View Full Details of Cottingley Hall Care HomeDad is into his second day at Cottingley Hall and we feel he is in very good hands. The staff have been very attentive not just to Dads needs but to our needs too. Everyone we have met has a friendly attitude and nothing is too much trouble. We believe he is in the right place for the time he has left and we thank the staff for giving us the comfort that he is in the right place.
Service in all areas was good to excellent. It is imperative that users realise the pressures from governmental policies, diversity of employees, difference in pay rates create huge challenges for management in drawing up rotas, trying to create teams. Until a person stays in a care home nobody can understand the constraints placed on the management. A strength at Cottingley Hall is that many staff live locally. Integration is good within teams although balancing backgrounds and skills is a difficult task. More detailed guidance re helping respite patients would enhance the experience.
Our Mum/Sister went to Cottingley Hall for palliative care in the last few weeks of her life. She came from Nottingham to be near her children.. The Administrative staff were extremely helpful in helping to facilitate this move. Once there, Hazel settled immediately, which was entirely due to the staff. The were caring, friendly and had a humour that enabled Hazel to feel at home, she was only 70 and had cancer so the whole experience was frightening, but they made her feel so comfortable and at home. She was unable to join in activities or mealtimes but often when we visited, staff were in her room chatting to her. On 2 occasions family stayed overnight and the staff couldnt do enough for us. The care she received was excellent. The environment is lovely and doesn't feel like a care home. As a family, we want to thank you all for the care Hazel, and ourselves, received in those last few weeks. Thank you
Carefully looked after. Fed and entertained as on offer.
I have been visiting a friend at Cottingley Hall since 2017, every time the reception staff and nurses and carers (and caterers) have been extremely pleasant and helpful, taking my friend (while they were in a wheelchair) into a quiet corner of the hall, so we could chat privately. Now my friend is bedbound, so I visit the bedroom. Yesterday, two carers came in when they heard talking, to ensure the visitor was a known person to the person in their care.
Absolute brilliant care home my mum went in for respite and was treated magnificently. All the staff, from carers to the chefs and cleaners, all had time for my mum. They always had a smile on their faces and took time out just to have a word with you. The meals were great, something different every day. I cannot thank them enough.
Excellent organisation, many activities, cheerful staff.
Cottingley Hall Care Home is lovely. The staff are all very nice and helpful. There is plenty to do to keep residents occupied.
Always happy to visit my auntie.
'Aunty' has been well cared for over the last 3 and a half years. All needs are met and she has been very happy.
My Father is comfortable and well cared for.
I am very happy that my Mother is in this care home. In a stunning building that is beautifully furnished with a charming garden. It is amazing that the level of care, food, and professionalism is just as impressive.
Made very welcome by all members of staff a couple not as friendly as most. Dad's care is not always consistent.
Overall very satisfied after staffing levels have been resolved.
My Aunt absolutely loves it at Cottingley Hall. The food, the staff, and the care is excellent. So glad we chose here for her to spend her later years.
Overall experience has been very good. It has/is a pleasure to visit. Carers in particular are brilliant. Management has been weak due to illness, this is now being rectified.
My mother has been a resident at Cottingley Hall for a year now and has been cared for with respect and a real sense of personal attention. The home is clean and well maintained and monitoring and response to Mum's needs is timely and appropriate. Despite her frailty, Mum has built trusting relationships with the staff who have taken the time to get to know her and her personal needs. Thank you all!
Mum came into Cottingley Hall for respite in September 2023. She was quite ill, and frail after falling. She liked it so much after two weeks that she knew the time was right to move into residential care as living alone with Parkinson's disease was no longer an option. Cottingley Hall has young enthusiastic staff who are all really lovely with all the residents, the staff all bounce off each other creating a really well-run team and happy atmosphere. The food is fantastic, and served really well making the resident feel like they are eating out in a silver served restaurant! With lots of puddings and cakes! The building is a very well-maintained old manor house with lots of history in beautiful gardens, the decor is stunning and beautiful, it's always warm and cosy, very very clean, and never that smell sometimes associated with care homes. Housekeeping keep everything sparking clean. The nursing staff monitor everything, are courteous and keep in touch with us at all times.
Everyone at Cottingley Hall cared amazingly for our mum and are a credit to the caring profession. The care received was outstanding, with genuine affection for Mum, and the support and compassion shown to our family was excellent. There are fantastic people working at Cottingley Hall, from the management, nursing and care staff, to reception, entertainment, maintenance, catering and housekeeping. Highly recommend. Thank you so much, we are eternally grateful.
I was in the home for respite care following a hip replacement operation. From the moment of arrival, everyone was most helpful and caring, from reception, caring, nursing, catering, laundry and hairdressing staff. Please convey my thanks to them all.
