View Full Details of Tudor House Care HomeWe had to place my mother here, the care she had was fantastic, nothing was to much, when my mother was passing, they came in every 30 minutes, even told us to ring the bell even if we wanted a tea/coffee or something to eat, i cannot recommend enough, staff go that extra mile. THANK YOU
My Aunty has been a resident at Tudor House for a number of years. The care home was taken over by a new company about 18 mouths ago and a new manager put in place. Since then the service provided has greatly improved. There has been a complete change of culture to one of respect, dignity and above all, providing an environment whereby my Aunty feels like Tudor House is her home, she feels safe, her views listened to and her choices considered. The care provided supports her physical, mental and wellbeing needs. It is clear that this culture is being driven from the top down, the manager is very proactive and ensures my Aunty and the wider family are at the centre of her care. Staff are well trained, kind, friendly and responsive to my Aunties needs. Her mental health and wellbeing has improved greatly, as has her general happiness. We are very pleased with how the service is run and the difference it makes to residents lives. I would highly recommend Tudor House Care Home.
Knowing your loved one needs care is a daunting and scary thought but when it happens within 24 hours and emergency respite has to be found it is frightening, stressful and emotional. In this emergency we were told that Tudor Court could help and provide the care needed. I can't speak highly enough of the experience that the staff have given us. Whilst it was difficult, emotional and tough for us as a family the team we were greeted as though we had been known for years, we were put at ease and advised and supported far beyond what I could have hoped for. We are early into the need for the placement but I feel totally confident, comfortable and reassured by our experience this far. Tudor Court feels like home not "a care home". As a family we could not have asked for more at such a difficult time. I can't thank the management team and staff enough for what they have done and continue to do.
It's never an easy process having to find a care home for a loved one, especially as you watch their mental capacity deteriorating and the world becomes a scary and confusing place for them. The staff at Tudor House have been attentive, supportive, and welcoming. At all times they've kept me informed of my mum's activities and health, and made sure I'm aware of any new supplies or clothing she might require. Since being in the care home, my mum has eaten well, engaged in all activities on offer, become friends a number of residents, and has settled incredibly well. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The quality of life my mum now has is better than the solitary life she led in her own house with in-home care. Having 24/7 support on site, a range of activities to keep her engaged, and a social circle around her is exactly what she needed.
Having to find a placement for your loved one is a big responsibility, having been in this situation 12 months ago, I cannot say it wasn't daunting. Being a Nurse myself I was worried that nowhere would meet my expectations. Some months on, I can honestly say the staff are always very attentive and make you feel so welcome. The home manager is visible and always available to speak to if there are any questions. There is always someone to respond to the call bells, and mostly timely. The rooms are good and the one thing that worried me was whether there would be any odours. I can honestly say there is not. I have nothing but praise for this home.
i was an emotional wreck at the thought of my husband going into a care home. After only 2 weeks respite i was amazed how well he has settled in. He seems much happier he enjoys the food, the entertainment and the company of people around him. He has a lovely bedroom and is always well groomed and clean. The carers are so friendly and have great empathy for the residence, the management and owner are very approachable and friendly, nothing is to much trouble. He has settled so well he is now a permanent resident. Happy husband, happy wife.
Lovely care home. Much better since new owners Mapleton Care Group have taken over. Allowed my mom to be more sociable with the other residents even though she is bed bound. Always on top of medical needs and dips in her health, hospital always contacted if she needs further medical assistance. The manager and staff are very approachable and caring and always keep us up to date with anything that is going on with my mom's care and health. The food choices are much better than the previous owners and there just seems to be an overall better atmosphere for my mom to live in.
My mum is in this care home we have been trying to move her for about six months. It's been taken over by a different company. The Care my mum get it not the best she's losing weight gets covered in bruises which I know can be caused by the medication. This week she received a tear to her leg but nobody seems to know how it got there. She has a lump on her head which they told my sister they would be getting a doctor to have a look. checked with a member of night staff who looked to see What was happening she could not find anything in the book. Things keep going missing from her room. Meals are not always hot because they come from their other Care Home not cooked on site anymore. At times ends with somebody else's clothes. Not a lot of entertainment residents just sit in the chairs either watching TV or listening to music like they're waiting to die. It's gone downhill from when my mom first went in there it was lovely. I have let the quality Care commission know.
I am very happy with the care my mum receives at the home. She is very settled and is starting to join in with activities more. The care, the staff show to Mum is really good. She is always clean and tidy as is the room and environment. When Mum needed to go to the hospital for a check-up the staff there said how good her skin care was.
A much improved care home which I would recommend.
Tudor House Care Home has greatly improved since the current manager has taken over. More activities in the last few months, something that had almost disappeared. My mom seems a lot happier in recent months as she had started to feel down with no activity interaction.
When Mom was discharged from hospital on end-of-life care, I wanted her to spend whatever time she had left at home. Due to factors outside of my control, this proved impossible. I was very apprehensive and upset at the prospect of looking at nursing homes for her. Choosing Tudor House proved to be the right decision. The manager, was more than happy to show us around, before we made the decision of which home to put our trust in, to look after Mom. We had a good feel about Tudor House after our visit; seeing the staff and having the manager answer our questions. Mom was only there 5 days before she died but she received the best of care. It was obvious the staff they employ are following their vocation in life rather than being there just "because it's a job." I cannot fault the professionalism, care and compassion shown to my mom. I thank all who were involved in my mom's care, and for doing everything possible to make her passing pain-free, comfortable and dignified.
My mum has been in Tudor House since February 2022. Her overall health and wellbeing has improved. The staff are friendly and approachable and Mum's needs are being met. Overall, Mum has settled in well and I feel happy and confident she is being well looked after.
My brother has lost a lot of weight since he has been at Tudor House. He suffered from gout and watches what he eats but they keep giving him food which is not the diet that he wants. He is over six feet tall and his diet is mostly baked beans and eggs so no wonder he has lost a lot of weight.
All the staff and management have been excellent and really welcoming to our aunt - they have made Tudor House really feel like it is her home. Thank you for all your hard work.
I was looking for palliative care for my mom. Having spoken to the deputy manager and having been allowed to visit and look around, I felt confident Mom would be in good hands. Any questions I had, or if I just wanted to discuss anything in the early days, I always felt I could approach the manager and she would always ensure that either she, or the nursing staff would do their very best to accommodate us. All aspects of covid safety were adhered to, at all times and the staff were very friendly and caring both to my mom and myself, especially on days where it was harder to deal with Mom's condition. Sadly Mom was only here 7 weeks, before she passed away, but her final days were made as comfortable as possible and I thank the staff for that, especially the manager, who went our of her way to help Mom adjust and cope with her situation. Thank you all.
We recently needed urgent palliative/end of life nursing care for my 94-year-old Dad. After some research, I phoned Tudor House. A member of staff took the time to listen and understand our needs and, even on a bank holiday weekend, offered to contact the off-duty home manager. Within 10 minutes, the manager called, agreed that Tudor House could accommodate Dad at short notice and talked me through what they could offer. He was incredibly kind, generous with his time and supportive, and I instantly felt we had found the right place. Everyone made a fuss of Dad and put him at ease. As it was end-of-life care, we were able to visit under strict COVID-19 controls and were looked after by kind, cheerful and supportive staff every time. Dad's bedsores eased, and he was noticeably more comfortable. When the end came, he was treated respectfully, and again, the staff rallied around to support us. I would not hesitate in recommending Tudor House to anyone else in similar circumstances.
Mum is the proudest, most independent person you could possibly meet so when she fell ill and was no longer able to look after herself it was going to be a challenge to find an establishment that would suit her needs. From the moment I met the manager, I got the sense that mum would be in good hands here and that has proven to be true. The staff all know the residents and you can tell. Whilst mum has had a couple of days where she is a bit lost and didn't understand where she was, compounded by the COVID situation there are signs in the wall of her room explaining where she is and where the family are in relation to her, she has settled very quickly and hasn't been distressed. Whenever I have had an issue with getting mum on her mobile (old people and technology don't mix) I've been able to call the home and they have sorted it. Both in the management team have been excellent and I can only recommend Tudor House in good terms.
My great nan spent the last few weeks of her life with Tudor house. They helped her with her day to day needs. I am so grateful for the help and support they offered her during her final moments. Thank you.
The staff are very dedicated and caring and nothing is too much trouble for them. My husband and myself were made very welcome each time we visited and knew that if we had any questions they would be answered. Very happy with the care given.
