if there was a matter which needed to be brought to my attention eg when she attempted to walk unaided! Measures were always put in place to avoid there being a recurrence of such behaviour. Staff also responded positively if anyone expressed a concern eg Mum struggled with cutlery and needed help to eat the lovely meals.
I enjoyed meeting the Manager when she visited Mum in hospital before she transferred to BH and also to be shown round when I went along to prepare the room prior to Mum's arrival. I was impressed with the spaciousness of the room which allowed larger equipment to be used in the area.
A friendly, pleasant atmosphere throughout all the building.

We were both made very welcome despite the discharge from hospital being later than anticipated. Buckingham House had allowed me to go and prepare my mother's room prior to her arrival. This did help to make her surroundings familiar and comfortable for her needs. Buckingham House is always,
clean, warm and welcoming. The staff are friendly and supportive. Everyone from the Manager, nurses, engagement and carers have worked hard to support and help my mother settle in and to assess her needs. They have made an effort to get to know her and ensured she has access to the frailty team at GP and MHT.
Although my mother is on puree food, it is well presented and she has a variety of different foods to keep her interest. The food the other residents have had looks appetizing. It has been nice to have the opportunity to have meals with my mother as that helps to create an element of normality and encourage her to eat. The charge is reasonable and I have enjoyed my meals.

Overall standard has deteriorated, no quiet room, no privacy for visitors and families with loved ones. My mother has been left in a state of undress a number of times with no odd shoes on; her shoes have disappeared. When we complained to the staff, nobody seems to know anything, as they are all
agency staff. The management is never around to deal with complaints! Nobody seems to know what's going on. The overall standard of care has dropped!

My friend was placed in Buckingham House in February 2025. On first visits I was worried about his care. Cleanliness, conversation and care were not obvious. No stimulation for my intelligent friend was very worrying. Staff were not obvious and many on phones. In May, I met management with my
concerns, they listened. This week I visited and there was an obvious change in atmosphere, aroma, and staff activity. My friend had a much brighter demeanour. The staff friendly and happy and genuinely engaging with residents. Instead of leaving depressed I felt my friend was in a better place. Request please - more activities and visits out.

Very impressed with Buckingham House. The locations, size of rooms, and layout. The staff are simply amazing. My mother hated her previous home, and we had a bit of luck getting her into Buckingham House. I honestly never seen her so happy. She loved gardening, but now, the big bonus, she has such a
lovely view out of the room, which makes her very happy. Food is fantastic and the staff are so caring. Thank you.

I feel that I have really good connections with the staff at Kensington and I appreciate all that they do for my mum and her fellow residents. The manager is excellent in the unit and wants what is best for her residents. The staff have a good understanding of what is necessary for the residents
care and to ensure their well being. The care leaders are very experienced and altogether there is a good team who work together, and support one another in a job that isn't easy and doesn't receive the recognition and respect it deserves. Thank you all you!

The staff at Moundsley are absolutely amazing. So caring and loving. The carers, nurses and all admin staff have been so attentive and loving to my aunt. I visited daily for 6 weeks and the place was always clean, the staff and residents always smiling and happy. Highly recommended this home for
anyone's family.

During the time my mother spent at Moundsley Hall, I was kept up to date with regards to the treatment that my mother was receiving and members of the staff were always willing to answer any questions put to them. The staff ratio was good, but at times could have perhaps interacted more with the
residents, although activities are provided on a regular basis. The house was always kept in a clean and respectable condition including the outside grounds, it was also beautifully decorated at Christmas and Halloween a credit to the staff involved. Any concerns with the facilities in my mother's room were dealt with in a timely manner.
Mom was given all the nursing care that she needed towards the end of her life and saved the trauma of being transferred to hospital. We were very happy with all the communication about the care during that difficult period even being contacted by off-duty staff to pass on their condolences.
Overall very happy with the care mom received at Moundsley Hall.

Although my brother was with you for just 3 weeks, his care was the best I could wish for.

Our experience of Moundsley Hall, and specifically Kensington House, is very positive. The external grounds are always well-kept and provide a pleasant place to take Mom for a stroll when we visit.
The house itself is always neat and tidy. We always find Mom and all of the other residents to be
clean and well-dressed. The staff are attentive and engaging with both residents and visitors. We always receive a full and prompt reply to any queries we may have. We appreciate the effort put into the on and off-site activities which aim to provide the residents with fun experiences.

Our dear mom was transferred from a care home to Moundsley Hall. The manager visited Mom at her care home to assess her needs which was fantastic. We then dealt with the admissions person who went above and beyond in accepting our mom into their home. From the day we transferred Mom every aspect of
her care was five-star, the home is impeccably clean and well-appointed, five stars I would say, and I would recommend this home to anyone needing expert nursing care.

My father spent the last few months of his life at Moundsley Hall, after a terrible experience at another care home. The care he received at Moundsley Hall was outstanding and restored our faith in care homes in general.
The staff and leadership are kind, committed, and thoughtful. The atmosphere
of the home is positive, the relationships are warm and the standard of food and accommodation are great. The care and nursing teams gave our family lots of attention and support as my Father's dementia and health declined.
We could not recommend the home more, and we will miss seeing the wonderful team on our visits.

My dad has advanced dementia and has been in Buckingham House since Nov 2022. He has a clean, spacious room and the overall grounds and living spaces are all very clean and welcoming. Dad is given the support he needs and is included in activities where it is possible and when he is awake. These
include gardening, cooking and play activities.
The regular staff all know him, speak to him and understand his needs. Occasionally we get a hiccup when there are a lot of agency staff on shift who do not know him or odd jobs like changing room lightbulbs can take a few asks.
Overall I am pleased with his case and feel content that he is happy, safe and well cared for.
The team here work hard so a big thank you from me and the family.

In my first 3 and a half years Mom was here the service has been lovely with very caring staff. However communication has always been an issue. During the last year the residential dynamics have changed and the use of a lot of agency staff there did not seem to be the level of caring we were used to
previously. Communication needs sorting, the home could text/email families regarding closures. Also emails to the manager have gone unanswered. Very disappointed that no one asked where Mom was during her 5 week stay at hospital before she passed away!

I am the wife of a resident since April 2024. He has settled in well now with the help of his twin sister who is a resident also. He has received wonderful care from all the daytime staff but I am unsure of the night staff. My only concern is the fact that the system regarding care of laundry has a
lot to be desired. To date, my husband has lost a coat, 3 pairs of jeans, 2 pairs of trousers and a cap. Often he is in someone else's clothes. I think there should be a member of management there at all times.

I wish to thank all the staff of this care home for all they did for my mother. I found all the staff to be courteous and polite on all my visits to my mother. I wish you all the very best. Thank you all.
