View Full Details of Hampden HouseMum has been at Hampden nearly two years. Although it has taken her time to settle in, she is slowly getting there. This is no reflection on the Home, but more the fact that she is unable to do anything for herself anymore and she finds this difficult. We find the staff very accommodating and friendly, although at times I do feel that staffing levels are a little low. Any time I/mum has any concerns I take them straight to management and they are addressed immediately. Activities are always good. Mums room is lovely and we are fortunate to have a lovely outlook.
My mum is safe , well cared for and has company ' she has made some lovely friends. Staff have been amazing with her these years since she lost her 3 precious children ( my siblings ) so thank you from the bottom of my heart and for my support also since I lost my precious son a few months ago . Lovely caring staff and they all go above and beyond to care X
My feedback is on the three months that I have been involved with H.House. Menu is varied and is liked, but seems to have a lot of soup and curried items. Afternoon drinks are sometimes quite late and at weekends sometimes the lead nurse is serving it and also tidying up! Portion size of biscuits and cakes are small. Weekends don't appear to be staffed in the numbers that are working during the week which looks like there is pressure on the staff working and the care they are able to provide. Short cuts on care are taken. Mouth hygiene for my family member is hit and miss. Conveen is either not fitted or sometimes is short to the knee which makes it uncomfortable for the wearer and hard to empty. The three months have been a challenge for me as the family member. My expectations weren't met, but it is early days and I hope things will improve. Laundry service is good. Activities are good. Rooms are good and the garden is lovely. Staff are friendly.
Mum has been a resident at Hampden House for almost 2 years now,and she has settled brilliantly. My family and I couldn't be happier with the care and support she receives. The facilities are excellent, and the activities provided daily are first class. There is always something each week which suits everyone. Mum especially enjoys the music events and the bingo. The home itself is beautifully presented and the gardens are amazing. Perfect for enjoying an afternoon in the sunshine. Everyone goes out of their way to make sure Mum is happy, and it is so reassuring for us to know that she is safe, cared for, and in such good hands. Thank you everyone, for the wonderful job you do!
I am well cared for in here. Myself and my clothes and room are all kept clean. I hope I will be able to stay here for whatever time I have left to live. We also get nice food to eat.
Well looked after. Always treat with care.
Staff very pleasant and friendly. Doesn't seem to be enough staff available. Not a lot of physical activity is available. Room comfortable.
Overall the care home is good and Mum likes living there and taking part in the activities. Where I have given a rating of satisfactory it relates to the following:- Facilities - The boiler/heating system is old and keeps failing frequently leaving residents with no heating or hot water and the management do not appear to be addressing the issue properly but appear to be taking the "patching" up approach. Care/Support - use of agency staff due to being short staffed - something the new management said was one of their top priorities they were going to address 18 months ago when they took over the care home.
Mum was so well looked after by all the staff at Hampden House, who dealt with her needs with care and compassion. She loved looking out from her room onto the lovely gardens and my dad especially enjoyed his afternoon tea and cake when visiting her daily. I will always be grateful for the dignified way she spent her last months. Thank you.
My friend was very poorly and needed end-of-life care. She was kept pain-free and treated with care and compassion and I, and her relatives, were kept informed at all stages with kindness and understanding. Thank you for all your support.
Mum was always cared for with dignity and respect. The gardens were beautifully kept with hanging baskets outside the windows. Mum enjoyed sitting in the gardens under her sun umbrella. Mum was able to be signed out and taken into Harrogate to local cafes and restaurants when relatives came if she wanted. We felt really confident that we had chosen the right place for her.
From the first phone call to our last day, the staff and support we and my aunt received was excellent. I lived four hours away and I was always comforted to know that my aunt was safe and supported at all times and I was kept up to speed with how she was, which was a great comfort to me. I got to know the staff really well and they knew who I was too. Overall experience was excellent.
The most welcoming, hard-working and friendly team are here at Hampden House! My Granny was no longer safe living independently at home and now needs some assistance with everyday personal tasks along with some social engagement and companionship. Hampden House has delivered on all of the above and she is settling well. The staff are so helpful and the rooms and laundry are kept to a high standard. I have been particularly impressed with the social engagement team and the activities that are on offer to my Granny should she choose to participate. Thank you all so much for your warm welcome and all you do to ensure our loved ones are safe and most of all happy in your care.
They made me feel very welcome all the staff were nice. Lovely place, clean and tidy, they were very helpful with my daily needs.
Overall satisfactory and apart from one day (Tuesday) the meals were good although limited choice. My room was a good size and clean on arrival but no cleaning of my room or ensuite was done during my week's stay. No activities or services were offered, I had to ask for everything. Most of the staff were pleasant, polite and respectful. The person who helped me to have the one bath I had, was excellent. One person refused to wash my hair, saying that it was the hairdresser's job, but another did wash my hair later. I did mention a recliner chair, to ease leg pain but nothing was offered. The laundry service was good, though some items were lost.
Hampden House was chosen by us after extensive research and visits to alternative care homes and we as a family couldn't be happier with the care provided. All staff have proved to be kind, courteous and helpful at every level and the atmosphere is welcoming most importantly our mum is happy to call Hampden House her home.
I was only a resident for one week - but this enabled me to get back on my feet! So thank you, everyone.
Everything was quite good but certain staff were not trained to care or make beds. Some staff were really thoughtful need heating night and morning. I have sat cold, they bought me a blanket. Worst things are the beds. I am allergic to rubber and sweat every night.
I needed care following spine surgery. At short notice Hampden House provided exactly what I needed. I felt the staff were friends with each other and this made for a lovely atmosphere - which I benefitted from very much. Thanks to all.
A caring and compassionate sanctuary. My mother who is now 101 has been here for several years is content here and for the rest of the family. It is a solace and reassurance to know she is secure and well looked after.
