View Full Details of Bucklow Manor Care HomeThe staff and carers were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. The home was very clean and the variety of meals was excellent. I felt very safe in there care and they had plenty of activities during the day. Have stayed here several times and I always look forward to coming back.
Mum was a resident of Bucklow for 15 months after a stay in hospital. She had dementia and unfortunately had a number of falls. Initially she was not happy and wanted to go home (which sadly was not an option). The staff dealt with a difficult situation really well and Mum settled in after a week or so. Bucklow is a very pleasant environment with the conservatories and the gardens to sit in. Mum's room was light and pleasant and had a nice view of the garden. She enjoyed the activities and the staff really liked her. They put on a very nice party for her birthday and were always attentive and treated her very well. The staff were always in touch with me and very helpful with Mum's specific needs.
I come to visit my sister with family we're greeted as family by management and 2 staff with a smile and chat were told how she is and any activities - hair done etc my sister is clean fed drinks her every need catered for from the looks she gives we can see shes happy and comfortable with them lovely well kept garden to sit in. Thank you for looking after my sister.
Our sister has been here for about 6 years and me and my sister's have come on a regular bases and have found all the staff and management very friendly and helpful you can tell the way our sister looks and reacts to them we feel that she is in the best place which makes us happy and know feel that they are part of our family.
This home is so fantastic, the staff are so caring and understanding. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff go out of their way to make sure the residents are stimulated and entertained with lots of different activities. My husband is always presented in a very clean and hygenic manner. Considering he is doubly incontinent I have never detected any impleasent odour when I give him a hug. Thanks should be given to the management for such a great service.
Myself and my husband were so worried about using anywhere for respite care, but, unfortunately we both knew that this was the way forward for us, and, as soon as we were greeted by everyone at Bucklow Manor Care Home we felt at ease. Our first visit was unannounced and we were greeted very warmly and nothing was too much trouble. Within 30 minutes of being shown around, my husband said "I know I will feel comfortable here", which was quite overwhelming to hear, as we are a very close couple and have lived together 24/7 since retiring in 1998. My husband has now completed two short respite stays at Bucklow Manor and has been very happy and comfortable both times, we would not entertain anywhere else, as the staff are just wonderful, I really feel as a loving wife that it is the only place other than my husband spending the odd day at home with family members that we feel is right for both of us. We convey our warmest and most loving thanks to all at Bucklow Manor for putting us at ease
Mum has just come back from her second visit the staff are all extremely kind and caring everybody made an effort to ensure mums stay was comfortable we are looking at booking mum in again in august knowing that she will be looked after which also gives us peace of mind that she will be safe in the hands of the staff at bucklow manor
My husband was very apprehensive about his first stay in a care home (for respite) and for several days was unsettled. After that, he settled in very well, the staff could not have been kinder and were very vigilant about his needs and the regularity of his medication. They were extremely kind and thoughtful and made his birthday a really special occasion. I cannot praise them enough.
Mum has been here for over 4 years now. She will be 100 in a few weeks and is looking forward to a party and a glass of fizz. I am happy that she is being cared for very well. Although her Vasular Dementia means that her needs are complex, Mum receives care that is tailored to her needs. There is no way that I could offer her the care she required, at home. There are plenty of activities for the residents. The food is great and the atmosphere is warm and friendly.
I think, Bucklow Manor Care Home is a good home. Very caring, clean home. Mother is not so keel about being here, but I think its what she needs.
I have visited this home several times and have always been made welcome by friendly caring staff. Any questions or concerns have always been dealt with satisfactorily. The home has a warm, welcoming feeling and the staff are pleasant and approachable. The residents are well presented, wearing matching and suitable clothes. This is important because in other homes, I have noticed no care has been given to this factor.
I feel so comfortable that I'm leaving my mum with caring staff. We are always made to feel welcome and are happy to discuss any concerns or progress, either by telephone or in person.
I transferred my mum from another home and I could not have been happier with the care she received at Bucklow Manor Care Home during her illness and subsequent death. The staff were kind and attentive, she was incredibly well looked after. The communication with the home was exceptional - to her family members as well as medical professionals. Mum was very happy there and it was such a relief to be able to visit and be made to feel welcome. Thank you.

I am still "fairly new" to having my husband in care, it certainly is life-changing. The feeling of guilt never quite goes away. I know that he is cared for well at Bucklow Manor Care Home and that helps. The staff seem to be extremely caring, always have time to chat and advise on any concerns I may have. Keep up the good work.
My husband has been at Bucklow Manor Care Home for three months. I cannot express how grateful I am for the kindness and support given to me and my husband. During this transition period, we have both been supported and this life-changing event has been difficult but made easier by the care received from absolutely everybody at Bucklow Manor. I sleep well knowing my husband is in safe and loving arms whilst he is not with me.
My dad was cared for in Bucklow Manor in May this year for a week's respite. I found the whole experience to be a high standard. Staff were lovely to my dad and the atmosphere was always welcoming.
