View Full Details of Connect HouseThe care home has been on a journey. Conditions have improved significantly over the period I have had concerns over this period, and they weren't always dealt with swiftly, but again, things have improved. Staffing is now more stable, and communication has also improved. Recently, another activities team has been appointed, and so this has improved the lives of the residents. This needs to be sustained. My mum has recently had her room refurbished, which looks great!
My friend is in Connect House for rehab. Read reviews - not good. 1st visit was very clean and welcoming, light, bright and airy. All residents are clean & tidy, very good. 1 problem, no drinks available for residents is obvious. 2nd visit was all very good. My friend is 2 weeks not able to stand, now walking with frame. In between meals drinks available plus ice lollys. Best place I've ever been in. All staff very friendly.
All staff are kind, respectful and aware. Mum is listened to with thoughtful care. The home is very clean, tidy and safe. I feel fully supported, informed and involved by all staff. The home feels professionally run and maintains a cheerful environment. Staff treat the residents as individuals with kindness, understanding & respect.
Always a welcoming, friendly atmosphere at Connect House. When I visit my mum her room and ensuite is always immaculate, also the staff will encourage my mum with her food & drinks and engage with all activities. It's lovely how they celebrate the birthdays of the residents with a cake too.
My mother in law has been a resident of connect house for several months. She is now on end of life and has been fortunate enough to remain at this facility. Throughout her stay, my mother in law (MIL) has been treated with respect, love and first class care. Her dignity has been respected and preserved, which is a comfort to us as a family. Although we live quite a few miles away, the staff have kept us informed of any changes in my MIL's health. My MIL is on a soft food diet, but such is the skill of the catering staff, the food looks and is presented as if it is whole food. The artistry is astounding. We see the care staff as friends and have been told we can visit at any time, which is reassuring at the end of life stage. The facility is kept spotlessly clean and there are regular activities to keep the residents amused. We would like to thank the care facility manager for all she has done for my MIL. She really has gone above and beyond in helping us at this difficult time.
Stay away! If you really love your loved one Do not put them here, my Nan was here for a year but sadly passed last week!! My Nan was neglected on several occasion, left alone for days / weeks - left soiled- no management available - absolute waste of time the only staff who were brilliant were the receptionist who knew this was a repeat problem.. cold food, day and night- my nan only had sandwiches and pasta for 1 year.. Then left alone for us to see her starving. See my full review on another platform with pictures of my nans belongings being dumped in a bag with a plant pot and empty crisp packet my nan ate a month prior - also a cleaning cloth?? Disgusting!! Can you believe the management never contacted us or returned any calls in the whole time my nan was in hospital- due to the neglect from this Connect house - This place needs to be closed down.! Take a walk in the showers and you will see the hygiene on the shower curtains - excrement everywhere.
My mother was admitted to this care home for a six-week respite stay with the promise that she would receive support to improve her physical and mental health. We were assured that the staff would work to reduce her reliance on medication, help her develop healthier habits, and prepare her to return home with improved wellbeing. Unfortunately, our experience did not match these assurances. Despite being promised emotional support and access to regular activities to help manage her anxiety and depression, none of this was delivered. There was a troubling lack of engagement from staff, and no meaningful activities were offered to support her mental health. Instead of receiving encouragement and care, my mother felt isolated and neglected. What was intended as a short-term, supportive intervention became a deeply distressing and traumatic period. Her anxiety and depression worsened significantly, and rather than returning home as planned she remained in the care home. Would not recommend.
Lack of communication from staff and management, no call back received. There was many concerns regarding My nan's health and overall care, and welfare which was not addressed no matter how many times we approached the nurse in charge, calls were also made to speak to a manager to complain. Due to the lack of care my Nan was rushed into hospital and was there for 3 weeks, she sadly passed away on the 15.5.2025. We have been to collect her belongings today and were very upset to see that everything had been put into black bags like rubbish. They were her belongings, sentimental value with pictures ect. They had put her flower plant containing mud in with her clothes, half eaten crispy packets, dirty tissue ect deeply upsetting. Lack of respect, no dignity one thing comes to mind how are residents cared for and treated at the home? I would not recommend connect house as no family should have to experience what our family have.
Must praise the staff are great, management frosty to say the least when approached like rabbits in headlights? meals are cold not suitable for stroke patients chips /wedges stroke patients struggle to eat. Rooms in urgent need of repair some bordering dangerous an accident waiting to happen stroke patients are not catered for here too many wandering patients into others rooms uninvited verbal outburst are frequent by some patients at meal times staff shortage in keeping track of wanderers in the early hours is a problem under floor heating faulty floor bubbles with too much heat.
The staff treated my mum with dignity and respect. My mother's care was 2nd to none. The staff dealt with my mum's needs as if she were their own family. The meals looked delicious, and there was plenty on the plates. The rooms are spacious and very clean. In my honest opinion, Connect House treat all residents equally and to their own individual needs. Out of ten, I would give them 20. Nothing is ever too much. I can't thank them enough for what they have done for my mum's needs.
Our beloved auntie was a resident for around 6 years, she sadly passed away in March 2024, the staff at connect house became friends over those years and always went above and beyond. Last December our dad had a bad fall and was diagnosed with a fast acting dementia, there was only one place we could choose for him to live, again the staff at connect house have gone way above and beyond for us as a family and the care for dad is beyond the call of duty. We feel happy and at peace knowing our loved one is being cared for and loved everyday. Thank you would never be enough for everyone.
I am more than satisfied with the overall care my brother receives from Connect House.
Cannot recommend highly enough. Always on hand to help with anything and kept fully informed every week. Every member of staff takes time to remember every relative, is always so friendly and treats my family member so well. End-of-life care is amazing.
A big thank you to Connect House for looking after my father after being transferred from the hospital, all the staff who looked after my father did a wonderful job and thank you to another care provider, who did a fantastic job helping my 91-year-old father to learn to walk again after nearly 2 months in hospital. He's now back at home and walking well on his sticks and improving daily thanks again for your wonderful care.
The staff in the Garden Suite at Connect House Care Home were brilliant with my friend who ended up staying there for around ten months whilst waiting for a room in a permanent home. As far as I could tell during my daily visits they always followed protocols for Covid and did their best to keep everyone safe, it was frustrating (and at times freezing) not always being able to go inside for visits but completely understandable, the window visits were perfectly fine and although the staff were busy they always made time to accommodate my visits. The room he was in was always clean and tidy, the main lounge and dining area were also kept to the same high standards. I really can't fault his time there, the only thing was when he was transferred to short term residential care from rehabilitation all the physio support stopped but this is nothing to do with Connect House itself, it is an external service that provides this. I want to thank all the staff at Connect House for the love and support shown.
Met and greeted by staff in a caring manner, talked through Covid lateral flow test, explained and lead to fire exit. Once in the room with family, staff answered all of my questions and when not knowing answers they went to source and answer. Met matron and senior healthcare advisor who explained where we were heading with care and fully explained what was in place now and what will be in next few days. Felt 100% reassured and listened to. Care compassion and empathy shown by all staff.
Staff approachable, care needs met from the first point of contact via telephone, friendly approach. On entering the building, staff were helpful and answered all my questions and I felt listened to. I feel my brother is entering end of life and staff are doing all they can to make him settled and comfortable.
I was impressed by the cheeriness of the staff. They were always helpful and anxious to please. My friend received good care and was pleased to be where he was. As a visitor, I was always given a Covid check and accompanied by a member of staff to and from my friend's room. You were required to book a visit ahead of time but it was not always possible to make telephone contact.
Came into Connect House after a short stay in hospital. The care my auntie received is brilliant. The staff and home manager are brilliant. The meals are good. I would recommend Connect House.
You can have the most modern building and facilities in the world, but it means nothing without the right staff. All the staff at Connect House were excellent at every level; I could not believe how friendly and helpful they were. Connect House belongs in the premier league of care homes; I cannot thank and praise them enough.
