View full details of Woodheath Nursing & Residential HomeI was really anxious about the Christmas period as it's my first Christmas not having mum at home with me. Woodheath staff , from carers , nurses, activities coordinator, managers and volunteers all went above and beyond to ensure my mum , myself and even my children had a wonderful Christmas. Every visit we felt welcomed and enjoyed Christmas activities including a family Christmas party , mince pie and sherry Sundays , and carol singing. I can't recommend the Woodheath highly enough the staff genuinely care for all their residents.
My mum was a resident at Woodheath for almost 18 months. She settled in very quickly. The staff were kind and attentive and looked after her with care, patience and dignity. Where possible, they involved her in the social activities available which happened frequently. She had complex nursing needs which were addressed with professionalism and we as a family we're kept up to date on her treatment. Woodheath has a small, independent feel to it which we liked as it made the care feel more personal.
My Mum is generally very well looked after and the staff seem very fond of her. However when I visited recently she was sat in wet clothes as she had spilled tea. It was obvious as there was a lot on the tray too. When I pointed this out they immediately changed my Mum.
My friend was admitted from hospital not looking after herself with various problems. She has been so well looked after she now has lovely company lots of entertainment and looks really well. Could not ask for more
Door opened by a friendly member of staff, who took us to resident's room as requested. Room was clean, warm and tidy. When leaving spoke to a couple of members of staff regarding residents well being who were helpful.
Staff are always helpful and friendly when I visit and the home has a nice warm atmosphere. Mum is as comfortable as she can be and well looked after as she has dementia. The staff are really caring and dedicated
Overall, I am satisfied with the care and services provided to my wife. However, there are some areas that could be better. For example, personal items being misplaced (hearing aids), and clothes being put away with less care. I appreciate I can take care of this, yet each time I tidy up and sort it out, it often ends up in a mess again. I am sincerely grateful for the care and services provided to my wife.
The LOVE, CARE and SUPPORT Ann received throughout her time in Apple House was above and beyond anything I previously experiences. I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely home. It is immaculate, the whole team are so committed and respect the residents dignity, they are professional and have time for not only the residents but for their families. An important part for any resident in a Care Home is to ensure they have plenty to occupy their minds and Woodheath definitely provides this with the wonderfully organised activities for everyone. When Ann was too ill to sit in the lounge, she was occupied in her room. I cannot thank everyone enough for the wonderful care and compassion and was deeply touched how they instantly loved and cared for her. We sadly lost Ann recently and I was holding it together quite well until we drove past Woodheath on the day of her funeral and saw the lovely carers once again sharing their time and kindness. You really are true Angelsx
Both my sister and I are more then happy with the care that our mother has received while she has been in Woodheath. The staff are exemplary, she has been treated with dignity and respect. She looks satisfied content and comfortable, she is clean her hair is brushed and tidy. The difference in her since arriving from hospital is incredible - grey pallor, hair not brushed, she looked lost. New colour in her cheeks, hair tidy she looks relaxed and content. I would have no hesitation in recommending Woodheath for anyone's relatives to stay. All the staff are outstanding, very friendly and have kept us informed about our mums condition. 10 out of 10 for all staff.
The staff at Woodheath Nursing Home are excellent with my mother and she is treated like family.
As a pharmacist, I had provided medication reviews for Wirral care homes over 20 years ago and Woodheath was my favourite. When the time came for Mum to need extra care I looked at Woodheath and 2 others. Without a doubt this was still the best. Mum was looked after with kindness and her dignity was maintained at all times. She chatted to all the staff and I always knew I had made the right choice. Sadly she passed away recently but that was kind, gentle and peaceful too. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home and have said this to many people already.
All staff at Apple House were caring, compassionate and professional when caring for my Mum. They also have a great range of activities for the residents to participate in, including day trips out, which my Mum loved. They treated her with care, dignity and respect. Thank you
We chose Woodheath to care for my Dad in the last few weeks of his life, as our Mum had received wonderful care at Woodheath during the last 3 years of her life. Dad was terminally ill. The care he received was exemplary. All of the staff were professional, compassionate, kind and most of all treated Dad with dignity, especially in the last few days of his life. We cannot thank the staff enough for the care that they gave to Dad and also to us as a family.
The care my mother received was exceptional, and I would like to thank the staff publicly for the way they looked after her. Her end-of-life care was also very good; she was looked after with dignity and great care.
I wanted to leave a message to anyone looking for dementia care. My mother was not an easy personality and we worried about how she would settle. In the time she resided at Apple House Woodheath she was treated like one of their family, as was anyone who visited her. They took time with her and showed nothing but patience. It is a fun happy environment with activities to keep the residents engaged and happy. My mother passed away there and in her final days the staff were amazing. Thankfully her final days were as comfortable as could be. As a family we thank all the staff for everything they did.
Mum lived at Woodheath for the last 2 years of her life before she passed away in March 2024. During her time there she was very well looked after and was loved by the staff, just as she loved them. She looked forward to the daily exercise classes as well as various afternoon activities. She especially loved the trips out. Thank you to all at Woodheath for taking such good care of her and for being friendly and welcoming to us each time we visited.
My time visiting Apple House it's a pleasant and welcoming environment with clean and tidy routines, Apple House takes residents on day trips and in-house events are a great help and I'm sure they all love it too. Best wishes to the friendly staff.
The staff were what made Woodheath a special place of care. They don't just care for my mum they love her. I can't ask for more, additionally, they made me feel so welcome always getting me by name.
My wife is just starting her fourth year as a resident of Woodheath's Apple House annex for dementia patients. From the very first, the management and staff have treated her with kindness, understanding and skill. Although she is, inevitably, deteriorating mentally and physically, the wonderful carers have never given up trying to bring some meaning and pleasure to her life. Only a fortnight ago, for instance, they organised an outing by taxi and wheelchair to the local promenade, for fresh air, sea views and a meal out. That initiative came from the staff, not from me, and was typical of their thoughtfulness. In short, I am full of the utmost praise for this excellent care home.
Woodheath Nursing and Residential Home is an excellent home. It has cared lovingly for its residents during the Covid period. It now continues to provide dedicated professional care for the very ill and frail patients of whom our mother is one.
