Although my mother was only at The Green for ten days to receive end of life care, I was extremely impressed with every aspect of her care. The home is well decorated and spotlessly clean; it felt more like a hotel. My mother’s room was rearranged and her favourite pictures were hung on the wall making
her room very homely. The staff were kind and professional and kept her comfortable and pain-free. The home is very well managed and communication was superb. The strict rules regarding PPE and Covid testing were well adhered to, yet we were made to feel very welcome at any time. My mother was treated with respect and dignity and had I known care homes could be like this, I would not have feared it. There was a lovely feeling of calmness and the other residents were happy, smiling and laughing. I cannot fault The Green over those ten days, knowing my mother did not suffer in any way here is such an enormous comfort and I would have no hesitation in recommending it. Thankyou.

My Dad was in this home for the last 2 weeks of his life. The care given to him was extremely good, the staff where always available for a chat, and kept me informed of his condition. They looked after home with compassion and kindness. They were there for him in his last few hours and for this I will
be forever grateful. I can not praise the staff at The Green enough.

Our friend recently passed away at The Green in Dronfield after being a resident since November 2020. Prior to this, he'd had an accident resulting in a severe stroke and multiple injuries to add to the cancer he was already suffering from. He'd been hospitalised for 2 months prior to The Green. My
wife and I held LPA on his behalf and chose The Green for our friend because my mother had been happily resident there and we had been impressed with the care she received. Once again, I cannot praise the management and staff at The Green highly enough. While they could not reverse his paralysis or restore his mental capacity he improved both physically and mentally during his time there. Most important to him was the company and the banter with staff. Although he could at times be difficult and challenging, he was always met with great care and respect. Management and staff were also very helpful to us. I would happily recommend The Green and will gladly move in myself if and when the time comes.

My dear friend was admitted to The Green on the 9th January 2021 after having suffered a very serve stroke in November. He was disabled down his left side and doubly incontinent. His speech was limited. The care he received from all the nursing staff and the young care workers who were so careful, attentive
and so supportive was invaluable. Because of Covid, I was unable to visit (apart from window visits) but could see through the window all the attention he was receiving. I cannot praise the staff enough; nothing was too much trouble.

I would like to commend the Home Manager and all the staff for the sterling way they have handled the Covid pandemic. The Green Care Home in Dronfield went into lockdown well before the rest of the country, to safeguard the welfare of the staff and residents and thanks to the Manager's care and guidance
we have not lost any residents.
We visited my mother-in-law for the first time a few weeks ago and she is well, content and also seems to have put on weight, which is great news.
I would not hesitate to recommend The Green to anyone looking for a home with staff who really care about the very important job that they do and the people they do it for. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have found a home that has welcomed my mother-in-law and cared for her so well.

Having looked at dozens of care homes when I could no longer care for my mother at home, I despaired at ever finding somewhere that I deemed suitable, that was until someone told me about The Green.
When you first go through the doors it is more like a hotel than a care home, the place is spotless.
The
staff are quite clearly highly trained and they seem to have a real passion about the work that they do, nothing is too much trouble for them. I would like to take this opportunity to thank every one of them for working so hard during these difficult times and ensuring the safety of all the residents.

I managed to get my mum moved into The Green after a bad experience in another local care home. Since the move, Mum is much happier with the standard of care and friendly staff. During this difficult time they have kindly allowed me managed visits which has significantly helped my mum's wellbeing.

My mother went into care as she was finding it difficult to cope on her own with dementia, this was last November and after the first couple of stressful weeks she has settled in very well. From the start of mum's residency, we found the home provided a secure and comfortable environment.
The staff were friendly, caring and professional.
We never had any concerns about mum's care and security and she told us that she was happy at The Green and that the staff were her friends.
The nursing
care she received, especially towards the end of her life was excellent and both she and ourselves were supported in a dignified manner.

I spend around 1 1/2 hours a day at The Green and find that while the carers do the best they can under the circumstances, they always seem to be understaffed. Residents have to wait an unacceptable length of time for toilet requirements or other needs.

Jaissa

Jaissa Mathew

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2012

Jaissa joined The Green Care Home in September 2012, as a Staff Nurse. Jaissa has since been promoted to the role of Deputy Home Manager and now Home Manager.


Jaissa embraces the role of Home Manager whilst still performing her role as RGN (Registered General Nurse).


She is driven to provide a care home that is comfortable and welcoming to all the residents who live there, whilst ensuring all staff are performing well and keeping them abreast of all the latest clinical and care information.


Jaissa has a calm but confident nature, which allows residents and their families to feel relaxed in her presence. People often comment on what a kind and wonderful manager she is. Jaissa genuinely is very caring and takes time to listen to the resident's needs and reacts effectively and compassionately.


Nothing is too much trouble for Jaissa, she is always happy to help out, covering shifts for colleagues – she has even cancelled her holiday (twice!), to cover when one of her colleagues was off sick.


Jaissa’s extensive experience in nursing means that she is a great role model for other nurses within the home. She constantly uses her own skills to help others develop their skills further and to really get the best out of her staff.
