View Full Details of Ashby Court Care HomeAlways pleased to see how well my step-mum looks and how she is well looked after. The staff are friendly and obviously have rapport with her. The care home itself is always clean, bright and well maintained. I understand that the bedrooms are being refreshed I would highly recommend Ashby Court and its staff.
Mum has dementia and is cared for very well. Staff are professional but are very caring and patient. She is allowed to get up and go to bed as she wants. She may not always want to eat at the dedicated meal times, but she is always fed when she is ready. There is always food and drink available. She participates in activities when she is able and enjoys the interactions. Family are kept informed of any issues, promptly as they arise. Notwithstanding the inherent confusion of mum's condition, she is happy and comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble for staff when helping mum. It's all on mum's terms, as she can cope, she is the centre of things.
My mum was at Ashby Court for 18months. I never had any concerns about her care. The nursing staff were excellent towards the end of her life. If there was any criticism it would be that sometimes it would be difficult to find a carer.
My Mum was a resident at Ashby Court from December 2023 until her death there on 27th May 2025. During that period she was cared for wonderfully well. The staff catered for her needs diligently and well and my sister and I were able to approach staff to have questions answered whenever we needed. Mum began her residency upstairs in the nursing unit but moved downstairs when her condition improved sufficiently and we were pleased with the way she was encouraged to take part in activities and communal mealtimes. As mum's condition worsened she was taken back upstairs in the last weeks of her life and was cared for with compassion and professionalism by the nurses and other carers. We were particularly grateful for the manner in which we were informed of mum's death and by the the care we and she received in the immediate aftermath. To conclude, we are very glad that mum spent her last months in such a caring environment.
Mam is well cared for. her limited needs are taken care of. She has a nice room and she eats well. She joins in with activities and has said on a number of occasions that she's happy at Ashby Court.
My Nanna has been with this care home for over 8 years. In that time we have only ever had positive experiences. The dementia unit is secure and well looked after. The staff are very friendly and do everything they can to ensure the residents are cared for in a safe and comfortable way. I would definitely recommend Ashby Court.
Brilliant team who looked after my dad and the visiting family brilliantly well. Everyone was great at what they do and were friendly and upbeat at all times. As he neared the end the nurses in particular were honest and empathetic.
Ashby Court Nursing Home provides excellent care for my mother with a dedicated staff who prioritize the well being of the residents. The facility is clean and well maintained with an excellent variety of activities to keep all residents engaged, which mother enjoys immensely. As a family we feel that mum is safe and comfortable here and we appreciate the open communication with all the staff and management at Ashby Court.
My nanna has been in this care home for the last 8+ years. The first couple of years also spent with my grandad who has sadly passed away. They lived together in a double room on the dementia unit which was very accommodating. I would often visit them both in the living room which was lovely and inviting and the staff were always friendly. The staff made my grandads final few days very comfortable and peaceful for him which we are very grateful for. Nanna is now in the nursing unit and she has a lovely room with bright light and lots of pictures on her wall. I have always had a great experience with all of the nursing staff who seem happy to be at work and have a lovely relationship with my nanna. She is always dressed well and clean. The food is prepared to a high standard and smells great. I will always speak highly of this care home.
Always had a pleasant experience when visiting my Grandma. The care home is clean and tidy, the staff are very friendly. I've also experienced my Grandma getting great care when I arrived. It's a very secure safe space.
Her room has a large plastered patch on the wall that has been there for a year. Considering the cost of the room, I would expect redecoration. The staff are lovely and they lay on activities most weeks which is nice. The cost is incredibly high.
Overall the care home caters for my mum's needs. Issues have been resolved, ie upgrade of my mum's room, following an email from myself. Maybe internal reviews/checklists need to be established by management, to ensure the above is resolved before any complaint. Have had mixed reviews about the standard of food, cannot really comment as I'm not there when they receive the meals. Would like to see some justification regarding the price increase.
My husband has been in the home a few months now and seems settled with all the staff being very friendly. They have plenty of activities going on daily with some really good ones visiting playing music and singing in particular. Just before Christmas a new chef arrived and since then he's made lots of lovely dishes and cakes that everyone enjoys. The food is really appetising even those on special diets are catered for and those on soft food diets have food piped to look like proper meals. Also if there's nothing on the menu a person likes they make sure they get them something to eat that they enjoy. They have recently made a coffee area in the main entrance hall which gives it a feeling of walking into a 5-star hotel, not a nursing home. Somewhere I can fully recommend.
My mum came to Ashby Court for respite care after being in hospital. Since she arrived she has improved a great deal. All the staff are so kind, helpful and friendly. I feel that they are very professional and organised when discussing medication and they always involve me in decisions. I would recommend Ashby Court as a safe, welcoming home-from-home environment.
My Aunty has thrived since going into her new home. She is very happy and the care she receives is second to none. She enjoys the food and the choices she has. It is such a friendly and welcoming place to visit, all staff say hello and are friendly when you visit. We feel so fortunate to know Aunty is happy and enjoys living there thank you all so much!
I have been very happy with the level of care my mother is receiving at Ashby Court since moving there at New Year. Also, my father was treated with such dignity whilst in residence prior to his passing in April, and such respect and kindness were shown by the staff. Mum has a comfortable room, but the main lounge, side lounge, and garden are also good spaces. I believe the food is good, and a good range of activities are offered.
Mum has been here for a few years now. The care has been excellent. The staff are polite caring and dedicated to their roles. The facilities are very clean and well-maintained. Rooms are comfortable and cosy. Meals are always hot and smell delicious also plenty of assorted drinks to choose from. Security is excellent. Mum loves the staff and is treated with the upmost care. Many thanks to all concerned.
My sister-in-law is very happy, enjoys the food and activities, very settled and has developed a wonderful relationship with the staff and management team. Ashby Court is always open to visitors and helps us there when needed. Quick to identify and rectify any problems that residents may have. The home manager is always available to speak to, and this gives reassurance to us.
My mum looked at a few care homes before deciding on Ashby Court. It has taken a while for her to settle but after 2 months she has decided this is where she wants to stay. The staff are brilliant. They encourage my mum (who is not that sociable) to join in and make an effort to leave her room. She has joined in activities which she has enjoyed and loves getting her hair done every week. She is looking forward to getting her nails done.
The staff at Ashby Court are very friendly and caring to every need of the residents. The nurses and carers are excellent as are all the support staff. Recent improvements to the decor have made a big difference across the home and no issue is too small for them to ignore. The recent acquisition of a minibus will allow residents to go on more day trips and activities are planned regularly. Thank you for the care you provide.
