Mum can be quite stubborn, but the staff have been great with her, encouraging her out of her room to join in, and we've been allowed to decorate mum's room with things that are important to her, which has helped her settle in. I'd like to see the staff be a bit firmer with mum, as she's actually
quite shy and her default is to say 'no', when it comes to activities but with encouragement, she'll get involved, which I've seen with Daniella.
There was an occasion where transport wasn't booked for mum's hospital appointment, which was disappointing (though the hospital were able to resolve it.)
Overall, I feel confident that mum's needs are being met, and she's been well looked after.

My mum has been in Snapethorpe for a number of years now and my sister and I are so impressed by the standards of care and the positive vibe of the care home. Every season of the year the inside and outside areas look amazing with plants, festive bright coloured decorations and many examples of work
done by the residents themselves. Staff are always available to discuss any concerns and know my mum really well so can give us a clear picture of how she is getting on. Everyone is so kind to my dad too who visits regularly.
There are concerts, trips out and lots of activities for the residents to get involved in to stimulate their minds and bring them together. The lounge areas are warm and comfortable and there is always a lot going on there. Staff take an interest in the residents and their interests and wishes. My mum was able to attend our daughters wedding in April accompanies by two carers which was amazing. My mum is happy and content here which is the main thing.

Mum has been in Snapethorpe since July, initially as respite then continued. We chose this care home due to the homely feel, and the ease of navigation round the home which we felt mum could cope with independently.
This has continued to be the case, it is indeed homely, with friendly staff, and
mum can find her way round. Any issues we have raised have been actioned, so I have confidence that this would continue to be the case. All in all this has been a positive experience so far!

My sister and I visited a number of care homes before deciding on Snapethorpe Hall for my mum who has dementia. We were initially looking for a home for a period of respite care whilst we went on holiday, but also with a view to potentially permanent care. That was back in July 2025, and mum has
since become a permanent resident.
From the moment we first stepped into the home it felt right for mum and each time we go in there it still feels the same, which is testament to the friendly staff that work in there. It feels very homely; there are lots of activities going on from singing, crafting, sports afternoon, coffee mornings to organised trips out too. Mum loves to get involved in most of the activities and she has made friends with other residents. The staff are very caring, compassionate, visible, engaging and they look after mums needs very well, and we know that she is safe.
21 November 2025
It's very welcoming, and when I visit, all the service users seem happy and well cared for the staff gives us information on my relative and do generally seem to care. It's always clean and the lounge is welcoming. It's always daunting leaving a loved one behind but a least I know he is safe and
happy.

Mum initially came to Snapethorpe for respite but due to her needs became a resident, we had no hesitation in this decision as the place has a lovely feel about it and it was our first choice of care for mum. The staff are lovely and always available for a chat and to provide for mum. The room was
lovely and the cleaning immaculate. Mum sadly wasn't there long enough to enjoy all the activities, but her time there put me and my sister's mind at rest. When she died the staff were so kind and supportive. I would highly recommend Snapethorpe care home.
30 October 2025
Mum came into Snapethorpe in the spring time, initially as respite care after a fall at home which unfortunately worsened her dementia symptoms.
Mum is now a permanent resident at Snapethorpe and I have seen over a period of 6 months that she has become more settled in her surroundings. She is
receiving good care and all of the staff have been lovely.
She joins in with all of the activities that are organised every day and really does seem to enjoy them.

My mum suffers with Dementia and required a Care Home for a period of Respite Care whilst we were on holiday, and to provide reassurance after a period of illness. The management at the Care Home were responsive to our initial inquiry, and supportive of my mums needs in providing a room at
relatively short notice.
From the time of my mum entering the residence, we found the staff to be both visible and engaging which gave reassurance that mum's needs would be attended to. During our visits staff were available to talk to if required and to provide information on the various activities mum had engaged in; bingo, sing-alongs, mobility sessions etc - which we had also witnessed.
The staff also went the extra mile for my mums birthday, personalising her room with birthday decorations and baking a birthday cake - which was a really superb personal touch.
Overall a very positive experience, and we would not hesitate in recommending Snapethorpe Hall for either Respite or Residential Care

My mum had been a resident at Snapethorpe Hall for approx 2 years before becoming ill just after Christmas 2024. Mum was given the best possible care but unfortunately at the beginning of April this year she sadly passed away.
All the staff were so lovely and supportive at this time which was so
appreciated by us all.
They helped us through this really sad and hard time and we can't thank them enough.
29 July 2025
Since my mum went into Snapethorpe Hall her mood and mobility has significantly improved, my mum has dementia and was unable to care for herself.
All the staff are a joy and encouraged mum to join in all the entertainment they provide.
Snapethorpe Hall take mum out with other residents, nothing is
too much trouble.
The care my mum is given is totally 100%.
I can now go and see my mum has her daughter and not as a carer.
14 July 2025
My sister was in Snapethorpe care home for the last couple of years. She enjoyed her time there as all the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The activities were plentiful and varied and enjoyed by lots of residents.
10 July 2025
My mother in law is much happier now she is at Snapethorpe. The staff are friendly and caring and make great efforts to provide support and encouragement to residents. There are plenty of activities and events that family and friends are also invited to take part in and the extra services like the
hairdressing salon are really nice

The team at the home have been fantastic from day one offering excellent and loving care for mum and straightforward help and advice which has help all the family with mums transition.
We would very much recommend the home to anyone going through the issues we've experienced.
24 June 2025
I was in respite care in May and received kindness and care from wonderful, caring and friendly staff. I could have anything in my room I needed from home and nothing was too much trouble. One staff member in particular took me on my first day to meet everyone in the lounge and I never left there!
We were singing, crafting, colouring whether we wanted to or not! We all joined in. It was so much fun and I have said since I came home I coped really well and didn't think I would like it as it wasn't my home, but they made it as good as they could for us and everyone was so very kind. Thank you to everyone, you love and support has meant an awful time wasn't bad. And everyone at Snapethorpe give their best in very difficult times to us older folk.

When Mum needed respite care in 2025, it felt like a truly heartbreaking time. She could no longer manage alone, despite her fierce independence. Navigating the care system and a loved one's illness, as anyone who has faced it can attest, really does feel like 'falling off a cliff'. After visiting
several facilities, it was clear that investment, more staff and resources were desperately needed across the care sector to provide the quality of service every family dreams of for their loved ones. Then we found Snapethorpe Hall Care Home. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed without an appointment and given a tour. I could speak to residents, chat with family members and ask all my questions. The home itself is bright, modern and clean, with an open-plan layout. Soft music played and thank you cards were proudly displayed - a truly welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are en-suite and residents are encouraged to bring their own belongings to make it feel like home. We felt confident Mum would be safe here. I met the manager, who has a wonderfully calm demeanour and clearly explained how everything worked. Staff were always visible, friendly and available to help. They worked seamlessly as a team, handling the complex and unique needs of over 50 individuals every day, always prioritising the best care for each person. They see everyone as an individual. Then there is the lady, she is the heart of Snapethorpe, orchestrating all the events, fun and activities. She has the biggest heart and soul. From the very first meeting, she's warm, friendly and incredibly inclusive. With her natural expertise, she encourages everyone to participate in the life of the home; no one is left alone unless they choose to be. She embodies inclusivity. She has masterminded a vast array of activities, visits and entertainment that changes weekly, always introducing new themes or ventures that she makes accessible to everyone. During Mum's six-week stay, she joined in Easter egg painting, crafting, endless bingo, won the Grand National sweepstake and participated in various raffles and tombolas. There were visits from schoolchildren, trips out, an ice cream van, 1940's singers, dog visits, talks, folk singers, dancing, nearly daily music and exercise, VE Day celebrations and even a pantomime! Every day, she brings everyone together for chats and to prepare for the next exciting event! Her next project is the garden and her enthusiasm is boundless - she's determined to get it done, aiming high, always smiling and keeping everyone's spirits up. This kind of personality is priceless, especially in circumstances often marked by illness and sadness. She never lets anything deter her or get in the way of ensuring everyone smiles their way through their day. The value of this specialist profession, driven by love, kindness and genuine care, can never truly be repaid or taught. It is a service at best carried out with grace and compassion. While a care home isn't a loved one's own home, we found Snapethorpe to be warm, kind and incredibly supportive, with caring staff who were there when we needed them most. When we felt like we were 'falling off that cliff' the staff at Snapethorpe truly broke our fall. They helped us through a very difficult period, providing incredible care and time and supporting us every step of the way. With limited services and resources they are given, this was a place filled with people of immense kindness and care. We will never forget any of them and we know how incredibly valued they are by everyone whose lives they touch.
