Connect House is a family orientated service which provides care and treatment via two very distinct services. In total the home provides 74 ensuite bedrooms split across two suites.

Heritage Suite provides residential and nursing care for up to 37 individuals living with a range of care needs. They provide care and support for those living with dementia and also provide dedicated End of Life care. They are currently undertaking the Gold Standard Framework for end of life care and have staff training to be 'Soul Midwives'. Training commenced in these areas in 2020 and is ongoing.

In 2020, Connect House reviewed how they did things as a service and made many changes. Heritage Suite is warm, friendly and homely. All of their family members are long term residents who have had input into the look, feel and design of their home with the addition of a new conservatory which completed this year. You will find staff in non-uniform but with clear identification. They have adopted Tom Kitwood's approach to care which focuses on the individual and their needs with staff practicing this ethos in their everyday activities.

In 2020 the Garden Suite expanded to support residents with complex needs via hospital referrals. They currently offer support to 12 assessment beds, 6 stroke beds and 14 enhanced care beds. These are commission by the CCG in partnership with City Care. They also have 5 short-term spot beds to support those making the transition to long-term care solutions.

Connect House has an amazing Well-Being Team who offer wonderful meaningful engagement opportunities 7 days a week. These include Virtual Reality experiences, their amazing Interactive Table supporting individual and group activities, arts and crafts, reminiscence, trips to their own corner store, music, spa experiences and pet therapy to name but a few.

The care home has been on a journey. Conditions have improved significantly over the period I have had concerns over this period, and they weren't always dealt with swiftly, but again, things have improved. Staffing is now more stable, and communication has also improved. Recently, another activities
team has been appointed, and so this has improved the lives of the residents. This needs to be sustained. My mum has recently had her room refurbished, which looks great!

My friend is in Connect House for rehab. Read reviews - not good.
1st visit was very clean and welcoming, light, bright and airy. All residents are clean & tidy, very good. 1 problem, no drinks available for residents is obvious.
2nd visit was all very good. My friend is 2 weeks not able to stand,
now walking with frame. In between meals drinks available plus ice lollys.
Best place I've ever been in. All staff very friendly.

Always a welcoming, friendly atmosphere at Connect House.
When I visit my mum her room and ensuite is always immaculate, also the staff will encourage my mum with her food & drinks and engage with all activities.
It's lovely how they celebrate the birthdays of the residents with a cake too.

My mother in law has been a resident of connect house for several months. She is now on end of life and has been fortunate enough to remain at this facility.
Throughout her stay, my mother in law (MIL) has been treated with respect, love and first class care. Her dignity has been respected and preserved,
which is a comfort to us as a family.
Although we live quite a few miles away, the staff have kept us informed of any changes in my MIL's health.
My MIL is on a soft food diet, but such is the skill of the catering staff, the food looks and is presented as if it is whole food. The artistry is astounding.
We see the care staff as friends and have been told we can visit at any time, which is reassuring at the end of life stage.
The facility is kept spotlessly clean and there are regular activities to keep the residents amused.
We would like to thank the care facility manager for all she has done for my MIL. She really has gone above and beyond in helping us at this difficult time.

Stay away! If you really love your loved one Do not put them here, my Nan was here for a year but sadly passed last week!!
My Nan was neglected on several occasion, left alone for days / weeks - left soiled- no management available - absolute waste of time the only staff who were brilliant were the
receptionist who knew this was a repeat problem.. cold food, day and night- my nan only had sandwiches and pasta for 1 year..
Then left alone for us to see her starving. See my full review on another platform with pictures of my nans belongings being dumped in a bag with a plant pot and empty crisp packet my nan ate a month prior - also a cleaning cloth?? Disgusting!!
Can you believe the management never contacted us or returned any calls in the whole time my nan was in hospital- due to the neglect from this Connect house - This place needs to be closed down.!
Take a walk in the showers and you will see the hygiene on the shower curtains - excrement everywhere.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm disappointed that you feel we have not met your expectations. Unfortunately, as the concerns have not been raised with us directly, we are unable to respond specifically to them. The care home had a dedicated cook who works tirelessly to ensure that all of our residents dietary requirements are met. Your grandmother had a wide variety of vegetarian meals available to her daily and would often indulge in these which is evidenced by her weight being within normal parameters for the duration of her admission with us. Staff built a warm relationship with your grandmother and spent time with her communicating in her native language which she felt more comfortable with. As previously stated I can confirm that I spoke on several occasions to the next of kin regarding care updates. It is a shame that the concerns were not raised with the home during your grandmothers 14 month stay with us. All feedback will be used positively for service development.

My mother was admitted to this care home for a six-week respite stay with the promise that she would receive support to improve her physical and mental health. We were assured that the staff would work to reduce her reliance on medication, help her develop healthier habits, and prepare her to return
home with improved wellbeing. Unfortunately, our experience did not match these assurances. Despite being promised emotional support and access to regular activities to help manage her anxiety and depression, none of this was delivered. There was a troubling lack of engagement from staff, and no meaningful activities were offered to support her mental health. Instead of receiving encouragement and care, my mother felt isolated and neglected. What was intended as a short-term, supportive intervention became a deeply distressing and traumatic period. Her anxiety and depression worsened significantly, and rather than returning home as planned she remained in the care home. Would not recommend.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm disappointed that you feel we have not met your expectations. Unfortunately, as the concerns have not been raised with us directly, we are unable to respond specifically to them. I can confirm that we do have a dedicated wellbeing team that work in the home and cover a 7 day period meaning that wellbeing activities are available for all residents to access 7 days per week. There are several notice boards located around the home displaying the evidence of this. It is a shame that you did not feel able to raise any of the above concerns directly with the home for the duration of your mother's 14-month stay with us. All feedback will be used positively for service development.

Lack of communication from staff and management, no call back received. There was many concerns regarding My nan's health and overall care, and welfare which was not addressed no matter how many times we approached the nurse in charge, calls were also made to speak to a manager to complain. Due to the
lack of care my Nan was rushed into hospital and was there for 3 weeks, she sadly passed away on the 15.5.2025.
We have been to collect her belongings today and were very upset to see that everything had been put into black bags like rubbish. They were her belongings, sentimental value with pictures ect.
They had put her flower plant containing mud in with her clothes, half eaten crispy packets, dirty tissue ect deeply upsetting. Lack of respect, no dignity one thing comes to mind how are residents cared for and treated at the home?
I would not recommend connect house as no family should have to experience what our family have.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm disappointed that you feel we have not met your expectations. Unfortunately, as the concerns have not been raised with us directly, we are unable to respond specifically to them. As a care provider it is not realistic to expect us to contact each individual member of every family to pass information on. This is something that we would expect the next of kin to do. I can confirm that I spoke on several occasions to the next of kin regarding care updates. Again, as previously stated it is a shame that the concerns were not raised with the home during your grandmothers 14 month stay with us, there is a copy of the complaints policy located in every bedroom within the home for both residents and relatives to access. All feedback will be used positively for service development.

The staff treated my mum with dignity and respect. My mother's care was 2nd to none. The staff dealt with my mum's needs as if she were their own family. The meals looked delicious, and there was plenty on the plates. The rooms are spacious and very clean.
In my honest opinion, Connect House treat
all residents equally and to their own individual needs. Out of ten, I would give them 20. Nothing is ever too much. I can't thank them enough for what they have done for my mum's needs.

Our beloved auntie was a resident for around 6 years, she sadly passed away in March 2024, the staff at connect house became friends over those years and always went above and beyond. Last December our dad had a bad fall and was diagnosed with a fast acting dementia, there was only one place we could
choose for him to live, again the staff at connect house have gone way above and beyond for us as a family and the care for dad is beyond the call of duty. We feel happy and at peace knowing our loved one is being cared for and loved everyday. Thank you would never be enough for everyone.

The staff in the Garden Suite at Connect House Care Home were brilliant with my friend who ended up staying there for around ten months whilst waiting for a room in a permanent home.
As far as I could tell during my daily visits they always followed protocols for Covid and did their best to keep everyone
safe, it was frustrating (and at times freezing) not always being able to go inside for visits but completely understandable, the window visits were perfectly fine and although the staff were busy they always made time to accommodate my visits.
The room he was in was always clean and tidy, the main lounge and dining area were also kept to the same high standards.
I really can't fault his time there, the only thing was when he was transferred to short term residential care from rehabilitation all the physio support stopped but this is nothing to do with Connect House itself, it is an external service that provides this.
I want to thank all the staff at Connect House for the love and support shown.

Thank you! We are so proud to receive such heartwarming comments about the experiences you have had over the past ten months. We completely agree that at times the guidance around Covid-19 has been frustrating, in particular the need for window visits, however, we are so appreciative of the support and understanding of people such as yourself who understood the challenges we all faced and supported us however you were able. I shall pass on your lovely compliments about the home and cleanliness of the environment which the team will be very happy to hear. It was our pleasure to care for your friend and we were all a little sad when his time with us came to an end. We wish him the very best in his new home and thank you again for the wonderful words of appreciation, it means the world to all the staff.

Met and greeted by staff in a caring manner, talked through Covid lateral flow test, explained and lead to fire exit. Once in the room with family, staff answered all of my questions and when not knowing answers they went to source and answer. Met matron and senior healthcare advisor who explained where
we were heading with care and fully explained what was in place now and what will be in next few days. Felt 100% reassured and listened to. Care compassion and empathy shown by all staff.

Current Review Score: 7.6 (7.581)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.6 (7.581) out of 10 for Connect House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 3.4 out of 5 from 12 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 3.408 for Connect House is calculated as follows: ( (58 Excellents x 5) + (27 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (40 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 142 Ratings = 3.408
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.173 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Connect House is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 74 registered maximum number of service users is 14.8. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 14.8 = 0.473
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
