The care and support have been outstanding, from the moment my dad arrived at Thornbury around 18 months ago.
Every member of staff is consistently kind, caring and incredibly helpful, not only to my dad but to us as a family. He has settled far better than we could have hoped and is treated
with dignity and respect at all times. Communication is excellent, and visiting always feels easy and welcoming.
The home is extremely clean and very well maintained. We visited five care homes locally before choosing Thornbury, and it stood out immediately as by far the nicest, both in terms of facilities and atmosphere. The communal areas are excellent and, while my dad doesn't personally take part, there is a wide range of activities offered.
We feel very fortunate to have found Thornbury and have complete peace of mind knowing my dad is in such a caring, professional and well-run home. I would wholeheartedly recommend

could not fault the care my mam resive staff very approachable managers very good all round great service for mam and her family could not be happier in the care she gets and the support we get as a family I feel very safe going home after a visit knowing mam is in good health

My beautiful Mam has been a resident for over a year now. As her health and needs over this period have changed, they've all been addressed in a superior manner that I've learnt comes as standard.
The staff live the job! Not the other way around. This goes to say for care staff, seniors,
management and housekeeping. Their compassion, friendliness, commitment and professionalism shown to my Mam and myself has helped to alleviate a lot of the pain and stress when placed in the incomparable position of choosing a care home for your loved one.
Whilst no establishment anywhere is perfect, changes are always implemented where required, they involve family members and listen to suggestions, it's not a one size fits all, everyone is treat as an individual!
Top and bottom, it's a happy, friendly place, even in the most difficult and challenging circumstances. It's the place I'm glad I found.

All the staff at this care home are brilliant and caring , my mam has been in there for 6 years this year and is well looked after 24/7 . Best thing we ever did is put her into this care home , all The staff are so friendly and try and make mam laugh all the time . Thankyou to them all

Since my mother began her stay at thornbury care centre in December 2025 I feel all of my mother's care needs have been met physically and mentally. The staff have been professional. The staff have made my mother feel warm and welcome. The staff have also made myself and other members of the family
understand the plan throughout my mother's future care.. my mother is happy with all the staff and at the care centre and the warmth they show towards her on a daily basis.

I would recommend thornbury care centre very highly I felt as if the staff were part of a family anything my mam needed or wanted was dealt with they were always on hand to give advice when needed .The cleanliness and decor in the home was immaculate. I would like to thank everyone

From the onset of an emergency placement for my Mam , the staff were absolutely amazing in how they welcomed her & us as a family in such traumatic circumstances.
We feel very lucky to have not only found the perfect accommodation & care for my Mam but the level of support given to myself was
second to none.
There aren't enough words to express how positive we feel about the whole experience particularly in times of stress.
My mam was always reluctant to consider being cared for in a residential setting , however she soon felt that this was her home & being afforded the best care from every member of staff . The staff have gone over & beyond in supporting & caring for us all , especially during palliative and end of life care for my Mam. The kindness , compassion, consideration, professionalism and friendliness of the staff have continually reassured us as a family that my Mam was happy and content. I wouldn't hesitate at all to highly recommend the care home to others .

Thornbury provides a clean, well-run care home for people diagnosed with dementia. Staff are largely very caring and work hard to make sure residents are happy, well cared for, safe and active. There is a very wide-ranging and interesting activity timetable and families are also invited and
welcomed. My mother is happy with the food and level of care.

My mam stayed in Thornbury just a short time but during that time I cannot thank the staff enough for the care and attention my mam was given, they are an absolutely professional team who make the time to ensure the residents are cared for in the way we all would want to be cared for, I don't have a
single bad thing to say, only good. The final thing they did after my mam sadly passed away was beautiful, laying a single red rose on her bed, from all the family a massive thank you for caring for our mam.

A well-organised care home. All the staff are pleasant and understanding and take time to listen to any queries that you have. Ongoing cleaning staff are always on hand. The rooms are always clean. Residents are well cared for, happy and clean. I'm very happy with the care home.

Received a good welcome when transferred from the hospital and settled in quite soon. The staff were very helpful and cheerful, which certainly aided in my comfort and wellbeing and later discharge. Grateful thanks to everyone, which includes the laundry girls and also the 'building boys'!

We are very pleased with Thornbury Care Centre. The staff are friendly and always courteous. Everyone is treated with dignity. Meals and medication are provided promptly. All communications are dealt with promptly.

From the first day to the last day, my mother-in-law was welcomed into the care home. All the staff were pleasant and caring. The care and support were very good. I was kept up to date on any issues, can't thank them enough. They supported us through her bereavement also.

My mother-in-law had only been in the home for six months. We, as a family, were very happy with the care that she received. She settled in very quickly. I would like to thank all the staff that were involved in her care.

A very caring, safe and professionally run home.
The staff go over and beyond to ensure the residents' needs are met, this includes getting a daily newspaper on their way into work for my father. Cannot praise this home enough.

Throughout the three years that my friend has been a resident in Thornbury, I have found the care to be excellent on all counts - physical, emotional and intellectual. My friend's needs are met with a warm and caring attitude by all staff. Quick to spot any physical ailments and find solutions.
Supportive through all of my friend's moods and difficulties.

Mam joined Thornbury in late November last year. The initial contact from two members of staff to Mam's welcome by all the staff and the ongoing care provided to Mam has been utterly outstanding. The management and all staff are totally dedicated to consistently providing fantastic care at all

My father was a resident in Thornbury Care Centre for a short while before he passed away due to illness. I can’t praise the staff enough, they were fantastic with my dad, showing care, respect and dignity, keep up the good work guys.

My grandmother is a resident of this home, at first she was very unsure about going into a home especially during the Covid situation. Her fears were soon diminished as she absolutely loves it in this home. She said the home makes her feel really safe. She enjoys the company and interaction with the
staff and other residents. She is really well looked after and looks much younger since she came to live here! Her room is really nicely decorated and she loves the food. She is entertained with lots of activities. The attention and care given to her is excellent and all of her family are happy that she is being looked after so well by a hard-working bunch of staff. Thank you for being great and caring for my grandma.

A well-organised care home. All the staff are pleasant and understanding and take time to listen to any queries that you have. Ongoing cleaning staff are always on hand. The rooms are always clean. Residents are well cared for, happy and clean. I'm very happy with the care home.
