What a lovely place the staff go above and beyond to help mum and family. Mum was on end of life care at St Mary's chants Ave. The staff were fantastic so friendly popping in a out her room 24-7 made sure she was comfortable all the time. We visited nearly every day me or my sister. Dad did every day. Everyone of the staff was fantastic carers kitchen staff the girls who did the clothes etc washing a big thank you to one lady who helped us a lot and the staff who guided me through stuff I asked they know who they are thank you. a big massive thank you to one man your doing a fantastic job keep going we as a family really appreciated every thing you have done for us x
From the first moment we were shown around we were very impressed with the whole set up. The quality of the building and facilities is 1st class, the cleanliness is of the highest standard. One lady was amazing with her support and knowledge and the way she worked with the council to help them arrange the financial side was brilliant. The move for mum into the home was very smooth and completely stess free. Mum has settled in wonderfully well and is very very happy there. Thank you so much for everything.
My nana came to stay here as end of life care, the staff across the board where excellent, they gave my nana everything she needed and more, she ended her days in comfort and pain free, they kept in touch about everything and all my nanas needs was met, I cannot thank the staff enough and for the manager for doing all she could to get her in from hospital as quick as she did, when we was worried about how slow the hospital was to move her. We as a family cannot thank st marys enough xx
For our family, the most important quality in any form of dementia care is kindness. Whether my mum is engaging with someone cleaning her room, or getting her dressed, she is constantly telling me that everyone is very kind. Within a week or two, everyone knew her name (and mine) which was very reassuring. The senior nurses are very professional and helpful and have a deep understanding of dementia. Paramedics visit every week and a Pharmacist calls to discuss changes in medication - these services are excellent. They are two individuals in charge of activities who have endless enthusiasm, recently introducing a series of raised containers for vegetables and some flowers. The home dog is loved by all. A suggestion for improvement, is that there should be access to a minibus for outings. This would be a very important addition to the mental well-being of residents who call St Marys their home.
The senior carer has a really good perspective ideas on how to best care for my mother. She has a great relationship with her too. In fact all the carers are lovely.
Excellent care, Mum's really happy here. Lovely rooms, all ensuite. We feel we can live our lives with our family at home knowing Mum's getting the best care. The only thing Mum would change is the standard of food more of a variety for nursing residents but what makes the home is the staff. They are all amazing and helpful, from management to cleaners.
It's been a few months now and only finding the strength to write this after my dads passing last October 2024, I definitely found the home understaffed and actually found my dad left alone for a number of hours and not monitored as much as he should of been, I think the last visit was actually devastating as he had COPD and it took all day to call for a dr and when I got to the home at 6pm not even an ambulance had been called (which should of been called ) it took another 3 hrs and sadly my dad passed away, not the best experience we have had with the home especially the manager she has no empathy at all wouldn't have any other members of my family go in this home I do actually know when the home was the original one located at the front it was better , but when they had the big one built at the back of the old one they changed most of the staff and this was not good.
The manager should be retrained/removed. The home should be demolished and rebuilt with the needs of residents in and cleanliness good except for the beetle found in my room! Laundry system at best eratic, staff must respect privacy of residents and not laugh in their faces when complaining. Medical good but I am awaiting reply to my complaint ref with holding of medication. Food, breakfast good, the rest well it's food! Overall, the last weeks have been the most miserable and unhappy of my life, things can only get better!
Wow what an amazing home. When you enter the atmosphere is so welcoming Everyone is polite, helpful and happy you see so many smiling faces. My mum was unhappy in her previous care home and is so much happier here, many thanks to all the staff.
From seeing the home online to my Sister moving in was so easy. The friendly admin gave a wonderful tour and gave all the information we needed. The manager came and introduced herself and was warm and kind. All the staff are brilliant with my sister and it's the happiest I have seen her. All staff plays an important role and we can not thank them enough.
One word - Outstanding from the first initial visit you could truly see how exceptional the services and staff were at looking after the residents. They truly thought of everything. My mother was and is very happy and enjoyed the daily different activities provided by the amazing activities coordinators. The facilities in the new home were that of a 5-star hotel! Thank you all at St Marys for everything you continue to do.
It feels like home.
Highly recommend. New building is amazing, and all the staff are wonderful and caring.
St Marys has helped my dad so much since he became a resident in March 2024. It's the happiest we've seen him in many years and that's all down to the amazing staff.
The staff here are amazing. They are kind, caring and helpful to residents and families alike. The new home 'the big house' is beautiful. The food is amazing with plenty of variety to choose from. The activity staff are always doing things with and for the residents. Thank you everyone.
1st class staff really look after my brother exceptionally well. With special thanks to the senior care assistant and the entertainment staff who try to keep his mind occupied.
The new St Marys home is fantastic. Everything you could possibly want. Better than a five-star hotel.
Wonderful place and staff, would recommend to anyone.
My grandad was brought in as an emergency from another home. He was only with the home for 5 days as he was end of life and the care he received was outstanding. The staff couldn’t do enough for him and us as a family. We are so grateful for the care he received.
