Overall Experience

My mother went into care as she was finding it difficult to cope on her own with dementia, this was last November and after the first couple of stressful weeks she has settled in very well. Despite her severe memory loss, she is aware of how well she is looked after and how kind the staff is so as a family we are very happy that she is so content now.

The standard of care is very good overall. Residents are offered a range of activities, staff are friendly and helpful. All residents addressed by name and treated with dignity.

Overall Experience
From the start of mum's residency, we found the home provided a secure and comfortable environment.
The staff were friendly, caring and professional.
We never had any concerns about mum's care and security and she told us that she was happy at The Green and that the staff were her friends.

The nursing care she received, especially towards the end of her life was excellent and both she and ourselves were supported in a dignified manner.

I spend around 1 1/2 hours a day at The Green and find that while the carers do the best they can under the circumstances, they always seem to be understaffed. Residents have to wait an unacceptable length of time for toilet requirements or other needs.

My mother-in-law was in The Green for the last few months of her life and was well cared for - well fed, warm and safe.
The nursing staff responded well to her changing needs and kept us well informed.

Her room was comfortable and met her needs.

Jaissa Mathew
Jaissa MathewJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2012

Jaissa joined The Green Care Home in September 2012 as a Staff Nurse. Jaissa has since been promoted to the role of Deputy Home Manager and now Home Manager.

Jaissa embraces the role of Home Manager whilst still performing her role as RGN (Registered General Nurse).

She is driven to provide a care home that is comfortable and welcoming to all the residents who live there, whilst ensuring all staff are performing well and keeping them abreast of all the latest clinical and care information.

Jaissa has a calm but confident nature, which allows residents and their families to feel relaxed in her presence. People often comment on what a kind and wonderful manager she is. Jaissa genuinely is very caring and takes time to listen to the residents' needs and reacts effectively and compassionately.

Nothing is too much trouble for Jaissa, she is always happy to help out, covering shifts for colleagues – she has even cancelled her holiday (twice!), to cover when one of her colleagues was off sick.

Jaissa’s extensive experience in nursing means that she is a great role model for other nurses within the home. She constantly uses her own skills to help others develop their skills further and to really get the best out of her staff.
