View Full Details of Spencer Grove Care HomeAll staff nurses, carers, cleaners, catering and management have been excellent. There are activities and help with any requirement or special needs. Peace of mind knowing my wife is being well looked after in a clean warm environment.
The home is clean and comfortable. The staff are extremely patient, attentive, polite, competent, compassionate and caring.. There are activities for the residents if they can participate. The meals are good, and residents have more than one option. Residents are in a safe environment, which gives peace of mind.
My Father has had to move down on to the nursing floor due to his needs. I was apporached with care and asked about my thoughts. They gave me all the information I needed and told me that I did not need to be there to help move his things etc, they would be able to do all of this for him. They showed me two rooms and after seeing them and a chat about them it was clear which was the best room to meet his needs. After they had moved him, they had found some items that they thought to be special, they had kept safe untill I vistited him next time. I was very greatful for this as they were some picutres that my father had drawn and i will treatsure them. The staff are always friendly and show care and compasion.
My mother has been a resident for nearly two years and is very happy to be here. We can see on every visit the care and dedication that all staff show to make every resident day the best it can be. As a family we just want mum to be happy and well cared for and we have the peace of mind that she is well looked after. Thank you all.
Mum has been in the care of Spencer Grove since January 2023 when she was admitted on End of Life Care. From that day to this her life has improved immeasurably. Though she was well cared for at home, I could only be there for a certain number of hours and she didn't want it to be otherwise, but when she became poorly it was clear we couldn't cope between us. Mum chose Spencer Grove as her new home as they had also cared for my Dad at the end of his life, so she is where she wants to be and completely content. This is something she wants everyone who visits to know. She has friends, she has a cosy room, she is waited on for all her needs and now when I visit, we have quality time together, instead of me doing all manner of necessary chores, so it benefits us both. The Spencer Grove Team, across the board, are so caring and kind that Mum feels she is at the heart of a new family who cherish and care for her throughout each day.
I am very happy with all aspects of the care provided by Spencer Grove. My mother is extremely well cared for by all the staff, they treat her with dignity, care and compassion. Her health and wellbeing is closely monitored by the staff and nursing team, and well supported by the local GP practice. Spencer Grove offers many and varied activities that mum loves to join in. Being at Spencer Grove has given her a new lease of life, she is happy, has made many friends (both residents and staff), no longer feels lonely and feels safe and secure in her new 'home'.
My father in law has been at Spencer Grove Care Home for over a year, the staff have been extremely flexible and supportive with transitioning him into a day care environment. I am very pleased with the level of care that they are providing him.
I cannot thank the staff enough for their care of Jill. After a recent illness, with careful treatment and assistance she has recovered and is now relatively stable. As her needs changed, things were constantly assessed and altered to give her the best care. The fact that there is both residential and nursing at the same facility gives you the options you need as the persons health changes over time. There are even staff dedicated to the well-being of the mind. Keeping residents active with games, crafts, quizzes, as well as regular entertainers and other events. The staff and facility are absolutely outstanding.
We are so pleased and relieved our Mum is a part of the Spencer Grove family. She was reluctant to give up her own home but has absolutely thrived in this warm caring environment. Both her and our needs are met with professionalism and compassion; staff are always helpful with a friendly word and cheerful smile. The leadership is exceptional. Thank you.
My review is based on my overall experience since my father has been a resident at Spencer Grove. On visiting unannounced I have been very satisfied with security and impressed with the welcome I have received. My observations of the overall care of my father by the staff has always been respectfull , person centred and meets his needs with his autonomy taken into consideration. The care plans and daily diary of care recieved by my father are always upto date and reviewed regularly. I am always alerted if a fall has occurred or with any concerns. The meals are good and varied with a menu to suit all residents needs. What is reassuring is that if my father is not ready to eat at usual times staff re offer food later. There are many different activities available and my father is encouraged to take part. There is an understanding of my fathers complex needs which are many and varied. I'm unable to visit regularly so I can rest assured that my father is in competent hands.
Lovely, kind, caring, staff who have really tried to help my mum settle in even though she has struggled. They have gone to great lengths to make her feel at home. The home is immaculate and looks more like a hotel than a care facility. The activities are always fun, varied and the residents are encouraged to join in. The live music acts they have visiting really boosts the morale of the residents. Lots of smiles and most importantly laughter.
Mum has been in the home since March and has settled well. Obviously leaving your own home and independence is hard, however the staff have been wonderful with this transition and made it as easy as it can be for us all.
Spencer Grove is an excellent home for my mother. The staff are very caring and committed to helping the residents. The many activities are varied, interesting and stimulating. Mum really appreciates having everything done for her; not having to worry about household maintenance, shopping, cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc and she says the food is really good. And for me, I have peace of mind that mum is being well cared for and has help on hand if needed.
My mum has lived at Spencer Grove for around 18 months after a big decline in her health meant it wasn't safe for her to live on her own. Right from the first moment we went through the doors we knew it would be the right place for her. The staff really are miracle workers. They've helped Mum get back to a physical level we didn't think possible as a family, she's so happy and settled, she's safe and so well looked after, and she's made genuine friendships with some of the other residents too. With me not living nearby it's so reassuring for me to know that Mum is in such a great place. And with great people, I should add - the staff are just fantastic. They are brilliant with the residents, and also their families; they've always got time to discuss any thoughts or concerns. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Spencer Grove isn't just a care home - it's a home for those who live there, and somewhere you can look forward to visiting. If I could give higher ratings I would do.
From day one when my father became a resident all the staff have been friendly, courteous and helpful. My Father is very happy here. He likes the activities, especially bingo and the quizzes and also enjoys the exercises. His room is comfy and he never has any complaints about the food or staff
Well we're do we start first of all? It should be a 10 star rating. The staff is outstanding very polite very pleasant to talk to nothing is too much trouble. you can't put it down to one person it is a team effort a lot of behind the same people you don't see but they do a very very good job. I can't read this place. I lay enough.
I couldn't recommend the home enough. The staff treat people with dignity and the support is excellent. The place is always very clean with lots of activities happening. My friend has been in the home now for 3 months and is now enjoying a better quality of life, thank you Spencer Grove.
My experience of the home is very good, the staff are very caring and understanding towards the residents and visitors and are always very helpful when needed. The facilities are good, very well maintained and clean and are always very warm and cosy.
After much searching and research, my wife chose Spencer Grove Care Home for her mother. Having personally visited the home, I am impressed at the genuine care, respect and attention given by all of the staff to all of the residents. All areas of the home are clean and cared for. Residents, along with their visitors enjoy a full schedule of activities, including entertainment from singers, crafting, painting, darts and visits from a local chaplaincy, to name but a few. A full schedule of activities is posted throughout the home on a monthly basis. This helps family and friends to plan our visits and join in with the activities. The food always looks and smells good with residents having a good choice for each meal. The home has a well-maintained roof garden which my mother-in-law, along with many of the residents, enjoys visiting and is able to help plan and maintain in the warmer weather.
Staff are delightful and always willing to go the extra mile in the care of the residents. Nothing is too much trouble. Very happy with the quality of care provided. The activities provided are frequent and well thought out to engage with the residents, and visitors alike, along with social events throughout the year. The food always appears appetising and you even get a lovely cake on your birthday. It is very reassuring to know that your loved ones are so well looked after.
