View Full Details of Bowburn Care CentreI wish to say that having experienced 2 previous homes, Bowburn comes top of the list in all aspects of what is required and expected of a care homes suitability. For my wife who is bedbound after suffering a stroke.
Our Mother has lived at Bowburn now for over 6 months and we could not rate the Care Home highly enough. From the first day we went to visit it was clear that this was where she should be. It was a difficult decision to make as a family, but it has been the best decision. Every member of the team at Bowburn treats residents with such care and respect and ensure they maintain their dignity and are happy. It is an exceptionally well run and well organised care home where we are all made to feel welcome. Our Mother says she feels safe and so very well looked after. Thank you to all the Team from the top down, you are all amazing and we really appreciate everything you do x
My mother is currently being currently a resident in Bowburn suffering from vascular dementia, from my very first visit the staff have always made me feel at ease and welcomed us and have gone out of their way to make our visits as comfortable as possible. We do not live local to Bowburn and the fact that you can just turn up anytime of any day has helped planning visits so much easier. i cannot speak highly enough of the staff and the home i really cant, as a family my two brothers and i have said that our mam could not be in a better home. The warmth shown to us by the staff really has touched us and Mam is always happy and you can just see she is well looked after and as happy as she can be which means so much to help what is a difficult situation for us all. I would recommend Bowburn to anybody and in my opinion it is of the highest standard along with the most caring staff.
We are so grateful to the team at Bowburn, they really do care.not only for their residents but for the wider family.. kind and compassionate... I truly believe we could not have found a better place for my mother in law to be cared for. We called in today and she was tucking into a full roast beef dinner .. all home cooked. Any restraunt pub or cafe would of been proud to serve it.
My Father with advanced dementia initially went into Bowburn for respite care. It was a very difficult decision for us to make as a family. We were welcomed to visit at any time to look round before no pre arrangements needed....to see it as it is. It was clear that managers and staff were happy and it was clear they wanted to give residents the individual care, dignity understand them for who they were. My dad's personal care was always well attended to. He spent time in the communal areas and encouraged to engage in all activities. He was so well supported to eat ...self led as much as possible. Staff were happy quite had been working there for .any years , which says a lot. It was clean , communication was great. I have been so happy with the care that Bowburn gave my dad and would highly recommend it...caring, clean , happy residents and staff.
As a family we were invited to visit the care home without an appointment. Their approach was '' take us as you find us' and after being shown around we felt confident that all the staff had each residents unique welfare at the core of their care. After two successful episodes of respite and seeing dad seemingly unphased by the communal living , when dad' care was no longer tenable at home we were confident we had a great local option. Care is second to none. Every resident is looked after as an individual with dignity and respect. As a family we consistently witnessed kindness, tenderness and patience. Staff had to adapt to the ever changing capabilities and health needs of our lovely dad . They supported Dad through these transitions and also eased us, his family through these new unchartered waters. His end of life care was communicated sensitively and clearly and our whole family felt 'looked after' . The staffs reaction to our loss showed us that they truly cared. Thankyou
Thank you to you all for the care and respect you have shown our dear dad throughout his time with you, and the continuing compassion you have shown our family. You really are a wonderful team.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the incredible team at Bowburn Care Home for the exceptional care and compassion shown to our beloved dad during his 8-year stay with you. As a family, we were fortunate to witness firsthand the love and dedication that the four particular carers and all the other staff involved with Dad, poured into their work every single day. Throughout his journey with dementia, our dad was treated with dignity, patience, and an abundance of kindness that brought us immense comfort. It was clear that every interaction was filled with genuine care, and the relationships formed were truly special. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the care home manager, for her professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to providing outstanding care. Under her leadership, Bowburn Care Home has been a place of comfort, compassion, and excellence for our dad and many others.
Dad was placed in Bowburn Care Centre in November 2017 with vascular dementia. The staff are all very friendly and caring and built up a friendship with most of them, they treated Dad like their family which was lovely to see. As the years passed, Dad became unaware of any of us and didn't respond to me calling him "Dad" which was heartbreaking but calling him his name he responded to, so I just accepted that. His care was always very good, kept him looking clean, well groomed and he was happy. As the years passed, he declined more and more and end of 2024, he was at the end stage of dementia which he stopped eating and drinking and was in bed and the staff always made sure he was comfortable and not in pain. The staff were amazing with him, he was looked after immensely and made his last days nice and dignified, we were with him right until his last breath and the staff could not have helped us any better. We were offered refreshments and support, they all were amazing until the end which was lovely.
Excellent service, kind and understanding. Food and beverages high quality.
Mam came into Bowburn Care Centre after a fall and hospital stay, it is clean, airy and provides a relaxed and safe environment. All the staff have been approachable, kind and efficient. Many thanks to all at Bowburn Care Centre.
I am so relieved that we found a facility as good as Bowburn Care Centre for my 90-year-old father. My brother and myself do not live in the area so we were worried about what to do. The care team at Bowburn put us completely at ease. Just watching how the carers interact with each other and the patients was very reassuring. This is a kind, caring environment for anyone with problems to live in.
Uncle came to live with yourselves after several weeks in hospital. Staff are beginning to build relationships with him and organise his day around activities of his choices, engaging him to be independent as allows for his his own safety. He is looking forward to warm weather to get out in the garden. From reception staff, activities coordinators and staff on his unit and managers and cleaners, all keep us informed of his presentation and all pleasant and approachable and nothing is a bother. Thank you.
My experience with the home and staff has been no less than perfect. All staff are great, home is immaculate. Mam says food is great. Well done to all at Bowburn Home.
I am very happy that my son and I chose this care home. The staff are caring and supportive. The home is clean and tidy and my wife is definitely in the right place. Food is good.
My father came to this home on end-of-life and was only here for one week. In that week, he was well looked after and made very comfortable. The home and staff looked after us every time we visited him, especially the night before and the morning he died. Would like to thank the home and all the staff for everything they did for him and us in that week.
My mother has just returned from her second respite week at Bowburn Care Centre - this five-star facility has been my saviour. The staff are incredible - so positive and friendly. The home is spotless and always has a wonderful smell. The food is excellent, and the kitchen is pristine. I can't say enough about this care home. It's fabulous. Always a joyous experience for my mother.
Tremendous care home. My mother-in-law recently stayed there for a week. My wife is at total ease knowing her mother is being well cared for at Bowburn Care Centre. Excellent, five-star rating from me.
Managers and staff at Bowburn Care Centre provided excellent care for my aunt, showing her respect and giving very personal support to make her feel wanted. I found the home took time to understand her medical conditions and dealt with these with sensitivity and thoroughness. It was only when my aunt's needs moved into the nursing level that she had to leave and ultimately pass away. We in the family will always be grateful to Bowburn Care Centre.
