View Full Details of Cedar Falls Nursing HomeMy grandfather moved to Cedar Falls in May from a home outside of the area. From initial enquiry to him moving in we were fully supported as a family. He has been so happy in this home and he has made some friends and he gets on so well with the entire team. Everyone is friendly and they answer any questions we have as a family and action any health concerns promptly which is such a relief to us knowing he is being well supported and cared for. He loves taking part in activities and he says to us that the food is so nice and he always has second portions if he fancies more. It is nice to walk in to the home and it smells fresh and feels welcoming. All in all as a family we are extremely happy he was accepted and moved to Cedar Falls as his happiness is our priority.
Dad has been here few months and has really Improved.he has PSP and life can be tough as the condition worsens and declines are inevitable, yet staff here are so kind and caring he feels safe and confident.he is always clean staff seem to be forever doing jobs, no one sits still for a minute. Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart
My friend's brother needed an urgent end of life care place nearby - as he lived away from this area. Our 'tour' of the care home was handled carefully and compassionately. The facility was calm & clean & friendly. A place was available and within a few days my friend's brother was moved to a lovely quiet room with a proper hospital bed/mattress & given the care he needed & support his sister needed until he died. Many Thanks.
I find the care home very clean. All staff members are excellent, very caring and efficient. They ofer a good variety of food. Overall, a very nice care home.
I can not fault the home at all, my husband has dementia and the staff (carers and nurses) are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble, the home is spotless, always someone cleaning, and the food is great, seconds always available.
From our first enquiry, to admitting my father - communication has been excellent. The staff are very polite and considerable to my father's family. All the staff we have come into contact with have been exceptional, their kindness and consideration has been above and beyond what we expected. The home is splendid, welcoming and safe and secure.
My Dad has been in Cedar Falls since last June. He arrived in a very poorly state, both physically and mentally. Over time his condition has improved in improbable ways, both physically and mentally. His own determination is no doubt a large part of that, but it's been nurtured by the outstanding care within the home. Particularly the care staff themselves and the nurses, who show genuine warmth and affection for him, as well as professionalism. I'm very happy with Dad's care at Cedar Falls.
I live in one of the bungalows on site. Situated in nice grounds, the home is always clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and very helpful, they appear to have endless patience. Nurse on site 24 hours, with call buttons available if attention is needed. Activities staff keep me busy during the day.
The family had to place my partner's auntie into Cedar Falls just before Christmas it was a difficult decision as she can still be quite independent. My partner's auntie has expressed to us that she loves living at Cedar Falls the care team are so kind and caring, they reassure her when she becomes tearful and they show interest when she sits on her own. I need to give a big shout-out to the Cedar Falls team for their hard work and the dedication they show towards their residents and for making family members so welcome. Cedar Falls is so far the best home we have seen. Thank you for looking after our auntie at these difficult times.
I am pleased that my wife is looked after so well and the carers are so friendly.
I am very happy with the way my mother-in-law is being looked after at Cedar Falls. The staff are all kind and caring. The home is always clean. The staff keep us up to date with her wellbeing and contact us when they have any concerns. We are therefore able to relax knowing that they have her best interests at heart.
My father has been well looked after at the home. From the time of his arrival, staff have been friendly, welcoming and communicative with him and us, his family. I feel that he has been cared for with respect, he has had frequent regular checks and additional medical advice has been sought when required. It has always been evident that his well-being is at the forefront of his care at the home.
My sister-in-law continues to receive good care at Cedar Falls, her late-stage dementia is still in place but the staff continue to attempt to keep her spirits up. Food is very pleasant and nourishing, we take in chocolate bars as her sweet tooth is still very much in evidence, but breakfast lunch and dinner are nowadays being eaten as her appetite seems to have returned. A sore on her leg is still causing concern but we're informed that the doctor is aware and treatment ongoing.
My brother and I visit our sister-in-law at least once per week, with my sister visiting every three weeks or so when she comes up from Essex. Her room is always clean and tidy and she is comfortable. The staff are very good with her, her door is always open, so when the staff are going about other business they give her a wave and a hello, which is nice for her. I personally, over the last fifteen months since my sister-in-law arrived, have had no major issues, I have found everyone to be very helpful.
My mother-in-law is a current resident at Cedar Falls. She has been living at the care home for the past 12 months. We know that my mother-in-law is well looked after and cared for by the staff within the home. All of her medical needs are met and she is kept comfortable and safe, with all staff being familiar with her needs and wants. The residents within the home are all very happy to be living in the home. We are always greeted with warm smiles and friendly faces. The staff in the home go above and beyond. They all familiarise themselves with regular visitors and family members. The communication between family members and staff is outstanding. They are quick to communicate any issues that may arise with us as a family. We know many staff by name. They are all friendly and beyond helpful when we need to discuss my mother-in-law’s care. The residents are kept entertained daily with various activities and games which they are supported to partake in. We cannot rate the home more.
Difficult to see good care on Top Floor especially when you see residents walking around soaked through from urine, visits involve walking through trails of urine that staff don’t see. Little knowledge of medical concerns, no consistency of care, inability to follow through on simple procedures like a urine test, or other blood tests. Different answers from different staff, no overall monitoring or direction. Staff disillusioned. Communication poor. Another manager after a sequence of new failed managers, no hairdressing service for months, sad residents, staff who are undervalued, poor laundry service, constantly replenishing missing named items, I could go on and on. Worst of the worst is staffing levels at night resulting in little care, no night-time beverages and a poor attitude. But we are taking our relative out. Put in an official complaint. Never got a reply. Even though we followed official procedures. Rooms are shabby, floors sticky and in need of upgrade throughout.
When someone you love depends on others for care, you want to know they will be kept safe and treated with respect, My mum has recently moved into this home and I’ve honestly been blown away with every single member of staff. The level of compassion and kindness shown to my mum will be something I never forget, it’s the hardest thing I’ve done and it was made so much easier by the manager and her amazing team. Thank you to everyone involved.
Cedar Falls Nursing Home is wonderful and staff are excellent. I would recommend the care home to anyone. The maintenance person is wonderful, so are the receptionist, activities coordinator, the manager and all the staff. It does matter. It doesn't matter what creed, all the staff are wonderful, I love them all even the new staff. I recommend this care home to anybody, it's a wonderful place, it's my home.
After two months, my wife has settled in reasonably and seems to be well looked after. Like all care homes, the cost is eye-watering.
The appropriate external services were called upon for advice and the family were informed of the process and the following recommendations. Our request for a room change was dealt with effectively and efficiently by both staff and management and the home is very accommodating with all our requests.
