View Full Details of Woodend Care HomeMy mum moved to Woodend a couple of weeks ago. She has settled well has been much more active and busy with the activities provided at Woodend. She appears more positive since her move there
I visited for the alzheimers afternoon tea, she was my neighbour- she is very happy here. We sat in the lovely garden. She loves being outside.
Woodend Care Home is a very clean and nice home. In a lovely peaceful location and nice gardens. The staff are very caring and can't do enough for the residents. I would say don't hesitate in bringing your loved one to this home.
On visiting my mum she is always happy the staff are always lovely with her and her care and attention is 100%. Three members of staff in particular are very loyal and caring to her.
My wife has been suffering from dementia for the last three years, but has deteriorated recently. She became a resident here because we could no longer care for her properly at home. I have been very reassured with the care she is receiving, and I feel that she will be well looked after here. This makes me feel comfortable. The staff and management are first class, and always available to answer any queries as requests.
This is my first experience of a carehome facility and although it took time getting used to how the facility operates, it took my breath away at the patience and kindness of the whole staff/team. Very reassuring to know my dad is being cared for.
Woodend Care Home has a lovely appearance from the outside, well taken care of. Inside is very welcoming and clean, painted well, and corridors are clean and maintained. Bedrooms look cosy too and staff are all very pleasant.
My mum is a resident in Woodend Care Home, she receives the best of care there. My dad was also a resident there until his recent death. He also received the best care. He was treated with dignity at the end of his life and his family were also supported by the staff.
I have lived in Woodend Care Home since November 2021 and my experience of it is very favourable. The home has excellent accommodation and facilities. It provides activities for residents such as fundraising fashion show which was very successful. The real strength of the care home is its very caring staff. This is true of the staff who work in administration, the provision of meals and the provision of personal care for residents. The warm and friendly atmosphere is apparent to visitors to the home also.
The home is excellent and my wife often says how much she enjoys staying here. My only complaint is the occasional lack of car parking places.
Feel very positive with staff and facilities, and feel that my wife is getting the best possible care.
This is our first visit and from the onset we were treated very well indeed. The room we visited is very comfortably spotlessly clean and bright and airy. The lady we were visiting was celebrating her Birthday and we were invited into the lounge for afternoon tea. A lovely cake complete with candles was brought in and staff and all residents joined in to sing Happy Birthday. I understand that the lady we were visiting had been taken out to a garden centre which she thoroughly enjoyed. We know she is safe.
The staff are very considerate of my mum and genuinely care for her. The home is well decorated and presented. I'm very happy with how my mum is looked after.
The last 2 years has seen a huge improvement mainly staff. Staff seem much happier and contented. The new management and medical staff have improved the care home. Food choice is still quite repetitive and requests are not always completed. Staff are very attentive and treat Mum with dignity and show true care for her. Small downside is items of clothing have gone missing/lost. Also, reception on entry could be more welcoming i.e. small hello etc.
Despite a change of key personnel on the dementia unit during the period, a high standard of care has been maintained. My wife appears very comfortable.
The home is well-run and excellent conditions. Very modern decor. Have to use quite a lot of agency staff who are caring but don't know the patients. Downside is the enormous cost.
Found Woodend Care Home to be friendly, kind, helpful and comfy. Empathetic with my post-operative condition. Came here on 06/11/2024 and have extended my stay to 27/11/2024.
I couldn't wish for a better home for Mum. She is so well cared for by the amazing team, and seems so settled and happy. Food is brilliant, always a choice and carers encourage and support everyone with their meals. Lots of activities if the residents want to take part. Rooms are lovely and kept super clean.
Staff are amazing with my Mum and very supportive of our family. Great activities calendar, which Mum enjoys. Lovely location and beautiful garden to use in the warmer months. Good variety of meal options.
My mother moved in here ten months ago and is very settled there now - it has a very homely feel. The staff are lovely and the food is good. Each week there is entertainment from bingo to karaoke, live singers and more and there are activities organised for most mornings. Visitors are welcome at any time during the day and evening. Would definitely recommend Woodend to anyone looking for a lovely caring environment for their elderly loved ones.
