View Full Details of Craigielea Community Nursing HomeReally happy with care. Home and staff always welcoming.
On the whole, very good. I feel there isn't enough interaction between staff and residents. My husband is quite talkative and would benefit from a conversation now and again. I don't think that watching television all day is good for anyone. Most residents don't understand what they are watching.
The staff on duty work really hard, but very often there are not enough present in the lounge to take my mother to the bathroom. This can make things difficult for her as she then needs to use her pad, which she is reluctant to do. There has been a missing ceiling tile and a stained ceiling tile in Mum's room for a number of weeks now. These are my main 'niggles'. Otherwise, it all runs very smoothly for Mum.
My father has been in Craiglea for over 3 months now and we as a family could not be more happy with his care. All the staff have been fantastic with my father and all of the family when we visit. The genuine sincerity of care for my father has not gone unnoticed, as well as the professionalism of the staff. We, as a family, would like to thank Craigielea for everything you are doing for my father.
Visit my friend on a regular basis. Home clean & well decorated, maintained, etc. I feel my friend needs to be outside in the garden each day, beneficial both for her physical & mental health. She needs to be amongst fellow residents in the lounge, having her meals in the dining area, etc. She needs interaction with other people, outings to the park, coffee shops, etc.
Enjoyed the review very helpful, as it is my first meeting with Craigielea, as my sister has only been there for a short time. She has settled very well, she told me she loves it there. The staff are excellent with her, she has dystonia and needs help with everything also feeding etc also affects her speech. I am very happy with Craigielea.
The staff at my mam's care home go above and beyond their jobs to look after my mam. All of them from the carers, senior carers, to admin staff, cleaners and kitchen staff all do an amazing job. They are all so kind, caring and all round lovely people. I wouldn't want my mam in any other home in the North East.
The staff from the start have been absolutely fantastic. They are so professional and efficient its unbelievable. My dad was as thought close to death. But with their help and professionalism he is now like a new person only two weeks later. We could not be happier and are very grateful. He is eating and drinking the food is also fantastic. The whole family are very happy and grateful.
I have completed this alongside my Uncle who is a resident since Dec 24. He was extremely dismissive of needing care, albeit living at home was not meeting his personal care at all even with 4 visits per day with carers. He was gently shown that he was in a safe, healthy and happy environment. I am over the mon he is accepting of being a permanent resident now. His emotional and physical needs are met to a high standard.
Staff very hardworking and treat my husband with care and dignity. Happy that new alarm has been installed in my husband's room. His shower facilities need updating, although my request for hand rail and a high additional toilet seat has been installed. I find the management is very easy to approach, which makes me confident that my husband is being given good care at Craigielea.
All the staff go above and beyond at all times and there are no complaints about any aspects of my mum's stay and don't even mention the meals as she gets better fed than me. Overall, I rate Craigielea as excellent because it's deserved, and I'm so pleased my mum is staying in such a nice place with absolutely fantastic staff. It makes a big difference when you know she's being well looked after when you can't be there.
Recently lost my dad in Craigielea and I could not ask for more, the care and love my dad received from every single member of staff could not have been better over the 2 years my dad was there. A special type of person becomes a carer Craigielea has this in abundance. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you did for my dad right up to the end. Love to you all have a great Christmas and New Year and love to all the residents.
Resident has only been in for two weeks. All options up to now have been good. Too soon, or unable to comment on certain items, but impressions are good.
Craigielea is an excellent care home. The staff are friendly and I am always impressed by how well they know my parents. The care provided is very good indeed. I genuinely feel that my parents are receiving excellent care. I am always welcomed warmly, no matter what time I arrive.
It is a very caring and supportive service and I believe that the staff are all very well-trained. I know that the activities play an important part in my mother-in-law's quality of life and she enjoys it there immensely. The management are particularly excellent at their jobs and I think the service they head is good value for money.
I would recommend Craigelea as the staff are professional and the care provided replicates the 'Good' CQC rating. All staff from management to floor staff are supportive. Good food, clean, supportive and welcoming.
I find the home always nice and clean, the staff and food are good and they are always willing to help if you need it. I have had a lot to do with homes over the years. I think this is a lovely place for my husband to live at this point in his life.
My mam has been a resident for approximately one year, in that time I have found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. My mam is well cared for and comfortable in her room and knows most of the staff, her face lights up when they engage with her and this is very important to her family.
My great great Grandfather has never looked so well in a long time. Great staff team from management to senior staff, ancillary staff, more so care staff. At times a thank you isn't enough for the care and love given.
My aunt receives the best care at Craigielea Community Nursing Home. All of my aunts care needs are met fantastically. The girls continuously reassure my nervous aunt. she loves living at Craigielea. staff and management are first class.
