View Full Details of The Green Care HomeMy mum has been cared for over the last year at The Green, Dronfield. At all times I have found the staff attentive, involved and caring towards my mum. Everyone knows their role and are keen to listen to relatives and understand how they can best support mum. I have learned that the more I support them and ask questions, the better they can care for mum. The staff know the external support mechanisms (NHS and NHS Adult healthcare for Older adults) and can help navigate that bureaucracy. Placing mum into a care home was a massive step for all involved. The Green and the staff understand this and have been hugely supportive to all parties. I would certainly recommend The Green.
Needing to move my mother in law asap, I was bamboozled with all the care homes around us. After being told about the green we came for a visit and everyone was friendly and had a really nice feel about it. Very homely. She's now been here a month and has settled down and praises the home and staff highly. She also has made some good friends who we see her with regularly
My husband has been in the Green for nearly two years and I have found all the staff very caring. He has had some issues and he has been looked after very well. Even when he has been really ill he has had excellent care.
A huge thank you to the staff and management of the Green Care Home for creating a very special care home experience. My parents were very well cared for in this very special home. The care and effort from the staff was astonishing. I found the staff to consistently kind, patient, loving and compassionate towards residents. A true 5* experience. (Yes, the Green might not have the flashiest of facilities, but it offered excellent value for money - and most importantly the staff team were incredible)
My father was a resident from May 2024. The care he received was excellent and his end-of-life treatment was handled with empathy. The nursing staff and care workers were lovely with my dad and family. The rooms and food were of a high quality and I can highly recommend The Green Care Home.
My mum was cared for during the last 4 months of her life at The Green, Dronfield, between June and October 2024. I cannot fault the care that she received. Everyone, from the Management down, was so professional and friendly. She viewed them all as her friends. She received medical attention as needed which was a huge relief to our family. There is no shortage of entertainment and activities to keep the residents engaged and occupied. All areas of the home are spotlessly clean and comfortable. I will forever be grateful that Mum received the best care she could from the wonderful staff.
My father was a resident for the last month of his life and received very good care from the staff at The Green. The nurses in particular are excellent, especially considering how busy they are. The end-of-life care was extremely caring and considerate. This has been my only experience of a care home so I have nothing to compare with. The rooms are adequate (certainly for non-mobile residents) but a little dated and well-used. I would certainly recommend The Green for anyone requiring care with nursing.
The Green Care Home cared for my mum from the end of July 2023 and my dad from February 2024 to May 2024. I will never forget the kindness of the staff. Its staff are its main asset in my view and the most important area to get right. They treated Mum and Dad with care, respect, dignity and appropriately used friendliness and humour. They were very approachable and made time to discuss particularly mum's needs as her needs were higher. At times I telephoned every night and the nursing staff always gave you a full update. They have 41 residents so I really appreciate the time they spent. When you visited they were welcoming and the staff were kind to me. It is well managed, with approachable management, which looks to the future in terms of improvements they can make. Areas were refurbished in the time Mum was in there. It is a resident-centred home which provides experiences and activities to enhance the residents' lives. I trusted that my mum and dad were in safe hands.
The Green took care of my father after he was recovering from a bout of pneumonia. They took such lovely care of him and really did help him on the road to recovery. He really needed a rest after being so poorly, and that is precisely what he got at The Green. The staff were so kind and caring and when he left there, he was very sorry to say goodbye. I would wholeheartedly recommend The Green. It is a well-organised and beautifully run care home with a very high standard of care.
Mum has now been a resident at The Green 2 years next month, and nothing has changed since my Mum had been here for 6 months. I have nothing but praise for all the staff and everything they do for Mum. Everyone is so compassionate and caring and I wouldn’t want Mum to be anywhere but The Green. A fabulous refurbishment has taken place in the last few months, it looks wonderful, and welcoming, and is always spotless. Thank you to you all, I don’t know what we would have done without you.
The staff at The Green are caring and compassionate and do their best to make my mum feel settled and cared for. All the staff, from the manager to the maintenance men, are all great with her and treat her like the individual she is. Her room and the home in general is clean and well-maintained, and my mum has been able to personalise her room with her own furniture and pictures etc. The Green is well run and it seems that the majority of the staff are permanent, not bank, which is reassuring. There is a wide programme of activities and entertainment on offer if you want to join in, but participation is optional of course. Overall, the atmosphere at The Green is positive and I am happy that my mum is cared for. Thank you to all at The Green.
The staff are friendly and caring and my aunt has settled in quickly. She now has significant needs and these are compassionately met. The home is light and airy with well-maintained sitting areas with views into a well-kept garden. I’m sure my aunt would rather still be in her own home but sadly this is no longer possible and this is a very good second best. I am very grateful to my cousins for finding it for her.
The Green Care Home has taken care of my mother for the last 2 years of her life. The staff could not have been more caring and are wonderful and compassionate. The manager runs the place in a friendly and professional manner. I can recommend The Green to anyone. It’s well-run and ultra-clean. 10/10 from me.
My father spent his final months at The Green. I never once drove away concerned about the care he was receiving. The care staff quickly got to know my father (and his ways!) well, easing his transition into the home with skill and care. The consistency of staff (both personnel and approach) enabled him to trust and settle into a care pattern. That he felt known and was comfortable with the carers was evident in our visits. The nursing provision was skilled in delivery, and communication with us as a family was very good. I felt fully informed of his condition and progress at all times. The transition from ‘palliative’ to an ‘end of life’ was as good as it could have been, and the space afforded to us as a family in his final hours was a gift for which we are very thankful.
From the minute you step into The Green Care Home you sense that it is a well run, happy place. The staff worked together like one big family to make sure that my dad settled into his new life with dignity, respect and a positive outlook. Everywhere is kept very clean, the laundry service is excellent and the food tasty. The carers and nursing team are amazing at the best and worst of times and their care and support of dad (and me) has been beyond expectations. Thank you everyone at The Green Care Home.
My mothers end of life care could not have been better. The nursing care my mum received during the two weeks she was there was so caring and dignified. The senior carer is amazing and the standards she maintains with her carers shows in the way the carers work and conduct themselves. As a family we could not have asked for more and the day mum passed the nurse and carers that day showed mum top class care as well as bringing five of mum's children drinks and sandwiches later that afternoon until mum sadly passed away near to midnight. I wish mum had been at The Green Care Home for longer and spent her Residential time here before she needed nursing care. The amenities and activities are all well managed and catered for. No wonder CQC have rated this home as Good which I would agree is safe, effective, responsive, caring, and well-led. Thank you to everyone at The Green for looking after our mum and caring for her with such excellent care in her last moments with us. xxxx
Generally, I am very happy with the care received by my relative. Although communication with him is very difficult, the staff seem to work hard to make sure he is involved in the daily life of the home. The nursing care is good. Staff are approachable if rather rushed at times. His room is small but adequate. Having been there a few months he seems to have settled in well.
I searched and visited several care homes to find one suitable for my mother-in-law. I was despairing until I visited The Green. At once, I felt this was a place more suited to her needs. It was clean, friendly and had a lovely fresh smell. The room we chose for Mother was a good size. Mother was at The Green for 30 months until she passed away. The care she was given throughout that time was excellent and we felt that the staff worked hard to make sure that everything was as good as it could be. We are very grateful to all the staff at the Green.
So far, I have been happy with the service at the home. The rooms and reception area are very clean and tidy. Staff are always helpful and kind too. I would maybe like to know more individual things to understand the daily routine.
Mum moved into the Green in late September 2021, 6 months into a 6-9 months terminal bone cancer diagnosis. She was in a lot of pain and discomfort, as time passed and her condition got worse, she lost the use of most parts of her body. The team at the Green were wonderful in monitoring her needs and adapting their support for her. They also supported us as a family, acknowledging the stress and sadness we were feeling at the prospect of losing our Mum, all in spite of their own problems trying to deal with the restrictions placed on them by Covid. In the final days, we were allowed unrestricted visiting which allowed us to see and speak to Mum when she was able to communicate with us.
