View Full Details of Abney Low Nursing HomeOur mum, who has mixed dementia, has been cared for at Abney Low with such warmth, patience and understanding. The staff treat her with dignity and compassion, taking time to comfort her on difficult days. It gives our family such peace of mind knowing she's in a safe and loving environment where she is genuinely valued as a person. I would recommend Abney Low.
My father has been a resident for over 6 years. He is always treated really well and cared for. He loves all the staff, and he says they cannot do enough for him. He has never had any complaints. It's a lovely atmosphere, everyone is very friendly and smiley.
Lovely, homely home, always clean and tidy. Amazing staff, always helpful and compassionate. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I am very happy with the care home, Abney Low.
Mum was happy as could be expected, given the illness mum is experiencing. Thank you for her care.
My grandad has been here almost a year, he has settled well, all the staff are great with him, they take their time with him and don't rush him. Always something for him to do, he loves the music, they all play the oldies.
Always a busy environment - but staff friendly and attentive.
Happy with care and staff are very welcoming and nice.
Pleasant staff and great care.
The staff overall are very caring and helpful to residents and family members. The food is very good and more than sufficient. The room is a good size and suitable for mum's needs.
My brother's health was deteriorating quickly but we thought it was due to his condition. However, the night duty staff recognised that he needed immediate medical care and contacted the duty doctor. My brother was subsequently rushed to hospital via ambulance. Without the staff's care and vigilance, my brother may have been in a worse condition, could you pass on my thanks.
There needs to be a system to sign residents in and out of the building. Rooms need checking ft freshness daily. Staff treat my parents with respect and kindness and have taken time to get to know them.
Fantastic care provided by very caring and attentive staff towards Mum and Dad at Abney Low. When Dad was taken into hospital, the nurses said they had not seen such comprehensive paperwork for many years, every detail was taken into account, even to how Dad liked his cup of tea. The staff have been incredibly thoughtful and very sympathetic to Mum and the family following Dad's recent passing.
Lovely friendly staff, I feel happy I'm leaving him in safe and caring hands.
My mum has been here since October 2024. We have been warmly greeted by management and staff all of who are very attentive to our mums needs. Mum enjoys her meals and gets on well with everyone. There is always an activity going on mum particularly enjoyed the visit from the animals. I feel very happy that mum has settled into her new home.
The staff are polite everytime we come, always offering drinks always working hard with the residents who are well looked after by all staff and always let you know if there is a problem.
There is one member of staff who consistently goes above and beyond. She not only interacts with my dad in a manner which makes my dad relaxed and happy but she also engages with family offering personal support when they are struggling. She is the usual chef but also performs caring shifts. She always provides help + support whatever hat she is wearing. An absolute gem of a member of staff.
Staff are lovely and really helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. My brother is really settled and happy here.
My husband has recently gone into Abney Low with Parkinson's. I have not found fault with the home/accommodation and he has settled in very quickly. Staff are wonderful and I'd like to recommend the home very highly.
I have been impressed with the level of care my father has received. In particular the warm manner in which they have dealt with my father and his at times, complex issues.
Amazing home. My grandad has settled in really well the staff are amazing with him.
