View Full Details of The Royal Care HomeThe staff at The Royal always show care and courtesy when dealing with residents and visitors alike. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They tailor activities to suit the interests of the residents.
There is always a friendly, welcoming atmosphere when visiting and the staff are caring, kind, helpful and reassuring. My husband, despite his issues, says he is well cared for, comfortable and happy.
My experience with The Royal Care Home has been a wonderful experience. The staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. They are so caring and have time to talk to the patients and family.
My experience with The Royal Care Home has been brilliant they are caring and have patience with my husband also taking time to be nice to me.
My husband has been at The Royal Care Home since March 2024 and he is settled there, and also I am content that he is in the best place he could be. This lovely home is the best I have ever seen, and I have visited many over the years. Visiting here is like seeing the family and I have made many friends over the last 17 months. The staff are all dedicated and experienced, as well as being kind to my husband and to me. The activities for residents are many and varied, the food is unbelievably good and the atmosphere is happy + reassuring. Thank you a million times to everyone, staff and management, for all you do, but also your friendship.
I have waited over 10 months before deciding to send in this review as I wanted it to be based on long term observation and not just initial perceptions. My wife was admitted here last October (2024) after suffering a severe and debilitating stroke which left her with very little speech and only limited mobility in her left arm and leg. Over this time I can honestly say that the staff and management have been fantastic. There have been days when my wife has been depressed and when she has had issues with her physical condition as is to be expected but the staff have responded positively to all requests for that little extra support when she has needed it. There have been times when the level of support she wanted could only be delivered if she had individual 1 to 1 care 24/7 which is not possible but the carers have inevitably risen to the occasion to provide for her needs and raise her spirits. She could not be in better hands. Thank you all.
My friend was 90 today and the home did an afternoon tea and birthday cake for her, which she enjoyed immensely.
I feel confident my mum is getting the best care and sympathetic attention possible which is most important to the family.
My father is thankfully not the person who left the hospital mid May. He is walking and mobile, no longer bedbound, he is eating, but refused to eat in hospital. He has found peace and contentment. This is all thanks to the staff who have nursed him, spent time with him and listened to him. They understand him and his brain. Last Friday was his 94th birthday. The Royal and your lovely cook and staff provided a lovely birthday tea with a beautiful cake for him and our family of eight. Two days later, when I visited, he said, 'I am the happiest I have ever been in my life, happy as a lark'. What can I say, this is all thanks to you, amazing and a big thank you.
Husband only in the care home for about 2 weeks, but in that time, he was well cared for, staff were very approachable and friendly. Nice pleasant surroundings.
The staff are very friendly and always smiling. Helpful and caring. Lovely garden area but could do with a bit more seating for visitors. My grandmother is treated with respect and given the care she needs. Thank you
My Dad was cared for at The Royal for about 15 months. The staff were excellent and always treated him with care and kindness, along with us, his family. The food was very good. My only concern was that, due to his health issues, including loss of sight and mobility, it was difficult for Dad to benefit from the activities. However, I would recommend the royal as a place of excellent care. We are very grateful.
Good/positive experience with care/nursing staff and support staff. Facilities good. Security good. Perhaps somewhat understaffed on occasions. Good feedback/reporting of incidents - falls etc. The biggest frustrations were the COVID lockdowns where we lost an opportunity to communicate with Mum whilst she was still reasonably lucid - this was not a care home issue however!
Our mum went into the home in December 2024. The care and compassion which the staff gave her was excellent. They were able to understand her needs and deliver. Their patience with her was sometimes above and beyond and we can't thank the staff enough. Unfortunately Mum sadly passed in February 2025, the aftercare Mum and we received was excellent.
My uncle was with The Royal Care Home for a few days only. I thought the staff were very helpful and kind. He was treated as an individual. I was able to say my goodbyes in privacy in a pleasant room which allowed us both some dignity. He died during the early house of that night but I am so grateful for that special goodbye. Hospitals do not offer the same chances.
Would like to say what a fantastic care home this was for my mother for 2 years, who sadly passed away in December. Nothing was too much trouble. All staff, management, nurses, carers, domestics, and one particular staff member who regularly made us all laugh on many occasions, would like to say a massive thank you.
Getting use to not having my husband at home, but care is very good and I know he's safe in this care home.
My father in law is a permanent resident at the care home. He was moved from hospital into the care home, he has Alzeimer's condition. The staff and management have been excellent with dad. He can be really bad at times and a handful but staff have the patience of a saint, really appreciate the hard work they do. Keep up the good work and thanks for everything you do from the family.
My mum came in following a stroke in July. The care my mum receives at the care home has been second to none. The whole team go above and beyond for her. Nothing is too much trouble for them. She has been settled since moving in in October.
Always greeted pleasantly. Staff prepared to discuss any care or welfare items or find the information. Mum seems to be happy and settled and cared for. Her room and surroundings (lounges, corridors etc) are clean and well maintained.
