View Full Details of Abbey Court Care Home - Avery HealthcareNot happy with the care my mum received at abbey court care home . Her support plan was not adhered to by any means of which led to many many issues failing her care , mobility issues meant she was left to sit alone in her room carers would not even turn on the TV or Radio for comfort . Fluids were not replenished often and mum with dementia was not prompted to drink enough even though the hottest days, carers do not engage properly staff and management unapproachable lots of issues relating to my mums decline and hospitalisation and of which are to upsetting to mention.
The home itself is not to bad, could do with a bit of paint here and there and the carpets could do with a clean, not to much activity wise went on, a dance here and there with a singAlong, would be nice have seen the carers engaging with the residents and doing other stimulating activities, the lay out of the lounge isn't really homely feeling, the chairs could be set a little better as residents are sat with their backs to the tv,or the tv isn't in the right place for what it should be, photos on the social media page could be a little better like all other care homes, appear to be very dull and not showing faces, compared to another home, where it appears that they do alot more. Can't fault the deputy manager, she's approachable, didn't have a very good experience over all with the home with many issues!!! to which I will not comment on at the moment. Some of the carers show care and compassion, but not all of them, one of the nursing staff was ok, the other incompetent!!
The carers and nurses at Abbey Court are very caring and kind to our mom. Nothing is ever too much trouble. When I have had problems with Mom's laundry, the lady from the laundry service has come down in person and sorted it out straight away. Mom has a very poor appetite and the carers always give her alternatives to what is on the menu, as they know what she likes. Anytime I have needed to speak to the manager or senior nurse (now deputy manager), they see me straight away. They are both very approachable and sort out any issues straight away.
My sister is very happy in her home and we feel she is much better in herself. Food is very good and care is good. She likes the car,ers so we are happy in ourselves with her care etc.
We have always found all the staff members helpful and friendly. We are very happy with the care provided for my husband. My husband seems very happy and settled here, which means so much.
The staff ar mostly very caring and kind. Mom is generally very contented at Abbey Court. We have had ants in a drawer but these have now gone. Mom enjoys her food. Generally we have no complaints and would like to thank the staff for their support.
You have a wonderful set of staff. Care and staff are excellent, very caring for residents and relatives. However, the upstairs decor is tired and the bedroom/lounge could do with a refurbishment. Some bedrooms have mismatched furniture and finishings.
My mother came to Abbey Court Care Home in a very poorly state of health after several stays in hospital. The home managed to restore her to a much better condition. So successful was this, that some eight years later we were able to celebrate her 100th birthday! Abbey Court staff provided a special lunch and were very attentive throughout and Mum said how much she had enjoyed both the birthday and the whole time she had spent with them. Thank you.
My Mom has been continually unwell following being mistreated for 8 days for severe constipation. I have been in the home every day caring for my Mom and on this day had just stepped out of the room after settling Mom to sleep. I stood in the hallway speaking to other relatives as two young carers went into Mom's room, exiting 5 seconds later, they said they had re-positioned Mom and walked off. I went back in to find Mom exactly how I had left her!
The staff are very caring. Food is the best. The room is a decent size and plenty of activities for residents. I would not want my mom to go anywhere else.
The best care home around, the staff are very friendly and very caring to the residents. The food that they serve is amazing, they have a lot of variety. The rooms are a very good size compared to other care homes locally. I would not want my nan to go anywhere else.
My mum moved to Abbey Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare after a very bad illness and a long stay in the hospital. She found the move very hard and upsetting, which made it very upsetting for me. We had a few teething problems with staff, but these were quickly dealt with by the manager. My mum doesn’t really need a lot of care of as she dresses herself, and I take care of her personal care. So I find she is pretty much left alone other than taking her to and from the dining room for her meals. You get a very warm welcome when entering the home, staff on the whole are very nice and approachable with the exception of one or two. I have made my mum's room as homely as possible, although I think it could do with a deep clean more regularly.
My mom moved into Abbey Court Care Home on August 1st 2023. I truly believe your home promotes and delivers personalised, resident-centred care. When she moved in staff spent time with her, introducing themselves and chatting, finding out what she likes and doesn’t like. This might sound trivial but it made such a difference to my mom, feeling welcomed and valued. All staff, both day and night, are brilliant! They are all caring, attentive, responsive and take my mom’s safety needs seriously. such as her risk of falling. The handymen are amazing, they have helped so much. She feels she has made friends with them and loves a cheeky joke with them both. The reception staff and administration are so welcoming, helpful and friendly. Domestic staff chat to my mom and she loves waiting to see who is on each day. The chef and team consistently offer choices of nutritious meals. Abbey Court, thank you. You have made such a difference to my mom and her family and friends’ lives. In our opinion, you are outstanding.
I have found the experience over the last nine months very pleasant. My mother has settled well and appears happy - her needs are met and she appears to love the staff who are all friendly and caring. The member of staff on the front desk always greets you with a friendly smile and chat and the matron is always approachable and willing to address any concerns.
Since my mum entered the home a month ago, the staff and management have been superb very caring very approachable unfriendly, could not wish for a better nursing home. Nothing is too much trouble!
I visit my father at Abbey Court Care Home two to three times a week, I am always made to feel welcome and any enquiries I might have about him are answered straight away. I have been able to access haircuts, chiropody services and eye tests for my father in-house and have been impressed by the daily menu in the dining room which includes seasonal fare and a choice of meals for the residents. I am also kept fully informed of any setbacks, illnesses or falls that my father might have, as his power of attorney and next of kin.
The care and attention my mum has received during her time here is excellent, Communication between Abbey Court and our family has been very good and always ring straight away if they have any concerns. All staff are very polite and always ready to answer any questions we have regarding Mum's care.
Welcoming environment. Professional caring staff.
You are made to feel very welcome upon arrival. All service users looked after which is very pleasant to see. Lovely ambience.
Always feel welcome when visiting, staff are friendly and efficient. I have no concerns regarding my mother's residence at Abbey Court.
