View Full Details of Belong MacclesfieldFrom the minute mum had her assement at home we knew she would be in safe hands. Mum moved into Oak House and everyone was incredible with her, taking into account her wishes as MND advanced quicker than expected. Every part of the way was explained to us and what changes to expect and as well as caring for my mum they cared for all family and friends. We couldn't of done it without their love and support. Mum considered Belong as her home and for that we couldn't be more grateful.
All I can say is, how grateful for all the lovely carers and everyone on cedar at belong. The restaurant is pleasure to sit in, everyone is so nice, we couldn't ask for a nicer place for my daughter. When I leave I know they are all so kind and make one feel a lot better. Thankyou to everyone. x its a pleasure to know you all.
Our Mum moved from another care home into Belong a while back now and within a week or so you could visibly seen the improvement in her health and mental state. She is very happy and settled now in the Poplar Household. I mostly visit at the weekends and can say that the staff are very friendly and welcoming and its plain to see that they care about the residents in Poplar, in particular three ladies go the extra mile. Our Mum tries to involve herself in the activities when she can and also uses the Gym/personal training facilities normally once a week which is good for her physically and mentally as well. Keep up the good work.
I find the staff of Belong Macclesfield helpful, knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk to from cleaning, laundry, kitchen in all departments, clerical etc. Super people!
Belong has been part of our lives for the last 5 years. First with my dad and then my mum who sadly passed away last week. Visiting my mum in Belong has changed my impression of what a care home could be and I wish they were all like this one. Belong feels like a home from home, having a central lounge and dining kitchen allowing the residents to feel part of the daily activities. But the stars of the show are the staff. The staff were like family to my mum, they looked after her but more importantly they loved her. Even when my mums illness got challenging they were always supportive and caring. After my mum passed away they told me how much she had touched their lives but in truth they have touched our lives. Thank-you for being there for my dad, my mum and for us.
I highly recommend Belong Care Home in Macclesfield, they have been caring for my wife since 2019 after she was diagnosed with FTD. They are absolutely wonderful carers and my wife could not be in a nicer or more caring environment. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are extremely kind and sympathetic towards her. The accommodation is excellent and she has safe access to a wonderful garden that she really enjoys. She could not be in a better place.
The overall standards of care are wonderful at Belong Macclesfield - I am confident that Dad is content and well looked after. Individual staff treat dad like a family member with great affection, care and dignity. He has been moved recently to a slightly larger room with beautiful windows and views of the trees. Although a few months ago it seemed that a lot of unfamiliar agency staff were being used, that does feel to have improved recently with a better sense of staff stability. It feels much more positive on the household. There are a few small concerns which I feel are relatively minor on the background of such great care : sometimes information is not passed on reliably between team members and some carers attend less to shaving and nail care than others, but now that the sense of a stable team is growing, I'm sure that will improve. Everyone helps me, as a relative, to feel part of the family on the household and Dad is happy! I can't ask for more..
There are occasions when there are two many agency staff on duty. This last week there were two male agency staff on duty with one permanent one. I'm here most afternoons and I notice things .I feel you must have male and female if you find this happens again
On all my visits to Belong the staff on reception are all very helpful and pleased to see you as the first point of call. I only visit Oak Floor as I need to. All the staff are very polite and helpful in many ways, and care for the people they are looking after.
Belong Macclesfield is fantastic, so reassuring to know my parents are safe, supported and cared for by such lovely staff. The garden is a lovely space and the bistro is really welcoming. Thank you for making us always feel welcome.
My wife is well looked after in a relaxed environment. She has an obsession with babies heaven knows why and recently was taken to see an event with toddlers which apparently she enjoyed. This sort of activity just would not be available at our home. Due to the advanced state of her Alzheimer's she is not motivated to do anything, I feel the staff do a good job in getting her to try different activities. They show great patience and understanding when dealing with her especially during her "loud periods" The daily care reports are useful giving me an insight into her situation. Although anything out of the ordinary such as a fall is phoned to me straight away which is appreciated. Personal care was always a trauma but is well handled quite often she seems to enjoy the interaction. Not always though and the situation is then firmly handled with dignity. She is in fact treated as if a normal person, with affection and humour.
My mum has been resident at Belong for nearly 4 years. She has been in bed and requiring intensive care for some time now. The care and support from the staff throughout has been amazing. I can visit whenever I want to and she is always clean, well looked after and contented. The style of Belong, with small villages, means really personal care is always available. There are always plenty of staff and they are so kind to my mum and that has really helped us as we have witnessed her dementia worsen. I visit every week so see closely how Belong runs and am always pleased and comforted by how they care for my mum. I am always offered a drink and a chat, nothing is too much trouble and they are all so friendly. I am very glad we chose Belong for mum.
Staff are excellent, welcoming and caring. Bistro serves delicious food.Staff are friendly and efficient. Entertainment staff are fun and activities are varied. Staff try hard to accommodate residents' interests. Family and friends are made to feel welcome. Concerns about the home by families are listened to and acted upon.
An absolutely brilliant place for elderly relatives with dementia/ Alzheimer's. My grandma moved here when her last care home had neglected her terribly. belong Macclesfield is a welcoming, caring and loving environment for any relative. I have trust in the staff and feel my grandma is being cared for, she is part of a family at belong which is lovely and means soo much to myself and the wider family
We are very pleased that Dad chose Belong. The staff are wonderful and I have come to know many of them as friends. The Autumn Suite has been a real bonus. Thank you all!
Staff on Poplar house are always welcoming and polite. They try to respond to queries and suggestions, and know both mum and dad well. All staff support them to take part in things that interest them. This gives us confidence that they are happy, safe and well looked after. After 4 years of supporting my parents in the community I am now able to have my own life as well.
Mum has been a resident now at Belong for 7months During this period of time she has received good care , support and kindness for her dementia diagnosis At times this has been difficult but all staff have shown her dignity where ever possible in these challenging times Our family have also been shown kindness and support , from all levels of staff at belong
I visit every six weeks or so and find the staff extremely friendly and helpful. I'm recognised, which is lovely, and generally offered a drink. Usually, Dad is comfortable and happy, well cared for. He is often asleep. There have been occasions when I have not known the staff because they were agency staff and I have found them less interested and caring but this time has been better.
Excellent social interaction however some of the basic standards of care required, e.g. personal hygiene, ensuring clothing that clearly needs washing is washed and ensuring basic hygiene items are always in every room. This was during Christmas but the standards should not be allowed to slip. This is not typical - for the past two years, we have been extremely satisfied with everything Belong has done.
All staff encountered display courtesy, professionalism and empathy when engaging with their residents. My mother was greeted like an old friend and continues to enjoy being spoiled every day. The range of activities offered to her is wide-ranging - from games and quizzes to singing and going on trips out. Every time I visit I am regaled with tales of what she has been up to in the previous week or two. Premises and facilities are well presented and maintained. The 'house' she resides in has a lovely south-facing balcony area, large lounge area with TV and a comfortable dining area. Her bedroom is a good size and the en-suite wet room is spacious. The small household model gives it a family feel and I'm sure, puts residents at ease.
