I live overseas, and can only talk with my mother by phone at certain times. The team at GreenCare always make it so easy for me to connect and speak with my mother providing the necessary support and guidance. This makes the value of such calls and time so worthwhile.
Equally, it is always a joy
to see my mums delight at the food served by the home, especially her breakfast
Thank you all at GreenCare

I cannot recommend 'The Green' enough. The staff are extremely caring for my mother in law and nothing is too much trouble. They also do activities like singalongs which she loves. If there are any health issues, we are contacted immediately and kept updated all the time.

Unfortunately Mum's stay at The Green was only very short as she moved there for end of life care. From the moment she arrived she was treated with the utmost care and respect, as was I during my visits. I was kept informed of all changes in her health and all my wishes were taken into consideration.
On the morning that mum passed away everyone we had contact with were superb - incredibly kind, compassionate and respectful. I really cannot recommend The Green highly enough.

On first impressions we were very impressed with the cleanliness and variety of public rooms. The residents room are comfortable and can made personal to them. An important feature for us was there was no unpleasant odour. The staff we initially met were informative and easy to talk to.
My relative
has been in this CH since Dec 2024. She has received wonderful care throughout. Initially she was very weak following quite a long hospital stay unable to feed herself properly and immobile but mentally very astute.
Almost 12 months on she has overcome all of this thanks to the care she has received.
The staff are kind attentive and understanding. There is a constant varied program of events and activities.
A recent new addition of a salon for the residents to be pampered is well liked.
The menus look amazing varying over a 2 week period.
Staff ratio to residents is very good.
My relative is happy and settled now she is her usual self.

Our mother initially went into The Green Care Home for respite care following a fall and inability to care for herself safely at home. She was initially reluctant to leave her home of many years and uncertain if this was the right place for her, and understandably it took a good few weeks for her to
settle. She now considers The Green to be her home and describes it as "like one big family". The staff have all been very supportive of her and communicative with us; they are friendly, patient and kind and take our mother's health and care needs seriously. We are enormously grateful to them. I would not hesitate to recommend The Green to anyone looking for residential care for their loved ones.

My Mum has been in The Green since Feb 2025
The level of care she receives is excellent
All the carers and other staff are always so friendly
Although my Mum doesn't join in much with all the activities especially in the afternoon as she usually goes back to bed after lunch , the staff always put
so much effort into making it fun for the resident's .

Its never easy making a decision for a loved one to go into residential care but the help ,understanding and care given to my mum and myself from all the staff and management was exceptional .
The home is very clean , well maintained and well managed , nothing is too much trouble for any of the
staff and they are always willing to help and advise be it for care issues or nursing queries.
There are regular meetings for relatives to update on events and an opportunity for relatives to air views or any concerns
Food is plentiful and vairied and there is regualr entertainment and activities .
I cannot fault The Green and would reccommend it to anyone who has to make that difficult decisison , your loved one will be in safe hands here.
Reply from T Jaiswal, The Green Team at The Green Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback.
We understand how difficult it can be to make the decision for a loved one to move into residential care, so it truly means a lot to hear that you and your mum felt supported throughout the process. Our team at The Green takes great pride in providing not only high-quality care but also comfort, reassurance, and open communication for both residents and their families.
We're delighted that you've found the home welcoming, well-managed, and full of life. Your kind words will be shared with all of our staff, who will be so pleased to know their efforts have made a difference.
Thank you again for your recommendation and trust in us.

My mum has been cared for over the last year at The Green, Dronfield. At all times I have found the staff attentive, involved and caring towards my mum. Everyone knows their role and are keen to listen to relatives and understand how they can best support mum. I have learned that the more I support
them and ask questions, the better they can care for mum.
The staff know the external support mechanisms (NHS and NHS Adult healthcare for Older adults) and can help navigate that bureaucracy.
Placing mum into a care home was a massive step for all involved. The Green and the staff understand this and have been hugely supportive to all parties. I would certainly recommend The Green.

Needing to move my mother in law asap, I was bamboozled with all the care homes around us. After being told about the green we came for a visit and everyone was friendly and had a really nice feel about it. Very homely. She's now been here a month and has settled down and praises the home and staff
highly. She also has made some good friends who we see her with regularly

A huge thank you to the staff and management of the Green Care Home for creating a very special care home experience.
My parents were very well cared for in this very special home.
The care and effort from the staff was astonishing. I found the staff to consistently kind, patient, loving and compassionate
towards residents.
A true 5* experience.
(Yes, the Green might not have the flashiest of facilities, but it offered excellent value for money - and most importantly the staff team were incredible)

My mum was cared for during the last 4 months of her life at The Green, Dronfield, between June and October 2024. I cannot fault the care that she received. Everyone, from the Management down, was so professional and friendly. She viewed them all as her friends. She received medical attention as needed
which was a huge relief to our family. There is no shortage of entertainment and activities to keep the residents engaged and occupied. All areas of the home are spotlessly clean and comfortable. I will forever be grateful that Mum received the best care she could from the wonderful staff.

My father was a resident for the last month of his life and received very good care from the staff at The Green. The nurses in particular are excellent, especially considering how busy they are. The end-of-life care was extremely caring and considerate.
This has been my only experience of a care home
so I have nothing to compare with. The rooms are adequate (certainly for non-mobile residents) but a little dated and well-used.
I would certainly recommend The Green for anyone requiring care with nursing.

The Green Care Home cared for my mum from the end of July 2023 and my dad from February 2024 to May 2024. I will never forget the kindness of the staff. Its staff are its main asset in my view and the most important area to get right. They treated Mum and Dad with care, respect, dignity and appropriately
used friendliness and humour. They were very approachable and made time to discuss particularly mum's needs as her needs were higher. At times I telephoned every night and the nursing staff always gave you a full update. They have 41 residents so I really appreciate the time they spent. When you visited they were welcoming and the staff were kind to me. It is well managed, with approachable management, which looks to the future in terms of improvements they can make. Areas were refurbished in the time Mum was in there. It is a resident-centred home which provides experiences and activities to enhance the residents' lives. I trusted that my mum and dad were in safe hands.

The Green took care of my father after he was recovering from a bout of pneumonia. They took such lovely care of him and really did help him on the road to recovery. He really needed a rest after being so poorly, and that is precisely what he got at The Green. The staff were so kind and caring and when
he left there, he was very sorry to say goodbye. I would wholeheartedly recommend The Green. It is a well-organised and beautifully run care home with a very high standard of care.

The staff at The Green are caring and compassionate and do their best to make my mum feel settled and cared for. All the staff, from the manager to the maintenance men, are all great with her and treat her like the individual she is. Her room and the home in general is clean and well-maintained, and
my mum has been able to personalise her room with her own furniture and pictures etc. The Green is well run and it seems that the majority of the staff are permanent, not bank, which is reassuring. There is a wide programme of activities and entertainment on offer if you want to join in, but participation is optional of course. Overall, the atmosphere at The Green is positive and I am happy that my mum is cared for. Thank you to all at The Green.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.810)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.810) out of 10 for The Green Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.810 for The Green Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (211 Excellents x 5) + (45 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 258 Ratings = 4.81
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Green Care Home is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 41 registered maximum number of service users is 8.2, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
