View Full Details of Briar Hill HouseMy mother has been in Briar Hill for 6 1/2 years. She has always been well cared for. Lately I feel that things are not quite the same as they used to be and maybe the MHA could do with making some improvements.
My experience as been brilliant as had to put my mum in care due to her health condition unable to walk and stand . I can see my mum really gets on with all the staff and all staff have warmed to her and I genuinely feel she is looked after they all treat her so nice . I would like to thank each and everyone at Briar Hill their so nice
Very friendly, welcoming place. Management and all staff ensure my husband is safe and well cared for. The team go over and above, and always do their best to brighten his day. Briar Hill includes family members with the care they provide, and social events that take place. I know, and feel confident he is in the best place to be looked after.
Briar Hill House is excellent. The staff are patient and caring to residents and relatives alike. A first class service is provided in all areas - nursing, care, kitchen, laundry, housekeeping and so on. Well done and thank you.
My brother is well looked after at Briar Hill. The management, nursing and care colleagues give their time and commitment to providing a safe happy environment for residents. On visiting I'm always greeted friendly and warmly, informed on what's been happening it's like a home from home environment. Time is taken to know a resident on a personal level.
My brother has been at Briar Hill for 2and Half years he is very happy there the staff are very friendly .This is his third care home and he is very happy there, Well when you stay at a place for over 2years that speaks for it self.
My husband as been a resident living at briar hill for over 7 years He as been cared for amazingly so much the staff have made us as a family feel like we are able to continue a life knowing he is loved and looked after so are we when we visit
Although this is the most difficult time for us as a family. Without the care and kindness of the staff, we would not cope. The staff have shown a true kindness, warmth and compassion I never knew possible. Special humans that we as family could not do without. Our dad is in safe, kind, caring hands.
Staff went out of their way to ensure my relatives were included in the Christmas festivities regardless of their ability and capacity. Not only were there activities, the hinge was decorated nicely and staff made it as festive and homely as possible.
Briar Hill House is one big family. All staff are so lovely, and the welcome you get as you come into the care home is fabulous. All residents are treated as individuals with staff going the "extra mile" to make them happy and well looked after. There are numerous activities for the residents to get involved with and those who need extra support are included too. A wonderful, happy care home for the residents.
Both management and care staff take a keen interest in the pursuits/hobbies of the residents. There are always a range of activities taking place on a regular basis. Communications between ourselves and the home are good but outside organisations are often slower to respond. Security and safety checks are carried out on a regular basis. Kitchen staff produce a varied menu tailored to individual needs. Perceived limited staff-resident ratio can result in some residents feeling that their needs are not met as often as they would like or have been previously.
The decision for Mum to go into residential care was huge. From the beginning, the staff at Briar Hill House Care Home have been kind, understanding and very patient. Come the day of the move, staff were waiting ready to say hello and welcome Mum in. All of the staff did their utmost to be welcoming, accommodating, caring and patient. They helped to get Mum’s loved possessions around her, they helped Mum to get to know other residents and did their very best to help her settle. Two months later, Mum looks healthier, she feels safe and cared for and in her own words, she feels at home. She can choose to have her hair done, go to craft sessions or listen to a singer and go to the weekly church service. She can chat to the staff and other residents, she can welcome visitors and during the nights there is always someone to turn to. The family cannot thank all of the staff enough. Mum’s last few months in her own home were very difficult. Now we all know she is safe in caring hands 24 hours a day.
I was so unsure about having to put my dad in a home, how wrong was I! On my first visit to see the home and I was so, so impressed. The staff was all so welcoming and friendly and put my mind at ease when they said the words " It's not just a care home, it's your dad's home". How right were they! Felt like home from home!
There are care homes and there are caring homes. I class Briar Hill House as a caring home and that is down to the staff. I have only praise for the wonderful staff that work there. They went out of their way to make my mum very well cared for and I can only give them my thanks.
In the 2.5 weeks since my dad moved in, he has had the very best of care. Nothing is too much trouble and all the staff without exception, have been excellent and caring and aware that this is a difficult time for family, as well as Dad. There is a friendly, happy atmosphere and it is a very pleasant place to spend time.
My mum was admitted here in late 2021 and passed away shortly after. The care that Mum received was exemplary. We could not have wished for more. Mum loved a good laugh and I was astonished to see that the entire team took to Mum and had a good old laugh (and sing) with her too. We cried lots also. The staff felt like an extension to the family. The staff made us all feel very welcome and responded superbly as Mum's condition rapidly deteriorated (which we were expecting, as she had just left hospital with an end-of-life prognosis). The home was spotlessly clean and the food was lovely with daily, home-cooked choices. Every member of staff deserves praise: Kitchen staff, Chaplain, cleaners, maintenance, carers, nurses, admin, young and old - every single one of them gave Mum, the best experience. In Mum's final few days the staff were expert at balancing their duties and being considerate of our needs too. Not once did we feel in the way or a nuisance. Thanks all.
Honestly couldn’t ask for more caring and considerate people! When it comes to my brother they are so professional, caring and loving! I’m so at ease with him at Briar Hill House knowing he is 1000% looked after and cared for! Even when it comes to myself visiting they are all so attentive, even when I have a little break down they are there handing me the tissues and making sure I’m okay! Lovely people with a lovely mentality!
A professionally run care home with a great team of care workers, office and management staff who work together to give excellent support and dignity to the residents. High standards of cleanliness and a calm, relaxed, homely environment for service users like myself to be part of the residence's ongoing support.
The family could not recommend highly enough. The time, attention and care you all gave to my father-in-law in his final days, even when he was anxious and frustrated will never be forgotten. We would like to give special mention to one member of staff in particular for his gentle nature and patience in calming my father-in-law. Another member of staff was also amazing. Their first-ever shift was also my father-in-law's first day and he bonded with them, always remembering their name, and even sharing a slice of cake with them the night he passed. We are all forever grateful that it was this member of staff with him when he finally passed. It's a comfort to us all that he was not alone. Although we have picked out specific individuals, we know that every single person working there have the same level of compassion and resilience. Every one of you are exemplary in your work.
Dad needed respite and as my nan had been a resident for many years before, we were extremely happy that Dad could go into Briar Hill on this occasion. Dad was very well looked after, made to feel very welcome and was very sad to leave. We will look to Briar Hill again should Dad need to go for respite. Thank you to all the wonderful, caring staff.
