My father was in Dolphin View for two and a half years, he was very well cared for and always appeared happy. During his first year in Dolphin View there were many changes in staff and management which was concerning but now with the new manager there is an altogether calmer atmosphere in place.

Thanks to all the staff at Dolphin View Care Home for taking care of my lovely Aunty for the last 12 years. The caring roles you do are so important in society as not all relatives live near enough to look after their family members. You have all treated and cared for my Aunty wonderfully, with
professionalism and compassion. At the end of her life you were there for her and ensured she died peacefully and pain free. For this our family have peace of mind and eternal gratitude, can't thank you enough and will never forget you all.

Dad arrived following a long stay in hospital after a fracture of his hip. Standards of care in hospital were poor and Dad suffered from this and made no real recovery. His care in Dolphin view is so different and positive. Staff are purposeful and helpful and have been very proactive in procuring
appropriate medical provision for Dad, to keep him comfortable. Dad is now in end of life care & funded. I would recommend Dophin View and all members of staff who have been very professional in their approach to Dad.

Delighted with the care my brother who is physically disabled but very alert has received at Dolphin View
It is a Nursing Home of course - so the doctor comes and liaises closely with nurses, but it is also his home and he feels relaxed, happy and most of all, 'at home' in Dolphin View, so I do not
feel that it is overmedicalised. The staff are both capable and friendly
The home is clean and does not smell
There have been changes in the managers in recent months, but I have not detected any deterioration in the care given to my brother at all and the current managerial team seem very good
My brother gets an excellent chiropodist in the home, his preadmission hairdresser visits (but there is also a resident hairdresser if he needed), his friends visit to play him chess and he can order whatever he wants from a bookshop or supermarket online. Lastly he gets his papers delivered. He seems very happy in Dolphin View

My brother David moved to Dolphin View on 2nd July. He has type 1 insulin dependant which could not be managed at home even with nurses going in to administer insulin and check blood glucose. On May 19th the nurse found him in a non responsive state, and administered emergency treatment an
ambulance was called. He was in hospital(Cramlington & Wansbeck) till being discharged to Dolphin View. David does not understand diabetes or symptoms of hypos/hypers there for needing nursing care. The staff on the whole are friendly and helpful. My brother says that the staff are nice, and he enjoys the meals and he is happy, and that is the important thing to me my brother is safe nurses keep checking blood sugars and intervene when they get low/high. The caring staff also help him with personal care. I have had little experience of care homes, but no care home is perfect. I would like to thank everyone for looking after David and keeping him safe.

Most of the staff and carers seem kind and considerate. There have been three managers in a space of five months! The food seems plentiful. The rooms are basic and dated, however families are allowed to make their relatives room more personal. More communication would be good as to what residents
are up to. My mother suffers with dementia and so does not remember anything to tell us on visits. Surprised to learn that wheelchairs are not proved, and so we had to purchase one. As a relative to a resident we do not have any other experience of care homes but really thought on a whole Dolphin View would be better than we have experienced. However we are extremely grateful for all the staff do. Thank you.

Mum came into this home a year past September 2024. We have found the care home to be very caring. The staff look after residents well whilst still allowing their dignity. We have had some days where mum has been upset when we are visiting. This is about the situation she is in noting to do with the
home. When she gets upset we also get upset. The staff are really good with us also, and they reassure us.

Excellent admin support - very good to my bother and to me. Excellent handyman - put up his picture, TV set etc. Excellent and very caring, capable nurses giving him all the care my brother needed to be readmitted to hospital frequently, now that he gets the right care he has remained well. His room
is small but he has a view and there is a day room close by. One of the nurses ironed on all his name tags. The cook made him a lovely omelette when he did not find the menu tempting.

Unfortunately, my experience wasn't particularly good. My dad was admitted to Dolphin View on the 14th of June 2024 after suffering a stroke in April and he needed a nursing home. I went and visited Dolphin View on the 12th of June. I met with the manager who was very nice and staff. I went to have
a look around and pass on mine and my sister's contact details so that if we needed as I live close by I could be there asap. However, the manager didn't enter our contact details to my dad's file. As a consequence of these actions my dad passed away on the 10th of July without any of his daughters being there to say goodbye. The police came to my door at 6am that morning to inform me that my dad had passed away. I did have a meeting with someone from head office regarding this. I believe the manager has since resigned from her post. I do believe there are new measures in place. I really hope so as I would hate anyone to go through this experience.

We needed to find a nursing home for dad and feel very fortunate to have secured a place for him at Dolphin View. The care and respect he has been shown have been great alongside care and consideration for mum and us as a family as we adjust to his care arrangement. Managers are available and
respond positively to feedback and are committed to quality care. The staff are kind and professional and work really hard.

Care home is very clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly and listens to what we have to say regarding our bother's needs.

I can't express my relief that my Mum has ended up here, at the ripe age of 99! It had been increasingly difficult to be her sole carer and I now know that she is safe, contented, well fed and in the care of a highly professional staff. I feel I have a real friendship myself with these terrific
people. They genuinely love my mum and give her the best care possible. Thank you.

I cannot say enough good things about this care home. All the staff are amazing, kind, thoughtful and genuinely care for the residents and their families. We were lucky enough to stay for Sunday lunch when our mam was unwell and the food is really good.
Beautiful and well-kept outside space
overlooking the sea and lots of passing people to stop and chat and for the residents to sit and people watch.
The rooms although small adequately fit in everything you would need and our mam was lucky enough to have a sea view.
The residents are happy, clean, well fed and always buzzing about.
I would have previously said care homes aren’t really a place for children but was happy to take in our 10-year-old as it’s a nice happy place.
Dolphin View helped us through a really difficult time and that’s mainly down to the fantastic staff. I would name them but not sure if I’m allowed but they know who they are. Thank you Dolphin View family!

My mam had two falls in two days and was admitted to hospital, her care manager said she cannot be left alone, she will have to go in respite care.
She went in about 3 weeks ago then became permanent on the 7th June 23.
She told us she was happy and the nurses were very nice and the meals were
nice.
We saw a big change in her and the family were happy mam was happy.
I go in every day to see her and stay about 2 hours, I am also offered a cup of tea of staff when mam gets hers. She calls it her new home.
However, my husband and myself were told the code to come in and out. I do not wish this to go further as I already have been told about this. The only problem we have is sometimes we are waiting for someone to let us in and out so when the care staff are busy with patients we have to wait.
We know this is a good thing for security but I am not the only visitor that feels this way.
Having to wait for someone to open the door is taking away staff who are very busy with patients.

From the time my sister was admitted into Dolphin View Care Home until her death, she never once complained about any of the staff regarding her treatment. All the staff had time for her, popping in for a quick chat and laugh. She called Dolphin View her home and was happy there. As far as we were
concerned she was treated with dignity and well cared for. That was all that mattered to my wife, brother and I.

My aunt's stay at Dolphin View was filled with the best care, love and support our family could only have wished for.
My aunt was a very independent lady living into her late 90s in her beloved flat.
When this was no longer possible the management and staff made her feel she was at home and she
quickly settled into communal living.
Due to a long distance, we could not visit as much as we would have liked to,
however, the staff made it easy to have contact with her and the home ensuring the constant flow of communication continued.
We will be forever grateful for the endless chocolate drinks, dignity and respect my aunt received.
Thank you to all the amazing staff who gave her the best life when she could no longer do this herself.
