View Full Details of Kingsthorpe View Care HomeMy mother was a resident for 3 years. During the time she was at Kingsthorpe View she was very well cared for by the carers, some of them excelled in the care given to Mum, they looked upon us as family. She passed away last month but during her end-of-life days, the comfort and care we received, from all the staff and management, made it a time of love and more bearable. It is a lovely, clean and well-run nursing home.
My mum has been at Kingsthorpe View Care Home for 6 + years, She has dementia. She is happy nearly all of the time, and the carers and staff treat her with dignity, love and respect. They accommodate all of her needs. If I have any concerns, worries or questions, the manager and staff are always available and willing to help. In the last few months, the home has been beautifully decorated, including the rooms, which are very bright and airy. I am always happy and content with the care my mum is getting, and I am happy in the knowledge that she is safe and has her needs met.
My experience is always pleasant, and I'm made to feel very welcome by all staff members. Staff are always attentive to the residents and prepared to perform any duties necessary.
The staff at Kingsthorpe View are amazing and an asset to the care home. They go above and beyond to help my dad and myself. Past few months have been very difficult with losing my mother to cancer and my dad coming to Kingsthorpe with dementia. I would really like if my dad could stay here as the care provided is fantastic and out of this world.
The staff make you welcome with a smile and offer you refreshments and always there for the residents.
When it was inevitable that my father would have to be moved to a nursing/care home, I had serious concerns regarding the care and general empathy that he would be receiving. Right from the initial contact with Kingsthorpe View, all the people were very reassuring, professional, pleasant, smiling and helpful. Everyone we had contact with, did their utmost to make Dad welcome and comfortable. In the short time he was there, he found many new friends with the staff who made him laugh whilst still giving him the utmost care. It was obvious to us that they really cared and were concerned about his wellbeing and I shall be forever grateful that in my dad’s final days, he had their care and support. Needless to say, I would recommend Kingsthorpe View most highly.
My mum was moved into Kingsthorpe View Care Home after hospital assessment and discharge in March 2023. Management and all levels of staff have all worked so hard to ensure Mum's care needs are fully met. Mum's fellow residents also have complex and challenging needs. All residents are treated with great kindness and respect. Food is ordinary but nourishing and residents' nutrition is well monitored. The living areas are clean and safe with good, level floors. Everyone working at Kingsthorpe is kind and helpful.
Haven’t scored a five as relatively new to this, but overall the service has been great and all the staff very accommodating. The meeting I recently attended was very helpful and informative from all that attended.
Staff cannot do enough for the people in their care. Standard and duty of care is excellent. They are totally quality people doing a very hard job with long hours and lots of mental, emotional and physical expectations. They never moan or ignore, nothing is too much, the management run a strict and considerate home with all the qualities you want and expect for your loved ones. Ten out of ten.
My mum has been at Kingsthorpe nearly a year, when it came to putting my mum into residential care it was heartbreaking. When I read the CQC I felt we had let my mum down. My mum has vascular dementia and at 84 my dad was unable to cope, due to dementia she had become violent toward my dad so we had no choice. The home and staff are amazing, they treat my mum with such care and dignity, nothing is too much trouble. You can see that they love the residents and love their jobs. During the Covid-19 crisis, they have stepped up to another level if that was possible, keeping the family informed of any changes to mums health both physical and mental. Yesterday we saw my mum for the first time in 20 weeks, the staff have done an amazing job during this pandemic and we will never be able to thank you enough and if it was up to us, you would have the biggest pay rise ever. I know we are not allowed to mention anyone’s names in reviews but I want to say a special thank you to two people yesterday.
I was very nervous putting my mum into respite care, but the facilities and staff in the residential unit have been fantastic. The care my mother received from the staff has been wonderful and I never worried about the care she received. Her room was very peaceful and homely and she has made friends. I would recommend Kingsthorpe View to everyone who wants peace of mind when thinking about future care for an elderly relative.
My dad was very difficult when he first came here, violent and verbally abusive. He is now much calmer, very happy and rarely has any outbursts compared to 3 years ago. Staff are fantastic with him and very supportive to the family. I couldn't be happier with dad's care.
This is based on two visits and my impression is a well-organised facility and the staff receptive and happy. My brother's bedroom is spacious and modern.
I have been going with my best friend to see her husband once a week for about 2 years. I find the home and staff very warm and welcoming. All the staff are genuine in their care for my friend's husband. I am offered a cup of tea every visit, plus special days to join the lovely buffets. Staff treat all the residents that I have met with the utmost respect. The home is always clean and warm.
The staff at Kingsthorpe View always made us feel welcome and treated my mother like family, nothing was every too much trouble. They always went that extra mile in mother's last days, she was treated with the best care I could have asked for. My mum always spoke so highly of the staff.
When visiting my father-in-law the staff are really helpful, they explain everything concerning him. My father-in law has settled in really well in this home and he seems a lot happier that he has been for a while. He's eating better and the staff talk to him better than any other home he's been able to.
I always find the care home very pleasant; always busy, all the staff are very hard working, always a nice warm welcome. Always nice and clean, everywhere staff are always helpful when I need to know anything.
Staff are pushed too much. No permanent nurse. Staff are very friendly and you can see they try their best, but underpaid, overworked staff is not good for any home. The amount of money people pay to be in here. Food and watered down juice and budget food is poor. Cut back with elderly is SAD!
The home is extremely friendly, I am treated very well. My room is lovely. I have been out in the mini bus on a trip to Skegness. Trips planned for Derbyshire. Out with friends shopping. Settled in really well, I can sleep well. I love the activities especially exercises.
