I have been going to Stapleton House now for over 5 years, within the last 6 months a change in management and leadership has resulted in significant improvements in the home . I find the standard of care is excellent and I look forward to further changes being implemented . I have taken part in residents meetings and suggested changes which have been done and feedback . Every small change has made a significant change to the homes atmosphere . It's great to hear laughter in the corridors between the staff and residents . The nurses provide a level of support to me as well taking exceptional care of all of the resident especially due many of the residents having different and complex needs . Thank you to the Stapelton House team for all your hard work .
From day one of my wife being admitted to Stapleton House 7 years ago she has received nothing but love, affection and exceptional medical care. I don't class them as staff or carers they were friends. Friends who not only looked after my wife but were always concerned about how I was coping and made sure I was ok. As for Stapleton House, I ticked every box excellent that was my and my family's opinion. We all have nothing but praise to everyone who gave their love and showed it by lining the corridor while my wife was taken from her room by the funeral directors. Thank you each and everyone of yous from the bottom of our hearts.
My husband has only been a resident at Stapleton House for one week. His care has been first class. Every member of staff we have met from manager down have treated my husband and family with care dignity and respect and they do everything with a smile. Thank you.
My mother was struggling with a particular health problem. The family were concerned that she may need hospital treatment however mother is particularly resistant to going into hospital for other than emergency situations. The nurses responded brilliantly to our concerns and suggestions. Contacting the doctor and ensuring that all our concerns were listened to. It is our opinion that the timely and prompt actions of the nurses and the doctor prevented any need to go into hospital on this occasion.
I regularly visit my father-in-law who is a resident at Stapleton House Care Home in Jarrow and I must say the Home is truly welcoming to all. The staff are like family and go above and beyond in their caring roles for residents and visitors. There's always a friendly face and a warm greeting which is really wonderful and makes my day! The first class manager and fabulous staff are professional in their caring roles and so friendly to all, it really is a wonderful place for residents and visitors alike. A recent addition to Stapleton House is the Mr Whippy ice cream machine, it's a huge success with my father-in-law! It's such a clever way to hydrate and get calories into residents who maybe don't have a good appetite, simply brilliant! I am so thankful and grateful that my father-in-law lives here, it's such a home from home and he loves it here.
When on holiday in Portugal I found it easy to call Stapleton house and speak to the Staff regarding my Mother, the phone manner was very good and all questions asked where either answered straight away or information would be sourced for the questions asked. The new management are trying there best to upgrade facilities and freshen up all areas of the care home, I find this very pleasing knowing Mam is looked after and her needs are catered for to the best of there abilities.
I've found a significant change in "Stapleton house" since the new lady took over, atmosphere is uplifting lots of niceties for guests & resident's,Mr whippy ice cream " with sprinkles" iced water with lemon or orange , still more to come .....
Myself and my family are currently working through the end stages our mam's life and we are being supported by the most amazing group of managers, nurses, carers, and all other staff involved in the running of Stapleton House. My mam is receiving fantastic care and the compassion being shown to her and the whole family is beyond amazing. Everything from her care and medical needs and offering myself and my sister drinks, food, support and a shoulder to cry at all times of the day. They are amazing!!
I was a resident in Stapleton House from October till the beginning of January I was there as I was waiting for a wheelchair-friendly home which I'm now in. From my first meeting with the manager and one of the carers, I felt at ease. The carers were friendly and helpful. As a chef myself I have to say the meals were most acceptable.
Mam now has a permanent placement at Stapleton House, having been in respite care since May. Her room overlooks the garden and we have spent time out there in the nicer weather. I cannot praise the staff enough, they are all very friendly and caring and they go out of their way to be helpful. I would highly recommend Stapleton House for consideration to anyone looking for a caring friendly and safe environment, for a loved one.
My mam was a resident at Stapleton House for approx 18 months, initially receiving residential care and then, after a lengthy hospital, stay returning for palliative nursing care. It made such a positive difference to us that she was able to remain in a familiar, comfortable setting in her final weeks. As there appears to be low staff turnover, Mam was able to build relationships and trust with the people involved in looking after her, as did myself and Dad. The staff genuinely care about the residents and are friendly and approachable if there is a concern, or if you just need a listening ear and a cuppa. I would definitely recommend Stapleton House. We will not forget the warmth, kindness and compassion shown by all of the staff to my mam and to our family.
My dad has been in Stapleton House for two years and his care over this period has been excellent. The staff are absolutely brilliant so caring and friendly and they do so much for the residents. I would highly recommend Stapleton House to anyone who needs care or respite for a loved one.
After an informative and pleasant visit to the home, my sister and I felt confident in recommending that Mam be transferred there after her long stay in the hospital. Mam was made welcome and treated with great care and dignity from day one. Mam required nursing care; the care given by the nurses was outstanding. The nursing staff was always approachable and willing to discuss and explain Mam's treatment regime. All staff (nursing, care, admin, cleaning, chefs etc.) were kind and considerate to Mam, to our family and to our father who was finding life without his wife at home, after 70 years of marriage, very difficult. Mam's room was comfortable and she enjoyed a garden view. As Mam was a resident from January to May she enjoyed watching the garden come to life after the winter.
My mam was transferred from the local hospital to Stapleton house, where she spent the last three months of her life in their care. Mam was treated with respect and dignity at all times. Staff were very caring and compassionate both to my mam and her family.
Although Mam was in and out of the hospital for a lot of the time she was in Stapleton the care was excellent. Mam felt safe, happy and cared for. The family are grateful for the compassion and dignity with which she was looked after. Nothing was a trouble and we were always warmly welcomed when visiting.
My dad was a resident receiving palliative care. He was treated with respect at all times. They even allowed him to have his cat stay with him, which was a great comfort to him. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The staff are friendly and cannot do enough to help in any way they can. I can honestly say each and every member of staff is wonderful and made my dad's last few weeks of his life a positive experience for him.
My mother spent the last year of her life at Stapleton House. My sister and I really appreciated the care and compassion shown to our mother by all the staff during her time there. I would be happy to recommend Stapleton House to any family looking for a lovely care home for their loved one.
Outstanding! Management and staff were amazing, going over and above to facilitate transfer of Mam to Stapleton House from hospital at very, very short notice for end-of-life care. I cannot over-emphasize enough how important this was to us as a family and the positive care outcomes for Mam. All staff went out of their way to make Mam and us feel welcome and supported from the moment Mam arrived. Mam was treated with dignity, compassion, kindness, efficiency, and professionalism from everyone. I have cared for Mam for many years but was finally confident enough in the staff to take a step back and allow others to 'care' for Mam. This allowed me to become my mam's daughter once again instead of worrying about her care. This provided quality time for Mam and myself which I cannot thank the staff enough for. Ourselves as a family were supported and reassured at all times and there was a never-ending supply of tea and sympathy. Even fellow residents were a delight. Thank you!
