View Full Details of New Springfield Care HomeOut of all the care homes in the region there was no better care home to support/care for my mum and dad than new Springfield care home. My dad seriously loved the company especially at mealtimes getting the chance to meet new people . My my with dementia was unsettled unfortunately but no fault to the care home but wow the staff were fantastic and he keeps talking about them and does miss them it was such a relief for me to take some annual leave without any worrys and was very happy they got the care and rest that they desserve. Thank you to management for helping me out and to all staff for making my parents feel so welcomed and very well cared for 5 star all day long
Mum's stay, since 2023, has been a testing one due to her mental health. However, since the take over, it seems that her needs, physical, mental and general attention, has improved. The food has especially been improved to a lighter standard. The surroundings and facilities along with a cinema style room area great idea. The staff are special and have a great rapport with mum which is vital for me. And after 2 years and 5 months, my mum's well-being is more than satisfactory.
My dad has been taken care of very well in this New Springfield Care Home, thank you.
Excellent communication with all the staff. The staff are very pleasant and answer any questions you ask of them. My brother has made very good progress since he was admitted to Springfield from the hospital. His health and well-being have come on in leaps and bounds, and the food is of good standards and portions. My brother was underweight but is now in the normal range.
Although my husband has only been in for 2 weeks, the care has gone beyond expectations. Staff have been extremely kind & caring. Rooms are spacious and namely with large food and drinks selections. It is a safe space with good value for money.
I Can't thank the team at New Springfield Care Home enough, their excellent care of my father gave my mum peace of mind to be able to relax and enjoy her much needed break. The little extras like his glass of wine or 3 in the evening lol definitely helped, dad does love his wine. I know mum has no hesitation using the home for future respite for dad. We have 2 further respite breaks booked with yourselves. Once again thank you so much you all do an excellent job.
My Mother has been a resident of the care homes Dementia Unit since 2019. The care home is looking brighter and refreshed since becoming New Springfield ( formerly Springfield ) but most importantly as her Alzheimer's has progressed the quality of her care has remained high. Recently after consulting me the care home moved her to a room closer to the office, the staff felt that as her condition was deteriorating and she had lost mobility it would be easier to keep a close eye on her if she was nearer the office, this was a great comfort to myself and I felt happier knowing care was closer to hand should she need it as her Alzheimer's progresses.
I was dreading having to put my mum into a care home but as a family we all decided it was the right the time. My mum has dementia and is non verbal so this was worrying knowing she couldn't communicate with anyone. She went in November 24 and I can honestly say she is doing amazing. I go to see her every week and every time she's always clean, dressed, happy and content. She's made her own little family in there. They take mum out on day trips and show me photographs what she's been up too which is really lovely to see as she didn't like leaving the house for years. The staff are lovely always engaging with her. The care home itself it's very clean which I love. They have recently painted and decorated since mum has been there and it looks so fresh and more up to date now. They have done a great job. Her room is always spotless and hoovered. I would 100% recommend this care home.
overall excellent, the current renovations are looking excellent. the new lift being installed, will be a game changer. staff are attentive to Dads needs, overall he is happy with his surroundings and has made a few friends there.
Night staff need to be reviewed. Not really caring enough for residents. My dad was in hospital for four days after falling out of bed. The floor mat is not in place! All my comments refer to day staff which are excellent. A change of menu would be good at lunchtime.
I moved into Springfield Care Home fourteen months ago. I enjoy being here a lot.
I grade you as an excellent nursing home. I could be wrong, but there does not seem to be a brochure/fact sheet specific to what Springfield has to offer in order to advertise your excellence. I believe this is a legally enforceable requirement according to the "accessible information standard" on 1st August 2016. This fact sheet/brochure is a necessary requirement making a client/family to be able to make an informed decision. This information is a guide map to future care at the outset and should proceed with a "care needs assessment"!
My mother has been a resident for over a year and has received excellent care. The staff are very kind and compassionate. My mother's health improved dramatically whilst in Springfield Care Home after leaving the hospital. Also, all the staff have made me and my family welcome during our visits.
Total chaos resulting in many serious issues. The resident was removed due to safety and care issues and is now safe and being looked after properly. Belongings went missing and care was variable depending on the staff that were on duty. The home has deteriorated over the year and is trying to save money but this should not impact on residents. The definition of care and home are not being met.
I have come today to visit my mum, and I think it is excellent. All the staff are nice. I think my mum came to the right place.
I find the staff very friendly, and nothing seems to be any trouble to them. They always friend time to have a conversation with you and keep you informed on how the resident is doing.
Disgusting care home. Most carers seem to operate under the ‘minimum wage, minimum effort’. I’ve heard staff shouting at the dementia residents before, belongings go missing. It stinks, cleanliness is definitely not a priority. Dirty dressings are not changed for over a week, causing infection. One of the staff nurses shouts at relatives, other members of staff and residents because he’s a couple of years away from retirement and really couldn’t care less. Food is terrible, hardly any activities for the residents and to top it all off the heating has been broken for a few weeks now. Do not put your loved ones here!
The overall care from the home is first-class - the carers do a first-class job. The help and support from the medical staff have been brilliant and so much appreciated. The main areas that could be improved on are - general communication - often we don't know what is happening or changes going on. A re=frsh of some of the facilities and room would be good.
My sister was admitted to Springfield for rehab to help get her walking again after a bad fall, but unfortunately, her mental health deteriorated while in hospital, and this was no fault of the home, it just happened to my sister due to anxiety and stress of being away from her home, in my opinion. I find most staff helpful and pleasant to talk to, but feel very miss guided when asking for updates about my sister, which due to Covid rules and visits limited, is very important to me. It appears to me that things are often very unorganised, such as visiting, you can be left waiting at the door for up to 15 minutes then when you get in you can be waiting to see your relative, so often half of your visit time is lost. I can’t comment for the rest of the home, but I find the unit my sister is on very dark, depressing and never smells clean. The room often looks untidy, cluttered and dirty with food left on the floor from meal time that I have cleaned up while visiting.
Just wanted to say thank you to the staff for helping my father settle so well over the last 6-months in a difficult time for everybody. We can tell he is settled, speaks well of the staff and says how good the food is. It reassures us that he is happy and secure and has everything he needs. Thanks to the staff on floor two for answering our questions when asked.
