The staff at Somerset are a caring, kind and an attentive top down team. They are friendly, open and welcoming each time I visit. They are interested in each of the residents and ask great questions to find the best ways of supporting people.... they even made welsh cakes for my mother on discovering she was welsh and liked them... huge thank you for that. Whilst there are areas of Somerset which might look a little tired, they are going through a huge programme of updating. My mums room is one of the new ones and it is fabulous, light and airy with an en suite bathroom which is perfect for her needs. They have been very supportive of my mum, as it has taken a while for her to settle in the new environment and they understand the needs and challenges of people with dementia. Thank you for all that you have done

We would like to say how great full we are for the care and support all the staff provide at Somerset Nursing Care home for our 98 yr old Mum/Gran. She is happy, she always looks lovely when we visit, The food always looks lovely, the staff provide a wide range of activities for the residents. The staff always welcome us and make us feel relaxed. The staff are also very professional towards both the residents and visitors. It's always a pleasure to visit Mum at this nursing home.

Mum became a resident in November 2024. The process from viewing the care home to moving and settling in was smooth and everyone we dealt with was helpful and professional. Mum has settled well and loves the home from home setting. The staff are all amazing can't do enough very caring and in tune with mums needs. Food fantastic and there is always something going on to entertain the residents and their visitors if they want to join in. We are so happy we chose Somerset House. I have given 4 stars for mums room which is a little tired as is the old part of the home, but this is in hand with the renovations in progress, so I am sure it will be a 5 when all completed. The new extension and facilities look amazing.

My mother, who will shortly celebrate her 96th birthday, receives all-round excellent care at Somerset House. She is especially fond of the many activities and external visits provided by the staff at the home.

Whenever we visit the staff are very pleasant and helpful, always offering us drinks. The home is always clean and the bedrooms are very clean, tidy and have beautiful furniture. The lady I go and visit is 93 and is very well looked after and is very happy in Somerset House.

My brother-in-law has been a resident of Somerset House for 18 months. I have been impressed with the management and staff who are friendly but also professional. The housekeeping is good and the food is appreciated by my brother-in-law. His clothes are laundered daily. Whilst he was very independent and reluctant to leave his house he appreciates the quality of care he receives. My wife is kept fully informed by the care home staff.

The staff at Somerset House provide a consistent, very caring and attentive quality to the home. One of it's many strengths is that there is not a high turnover of personnel and the home does not use bank staff, this ensures that care is personalised and faces are familiar which is so important, both to residents and relatives.

My uncle has been in Somerset House for a few months now, and the manager and staff are very friendly and welcoming. The staff are very caring and always keep you informed about things that are going on with your family.

My 97-year-old mum has been a resident at Somerset House for 15-months now, and I continue to be impressed by the high standard of care provided by both management and staff. Mum is settled and happy and never seems to go short of affection and hugs from her carers. I am always kept fully up to date with her care requirements and condition, and I have full confidence that she is safe and happy in their care.

My mum has been a resident at Somerset House for almost 6-years now. The standard of care is extremely high, and the staff are always friendly, with nothing being too much trouble for them. There are numerous activities arranged for residents to help them pass the day, and they are always encouraged to participate, with themes according to the time of year. Staff keep in touch with me on a regular basis to inform me of any concerns, and there is a good dialogue with the management team who hold relatives meetings every couple of months. I would not hesitate to recommend Somerset House as a care home to anyone looking for a high standard of care for their loved one.

My dad has settled well at Somerset House due to the staff being kind and helpful with his dementia. If I need to know anything about what is happening with him, every member of staff is always helpful. He always smiles when he sees any member of staff, which tells me a lot - if he is happy, so am I to walk away knowing that he is looked after.

My mother is very happy here. The staff support her needs well, and she feels at home here. From my point of view, the staff and management are friendly and approachable. Activities are varied, and residents can join in or not as they wish. The food always looks good, and my mother enjoys it. I would recommend Somerset House to anyone looking for a residential care home.

Since my mother's arrival at Somerset House, I have been extremely happy with the quality of care Mum has received. I have found the home to be professional and caring. The biggest compliment I can make is that my mum is happy, which reflects her quality of care and life. Thank you.
