View Full Details of Westley CourtMy husband has been a resident for ten months at Westley Court, at all times he has been treated with care and dignity. The staff are always friendly and helpful and do their best to make his stay as comfortable as possible.
Mom was on end-of-life care when she arrived at Westley Court. During such a traumatic time, we cannot thank the staff enough for the thoughtfulness and care they provided to both mom and the family members. We could not have wished for her to be in a better place. What an amazing standard of care. We cannot thank you all enough.
My mom had a stroke and could not be looked after at home several nursing homes were recommended the minute we saw Westley Court we knew as a family this is where we wanted our mom to be . We were met by the lovely Manager who took us round and showed us the rooms which were lovely I would describe it as home from home . Mom was moved into Westley Court and the minute she arrived all the staff have been amazing nothing is to much for them .They have been amazing and we cannot thank all the staff enough for the kindness and care they have showed my mom .
I was admitted to Westley Court Care Home in July 2019 in 'end stage heart failure with a life expectancy of 3-6 months'. Within days I saw a GP and Heart Failure Nurse who reviewed all of my medication, breathing 'aids' and activities. In that time I developed swallowing problems (and we had the 'Covid Lock Down') and I am still in heart failure with other problems but it is all 'managed' by the HF nurse and staff in the home. The rooms here are all large, overlook 'green belt' and have their own en suites,. A lounge/diner surrounds an open air dining/BBQ area and is also used for regular entertainment and activities. Food is good and varied and may be brought to the room or served in the lounge/diner. Staff and management are 'caring' and reliable. Suffice to say that when my husband developed Parkinsons and dementia, my family had no hesitation is applying for a place for him here.
Mum was here three weeks for respite. When we visited she always looked happy and well cared for. The staff were so caring and treated mum with dignity and respect. The whole atmosphere was warm, friendly and relaxed. At the end of her stay, mum was sad to be leaving her friends and told us she had a lovely time. The Manager made the process of arranging the stay very easy and was approachable throughout.
I have risided here for over six months and although being recently widowed, I was made very welcome but given the space to greive. I now feel part of a happy group of people, both service users and care providers.
Nan's stay was breif, but in this short time she was well cared for. The bedroom she was in was calm, peaceful & extremely clean. Staff were positive, attentive & happy. Thank you.
Brilliant service and amazing staff. My dad is looked after so well and seems happy to be here in the situation he is in. He is always clean & tidy and has everything he needs.
Dad has only been at the carehome for a couple of months, but in that time he has been well cared for by all the carers. The staff are all lovely! The only thing is they could do with more entertainment/activities.
Security needs - management attention - no staff around, at least 4/5 mins looking - could not locate, could not find anyone to hand over to relative. Could easily have been wandering around building. Relative wanting meds - tired. Would not of course wander! So have some system if reception staff are not around or carers. Staff did not know how to let me out.
Overall, very satisfied with everyone here. Mom was very well looked after and we are grateful. The carers and nursing staff deserve to be paid a lot more considering what they have to do compared to the costs that are paid to the home.
Our experience of Westley Court over the last 22 months is one of a nursing home that has a dedicated staff who really do care for the patients. They treat them with great dignity and respect. The staff are always friendly and helpful whenever you visit and the manager is first-class and takes great pride in the nursing home and the patients in her care.
I have to say the carers were exceptional. They went beyond their work to help and support my mum. There is a great team. The manager is also very understanding and compassionate.
Westley Court is my second experience of a care home. Here, a professional and capable staff have to cope on 12-hour shifts with everything that is required with 2 having to do the work of 3, as is usual. They deal with what comes their way with good humour and thoughtfulness. I find all the staff easy to get on with and appreciate what they do. Inevitably there are sometimes long waits for basic services, but this is a consequence of understanding. These comments may seem bland but they are accurate.
I have been visiting my friend since her illness obliged her to go into care. As an outsider, I cannot comment on everything, only what I have personally observed. She is not capable of participating in activities, so that category is irrelevant. However, I can testify that the staff are kind, friendly and helpful and treat her respectfully. She was, for a while, in another local care home and I can see that Westley Court suits her better.
Exceptional service from all staff members. Mom has all her wishes met and they cannot do enough for you either as a resident or family member. Care needs are brilliant and always taken care of quickly and efficiently. Would recommend this care home to anyone that asks.
Mom wasn't coping with her needs at home and she had been in hospice for a few weeks where she picked up enough to go into a home. We were told Westley Court had a place and they promptly arranged to come out to meet my mom to make sure they could offer her her needs. Myself and my sister looked around Westley Court and were impressed with the look of the Home. It's in lovely grounds with scenic views. It looked clean and the staff were nice and on the ball. Mom was offered a nice ensuite room. The staff are friendly and approachable. Mom is well taken care of. We feel she is well taken care of and we are happy for her to stay there as she is very well supported. Her medical needs are been taken care of. They occasionally do activities ie bingo, a singer etc visiting. They have a lovely recently redecorating dining/sitting room for all their uses. Mom seems to like being taken care of we are grateful for Mom to be taken care of somehwere we are happy for her to be.
I mentioned my brother looked a bit unkempt - long nails, hair, beard and moustache. The lovely deputy manager explained very kindly that he was refusing to have things done. However, the next time I saw him, he was shaved, haircut and nails all trimmed - more like the man I know. Thank you for always looking after him with his best interests first. Thank you for listening and changing things. He feels much better. Love the new manager's in-situ's attitude.
My mum had a longer than expected stay in hospital which resulted in my dad having to go into respite for a few weeks, not an easy decision and obviously we were all concerned about putting dad into residential care. Westley Court from the minute we arrived put our minds at ease, the place is lovely, spacious, clean and in beautiful grounds and wonderful views. The staff were all friendly and took their time to get to know dad and understand his personality as well as his medical needs- nothing was too much trouble. You could visit anytime, and as I travelled for work would often turn up at different times of the day/night and my dad was always happy, clean and content. I would not hesitate in recommending Westley Court. All I can say is thank you to the wonderful staff for taking care of dad so well and treating him with respect, patience and dignity during his time there.
After a traumatic time for the family during Covid 2020 dad was admitted to Westley Court from hospital. Immediately we felt that a weight had been lifted from us as dad was made to feel very welcome. The care dad is receiving has been exemplary although his behaviour can be challenging at times. All of the staff treat dad with dignity and respect and look past this awful dementia and see dad for the person he once was. They take time to talk to him and listen to his many stories and reassure him when needed. Dad is always clean and tidy and the cook offers lovely food which dad really enjoys. It’s been challenging for everyone due to the lack of visiting over the last couple of years, but communication over recent months has been really good due to the employment of a dedicated activities person who regularly does FaceTime calls with me as I live over a hundred miles away. Thank you to all the staff for becoming my dad's new family, we appreciate everything you all do.
